The Golden Sceptre of Grace

God will arise and shine on you.
Favour will arise and follow you.
The Glory of God will overshadowed you.
Goodness and mercy will follow you.
Your “Golden Sceptre” will be given to you.
God will smile at you.
The heavenly hosts have fought for you.
Joy unspeakable and full of glory is your due.
So now give thanks and put on your dancing shoes.
The music will soon play for you.

Esther 5:2
“And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favor in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the scepter.”

Miracle in a Mother’s Touch

Miracle in a Mother’s Touch

Born premature

He had no future.

Baby Jamie

Was born to Katie

Born dead

Pronounced dead;

Twin sister, Emily

was doing well.

Mummy was told

To give the last cuddle

Say the last rites

She was bold

Despite the hurdle

Took up her dead child

Embraced it, gave it warmth

Love, welcome, comfort & peace.

She took Jamie

On a journey

Told a story

Of the plans they had

Thanked him for coming

And staying in her womb

Even for six months

She thanked him for the great time

They had together,

those intimate moments.

She talked of the times he played

with his sister in the womb

she told him of the celebrations planned

the thanksgiving planned which will still go ahead.

She thought he was beautiful, awe-inspiring

Gorgeous, fearfully and wonderfully made

And would be remembered for ever.

She told daddy to rip off his shirt and give him

Loved and warmth too and he did. They cuddled Jamie

For two hours and he responded, opened his eyes

Came back from the Land of the dead.

When the doctors were approached to come and see

They thought the couple were not accepting their loss.

They then assured the doctors they had come to terms with their loss.

Then a doctor came and saw and believed. This is a miracle!

 Miracle in a mother’s touch.

Speak to your dead dream

Don’t go mad and bad

Keep your eyes on Him

Don’t go mad and sad

 Dealing with Your Dead Dream

Dealing with Your Dead Dream

In dealing with your dead dream

Dare to believe in your God

Dare to put your faith in Him

Dare to stand on His word.

Dare to declare His word

Dare to speak life to your dream

Doing this will bring great reward

Let His word flow like a stream.

Know that He is the resurrection

Know that He is also the Life

Relent not in this declaration

So continually speak life.

39     Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”

40     Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

41     Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

42     And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”

43     Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”

44            And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”JN11:

Dead dreams do live

Dead dreams do rise

Your purpose shall live

Your dream shall rise!

25     Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.Jn11:25

18            I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death Rev1:18

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won if he’d stuck it out.

Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow

– You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than

It seems to a faint and faltering man;

Often the struggler has given up

When he might have captured the victor’s cup,

And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,

How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out –

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are –

It may be near when it seems afar;

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –

It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit

Do You Need a Breakthrough? ( Word for Today)

Do You Need a Breakthrough?

Bob Gas

‘…They called the name of that place Baal Perazim.’ 1 Chronicles 14:11

The Bible says: ‘The Philistines…made a raid on the Valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of God saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” The Lord said to him, “Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.” So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim [which means “breaking through”]’ (vv. 9-11 NKJV). To get a breakthrough in your life you must do what David did: 1) He reminded himself that ‘the Lord had made him king’ (1 Chronicles 14:2). You must remember Who called you, and Whose spirit lives within you. God called David, and He’s called you too. When you know that, you won’t let the enemy put you down or push you around. 2) He enquired of the Lord, ‘Shall I go up against the Philistines?’ (1 Chronicles 14:10 NKJV). Have you talked it over with the Lord? God doesn’t respond to your need, He responds to your obedience. When you’ve obeyed Him, you’ll win. 3) He gave God the credit: ‘God has broken through my enemies’ (v. 11 NKJV). Sometimes God will do it for you, other times He will do it through you. That’s why you must hear from Him before you make a move. You can’t do God’s part, and He won’t do yours. It’s not just a matter of ‘doing something’, it’s a matter of doing what God tells you! When you do, you’ll get a breakthrough.

Your spell can be broken. Just look to Jesus – the Author and finisher of your faith. It is not over until He says so.

