WORRY MAKES THINGS WORSE ( By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome)

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, WEDNESDAY, 3RD AUGUST 2022.

WORRY MAKES THINGS WORSE

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 TLB).

Don’t you just like the fact that as a Christian, you’re not supposed to worry over anything? It takes the stress out of life. Worrying only makes things worse. Recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:27 (TPT); He asked, “So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?” Refuse to worry about your rent. Refuse to worry about your health. Refuse to worry about anything!

Some people believe until they’re worried and flustered, God won’t do anything about their situation. What they don’t know is that worry actually short-circuits the power of God in one’s life. If worrying had any positive effects, God would have said, “Be worried; in fact, be very worried.” But He never said that. Rather, He said, “…forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘…what will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require?” (Matthew 6:31-32 TPT).

Worry is a “…fiery dart of the wicked” (Ephesians 6:16); so, when it attacks you, repel it. Use the Word against it. Every day, be resolute that you’re going to practise God’s Word. His Word says, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life” (Philippians 4:6-7 MSG). Hallelujah!

      CONFESSION

I repel worry with God’s Word. I’m anxious for nothing, but in everything, I make my requests known to God, and the peace of God that passes all understanding garrisons my heart and mind. All things are working together for my good; I can never be disadvantaged. Blessed be God!

    FURTHER STUDY

Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.

Receive His Word ( By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome)

RECEIVE HIS WORD

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 AMPC).

The Word of God is powerful. If you receive and believe it today, it’ll produce wonders in your life: your body, academics, family, relationships,

finances, business—everything about you. I’m referring to the Word that created the heavens and the earth (John 1:3). That same Word is the force that holds the planets in their place (Hebrews 1:3).

The Word is incorruptible, ever living and everlasting (1 Peter 1:23). It doesn’t matter where you are, if you believe and trust God’s Word, it’ll produce results. In the parable of the Sower, Jesus described four scenarios wherein the seed was sown with different results. Then He said, “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11).

A seed has the power to reproduce when you

plant it in the right soil. The question is, is your heart the right soil today? If it is, the message will reproduce itself. Just as corn seed reproduces corn, and orange seed reproduces oranges, the Word of love, hope, faith, power, prosperity, truth, strength, soundness of mind and body that I bring you every day in this devotional will reproduce itself in your life, if you receive and believe it. It’ll fill your life with the manifestation of Christ.

In Jeremiah 4:3, the Lord warned His children, “… Plow up the hardness of your hearts; otherwise the good seed will be wasted among the thorns” (TLB). I give the same charge to you today. Every day, prepare your heart for the Word by speaking in other tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself….” Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom (Colossians 3:16).

      CONFESSION

I open my heart to the Word of God and receive with meekness the love, hope, faith, power, prosperity, truth, strength, soundness of mind and body that the Word brings to me today. I embrace your Word, which is able to make me wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. I live in joy, health, peace and experience victory today because I live by the Word. Hallelujah!

Mark 4:3-8; Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

James 1:21; Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