Your spell shall be broken as it was broken for Barbara. This is not limited to your relationships. It could be in your finances or health or ministry. Hang in there! against all hope believe in Hope and keep giving glory until your change comes like Abraham and job.

10 And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the LORD had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold.

12 Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.

14 And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.

15 In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations.

17 So Job died, old and full of days. Job42:10-17

John 5: A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda

1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.

5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”

19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,

21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

Rom4

Genesis 21: Isaac Is Born

1 And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken.

2 For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

3 And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him — whom Sarah bore to him — Isaac.

4 Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

5 Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

6 And Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.”

7 She also said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.”

9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.

Joseph’s Rise to Power

37 So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants.

38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”

39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.

40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.”

41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt.

44 Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

Gen41

13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come. Ps102:13

It was hopeless for Hannah, Elizabeth , Rachel and Rebekah, Manaoh and his wife but God remembered them. God will remember you too! it was hopeless for Jabez but God turned his table around for good. God will turn your table too. Call on Him. Trust in Him. Hope in the God of Hope. The God who made Barabara smile at 70 will make you smile too. The God who gave laughter (Isaac) to Abraham and Sarah when it seemed hopeless will give you laughter too.

John 2: Water Turned to Wine

1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”

Redemption in Christ

3     Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

4     just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

5     having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

6     to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

7     In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

8     which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

Eph1:3-8,

17   that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

18   the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

19   and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

2Pet

2     Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

3     as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

4     by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2Pet1:2-4

Romans 8: Free from Indwelling Sin

1     There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

2     For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Rom8:1-2

17   Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

20                                                                                                                                        Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 2Cor5:17

9     But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

10   who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1Pet2:9-10

4     You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

4     For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.

1John4:4

4     But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

5     even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

6     and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

7     that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

8     For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

9     not of works, lest anyone should boast.

10   For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Eph2:10

9     For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 1Cor3:9

12   giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

13   He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

14   in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Col1

Ephesians 2: By Grace Through Faith

1                                                                                                                                          And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins

Psalms 103: Praise for the LORD’s Mercies A Psalm  of David.

1     Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!

2     Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

3     Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

4     Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

5     Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Divine Direction Brings Bumper Dividends

“A girl that is faithful to the Church      with a bump on the back was going to marry a brother of the Church. People      made fun of him telling him, with all the beautiful girls that is in this church is that which      thou sawest to marry? A girl with a bump?

The      brother replied I love it and also God told me clearly that she is the      woman of my life.

And they married, and after 3 years      brother that was nothing, had nothing and lived in poverty began to      prosper in business and he teamed up with his wife and they became rich      and prospered in their business, everything they touched turned into gold,      they bought cars and houses.

Some      time ago his wife fell pregnant and they went for an ultrasound and was      told that she was pregnant with triplets. When time of birth arrived, the      doctor and the wise women were doing their job by telling the woman to      push and the first, the second and third babies came out.
While she was ready to rest, the doctor told      her he had another in the belly so it should continue to push, while she      did a round thing came out of her stomach, the doctor examined it and      discovered that it was hump.
She straightened and could now stand up      normally, there’s a loud noise throughout the hospital people gloated on      all sides and gave glory to God.
When she went to the church people who      laughed at her were all silent, they were shocked by the huge miracle that      God did in her life.

After reading this incredible story on Facebook, I was so stirred and elated that this message came, confirming a message I preached not long ago.

tn_j0353635

What is your current situation that has made you laughing stock, even though you are a believer and love the Lord with all your heart? You pay day will come like the testimony you have just read. God is no respecter of persons.

Are you like Hannah? Those around you are popping children left right and centre but you remain barren? Your husband does not even understand your pain. He things the good things he buys for you or the money he gives you should suffice. But you know where the shoe is biting you.

Or are you like Sarah? You have waited many years for the promise but it has eluded you and so you decided to help yourself. Wait for your Isaac. Don’t go for Ishmael. Ishmael will be a thorn in your flesh. He will bring heartache.

Pray and fast with all your heart. Hannah did and God gave her Samuel- a great prophet of God. God also had mercy on Rachel and gave her Joseph- the beautiful fruitful bow. Elizabeth was also barren and was old but God gave her John the Baptist-the forerunner of Jesus Christ. Rebekah was barren too but God heard her prayers and gave her a double portion.

3     Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.

4     So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes.

Barren Sarah believed and had her Boon

7          She also said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.Gen22:1-7

Barren Rachel Had Her Boon

Genesis 30:

1     Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!”

2          And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

22   Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.

23   And she conceived and bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.”

24        So she called his name Joseph, and said, “The LORD shall add to me another son.” Gen30:1-2,22-24

Barren Rebekah had her Boon

21   Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

22   But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the LORD.

23   And the LORD said to her: ” Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

24   So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb.

Gen25:21-24

Hannah was barren and her mate made fun of her

2     And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.

5     But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the LORD had closed her womb.

6     And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb.

7     So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat. 1Sam1:2-7

But Hannah prayed with passion and prevailed

15   But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

Samuel Is Born and Dedicated

19   Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her.

20   So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the LORD.”

21   Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the LORD the yearly sacrifice and his vow.

22   But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the LORD and remain there forever.”

1Sam1:19-22

Elizabeth was barren

John’s Birth Announced to Zacharias

5     There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

6     And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

7     But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.

13   But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

14   And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.

15   For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

16   And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.

17   He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

36   Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.

37   For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Birth of John the Baptist

57   Now Elizabeth’s full time came for her to be delivered, and she brought forth a son.

58   When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her. Luke1

It shall come without any warning;

And It shall mark a New Beginning.

Many will see and they will believe

What you saw from afar and received.

So press on and leave no stone unturned.

Stretch and reach until you’ve triumphed.

Breakthrough At LAST!

Breakthrough At LAST!

Came like a blast.

Incredible,

Like a miracle.

Despite the foe,

You had a go.

Now open door,

Lifts from the floor.

Maintain your form

Ride the storm.

Go in His grace.

Reach every place.

Stand tall like Paul.

Goliath maul.

Fulfil the call.

Rise when you fall.

Seize the moment

Flow with current

Eyes on the ball

Avoid a stall.

And this is for you

Yet to breakthrough

If God is for you

Who can be against you?

14   Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.2Cor,2:14

57   But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58   Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.1Cor.15:57-58

32   He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?Rom8:31-32

Month of Great Rejoicing (by Fenny West)

Month of Great Rejoicing

Word and Scriptures of Joy

Joy unspeakable and full of Glory

What is joy?

Dictionary definition

Definition of JOY ( Merriam Webster)

1

a: the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires : delight b: the expression or exhibition of such emotion : gaiety

2

: a state of happiness or felicity : bliss

3

: a source or cause of delight

This is my definition:

This is a supernatural and extraordinary confident expectation and elation or exuberance based on your intimate knowledge of God and being able seeing beyond the natural and having a glimpse of the good things God is doing despite contrary present experience. Someone can be joyful without any particular tangible thing to point to and cannot be understood by the natural mind. It is Holy Spirit induced.

It is often misunderstood and substituted with happiness which is exuberance issuing from delightful HAPPENINGS. For example,  someone gives you a gift unexpectedly; you played and win the Lottery; you were given promotion; you got a new job after a long search.

It follows that one can be joyful despite sorrowful or adverse happenings or misfortunes- not because of the misfortunes but because of what you know about your God: His goodness, greatness, integrity, grace, unfailing love and faithfulness.

Paul and Silas could sing and pray in a dungeon

Paul and Silas sang and praised after being beaten, battered and broken and bleeding because they had joy bubbling over in them.

25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

Acts16:28-32

They saw beyond their circumstances and could therefore sing and pray loudly for other prisoners to hear them, and God responded in a spectacular way. May the joy of the Lord strengthen you with might in your inner being and may His Spirit open the eyes of you understanding to see what He is doing behind the scene despite what you’re going through. And may He cause His joy to well up within you and cause you to sing and dance and praise Him like Paul and Silas.

Judah sang praises in the face of a overwhelming, armada of enemies. That is the joy of the Lord.

King Jehoshaphat and Judah surrounded by enemies and out-numbered 100:1

15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. 17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”

18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. 19 Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high.

20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:

“Praise the Lord,
For His mercy endures forever.”]

22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.2Chro20:15-24

How does joy come?

God gives joy

Ephesians 5:18-19

New Living Translation (NLT)

18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, (Then you will sing)19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.

Joy is an evidence or hallmark or credential of being in the Kingdom of God

Romans 14:17

New Living Translation (NLT)

17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Romans 14:17

New King James Version (NKJV)

17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit

Joy in God’s Faithfulness

14 Sing, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your judgments,
He has cast out your enemy.
The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst;
You shall see disaster no more.

16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:
Do not fear;
Zion, let not your hands be weak.
17 The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”

18 “I will gather those who sorrow over the appointed assembly,
Who are among you,
To whom its reproach is a burden.
19 Behold, at that time
I will deal with all who afflict you;
I will save the lame,
And gather those who were driven out;
I will appoint them for praise and fame
In every land where they were put to shame.
20 At that time I will bring you back,
Even at the time I gather you;
For I will give you fame and praise
Among all the peoples of the earth,
When I return your captives before your eyes,”
Says the Lord.

Zeph3:14-.

Joy is not a suggestion but a command

Philippians 4:4

New King James Version (NKJV)

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Our joy should be unabated: continuous, ‘evermore’ regardless of circumstance.

Rejoice evermore

Pray without ceasing.

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  1Thess5:16-18

7       ” For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.

18     But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, And her people a joy.

19     I will rejoice in Jerusalem, And joy in My people; The voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, Nor the voice of crying.

20     ” No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.

21     They shall build houses and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

22     They shall not build and another inhabit; They shall not plant and another eat; For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, And My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

23     They shall not labor in vain, Nor bring forth children for trouble; For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, And their offspring with them.

24     ” It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear.

Isa65:17-24

Joyful confession and meditation based on Isa.65:17-24

You have been created for as a rejoicing, – a people for joy unspeakable and full of glory.

The voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in your citadels; in your household in your habitation. You will not plant and another eats but you will eat of the fruit of your labour, the harvest of your effort. You will build houses and inhabit your houses. You will not labour in vain. There shall be no more fruitless labour. Uncommon favour shall abound to you in whatever you lay your hands to do. Your children will not be born for adversity but for prosperity; they will not be born for trouble but will be born as signs and wonder and be of a blessed generation. Before you call, God will answer you and while you are yet speaking, He will hear. With long life you will be satisfied and shown God’s salvation.

Personalise

The voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in my citadels; in my household in my habitation. I will not plant and another eats but I will eat of the fruit of my labour, the harvest of my effort. I will build houses and inhabit them.  I will not labour in vain. There shall be no more fruitless labour in my life. Uncommon favour shall abound to me in whatever I lay my hands to do. My children will not be born for adversity but for prosperity; they will not be born for trouble but will be born as signs and wonder and be of a blessed generation to the glory of God.

Father, I thank you that before I call, You will answer me and while I am yet speaking, You will hear. With long life You will satisfy me and show me Your salvation.

Father, I thank you that I have been created for as a rejoicing as a redeemed of the Lord, for joy unspeakable and full of glory.

9       Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

10     Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise from the ends of the earth, You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, You coastlands and you inhabitants of them!

11     Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, The villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, Let them shout from the top of the mountains.

12     Let them give glory to the LORD, And declare His praise in the coastlands.

13     The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.

14     ” I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once.

15     I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools.

16     I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.

Isa42:

Prophetic  Word:

Rejoice child of God

Rejoice evermore

Joy is your inheritance

Your credential as a citizen

of the Kingdom of God.

Burst into jubilant song

Rejoice because the Lord God

in your midst is God.

Rejoice because He is the mighty One,

mighty to save from the ‘guttermost’

 to the uttermost.

He will quiet you with His love.

And rejoice over you with singing.

He has quashed the false, wicked, vindictive,

 satanic judgment against you.

that kept you in the cold and brought

you in into His warmth of fellowship.

Let not your passion and hope for the future wane.

You still have what it takes to succeed

So let not your hands be slack.

Keep being creative because the Holy Spirit is in you.

You will recover all lost grounds. The years that the locust has eaten will be restored.

Your shame shall be transformed into fame and your reproach shall be turned into praise.

No one will you be regarded as an outcast or barren. You shall blossom and bloom to the Glory of God who has turned your captivity into victory.

Enlarge the place of your dwelling. Be expectant of the great and mighty things that the Lord will do in your life. God will change your playing field. And those who knew you before will find it difficult to recognise you. The Lord will also renew your youth like the eagle’s, heal all your diseases, crown you with love and compassion and satisfy your mouth with good things.

1              The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;

2              It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God.

3              Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees.

4              Say to those who are fearful-hearted, ” Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”

5              Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

6              Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.

7              The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

8              A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.

9              No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,

10            And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isa35

5          For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. Ps30:5

11        Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart! Ps32:11

9          And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; It shall rejoice in His salvation. Ps35:9

Ps91:15

Ps50:15

Rom14:17

8          I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

9          Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.

10        For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One( your anointed one , the redeemed of the Lord, the ransomed, the blood-bought, to see corruption.

(You will not allow me to see decay, devastation, destruction,  stagnation, suppression, retrogression. My expectation shall not be scuppered. My dream shall be resurrected because Jesus is the resurrection and the life, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. He has the final word concerning me.

11   You will show me the path of life; (abundant life, the God-kind of life because) In Your presence is fullness of joy( joy unspeakable and full of glory); At Your right hand are pleasures( superfluous pleasure, superabundant pleasure) forevermore.Ps16:8-11

In the Holy Ghost

That’s the kingdom of God

Don’t you want to be a part

Of the kingdom

Don’t you want to be a part

Of the kingdom

Don’t you want to be a part

Of the kingdom

Come on everybody

There’s love in the kingdom

So much love in the kingdom

There’s love in the kingdom

Come on everybody

There’s peace in the kingdom

So much peace in the kingdom

There’s peace in the kingdom

Come on everybody

There’s joy in the kingdom

So much joy in the kingdom

There’s joy in the kingdom

Come on everybody

Jesus You’re the centre of my joy
Lord all that’s good and perfect
Comes from You
You’re the heart of my contentment
Hope for all I do
Jesus You’re the centre of my joy

From Captivity into Victory

The LORD your God in your midst,

The Mighty One, will save;

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

He will quiet you with His love,

He will rejoice over you with singing.”

He’ll turn your sorrow into joy

He’ll turn your shame into fame

He’ll turn your reproach into praise

Bring back your captivity into victory.

Zeph3:

The Day of Joy unspeakable

Yes, the turning of the table

Will come soon and very soon

Dispelling every doom and gloom

Eclipsing every joy you‘ve ever had.

Prepare, again I say, prepare

Start looking for your dancing shoes.

Practise your dancing steps

And sing the song of victory

Sing the song of the redeemed

That you will sing on the day.

Give glory and honour before you see.

See with the eyes of faith and rejoice.

See with the eyes of faith and give glory.

See with the eyes of faith and give thanks.

The Lord your God in the midst is mighty

He is mighty to save, mighty to deliver

Mighty to defend, mighty protect

Mighty to promote, mighty to provide.

5

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory

9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

 1Pet1:7-8

Isaiah 65:19-21

Common English Bible (CEB)

19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad about my people.

No one will ever hear the sound of weeping or crying in it again.

20 No more will babies live only a few days,

or the old fail to live out their days.

The one who dies at a hundred will be like a young person,

and the one falling short of a hundred will seem cursed.

21 They will build houses and live in them;

they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
