Step out of the Boat ( by Fenny West)

Step Out of the Boat

You have to have to step out

of the boat to walk on water.

You have to doubt your doubt;

Know there is a power higher

Able to do beyond your wildest dream.

You have to step out in faith

Saying, “If I perish, I perish,” like Esther.

And God would honour your faith

And You will not go under for going over.

He will still the storm and wind that will blow;

And you too will ride the storm and cross over.

So get out of your comfort zone

Step out of the comfort of the boat

And you’ll see the fruit of the faith sown

Defy the storm and the wind that dare.

Keep your eyes on the Author and Finisher.

Your test will surely bring a testimony.

Your obstacle will birth a miracle

Your enemies will push you into your victory.

Your adversity will bring prosperity and plenty.

Your trials will blaze the trail of your triumph.

Trust God for a miracle

In the face of the debacle

Dwell in the secret place

There you see His face.

And when you see His face

You’re sure of His hand

Your miracle will take place

And you will dance in the Land.

Walk by faith and not by sight

It’s not by power or might.

Call the things which be not as though are.

Just like the Alpha and Omega.

You are His offspring

As He is so you are.

You can do all things

Through the Bright Morning Star.

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them — walking, leaping, and praising God.9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.Acts3:1-10

9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.Matt2:9-11

Portuguese speaking came into a church in crutches where the word was preached in English but because the power of God was present to heal.  She was saved and healed.

She came back the following week in high heels!

The woman with the issue of blood said something to herself. She followed it a corresponding action. She refused to allow the throng to discourage her. She refused the law to discourage her. When the power of God is present to heal, let nothing distract you. Wade into the river and come put whole.

25   Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

29   Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”

31   But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ “

32   And He looked around to see her who had done this thing.33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

Miracle in a Mother’s Touch

Miracle in a Mother’s Touch

Born premature

He had no future.

Baby Jamie

Was born to Katie

Born dead

Pronounced dead;

Twin sister, Emily

was doing well.

Mummy was told

To give the last cuddle

Say the last rites

She was bold

Despite the hurdle

Took up her dead child

Embraced it, gave it warmth

Love, welcome, comfort & peace.

She took Jamie

On a journey

Told a story

Of the plans they had

Thanked him for coming

And staying in her womb

Even for six months

She thanked him for the great time

They had together,

those intimate moments.

She talked of the times he played

with his sister in the womb

she told him of the celebrations planned

the thanksgiving planned which will still go ahead.

She thought he was beautiful, awe-inspiring

Gorgeous, fearfully and wonderfully made

And would be remembered for ever.

She told daddy to rip off his shirt and give him

Loved and warmth too and he did. They cuddled Jamie

For two hours and he responded, opened his eyes

Came back from the Land of the dead.

When the doctors were approached to come and see

They thought the couple were not accepting their loss.

They then assured the doctors they had come to terms with their loss.

Then a doctor came and saw and believed. This is a miracle!

 Miracle in a mother’s touch.

Speak to your dead dream

Don’t go mad and bad

Keep your eyes on Him

Don’t go mad and sad

 Dealing with Your Dead Dream

Dealing with Your Dead Dream

In dealing with your dead dream

Dare to believe in your God

Dare to put your faith in Him

Dare to stand on His word.

Dare to declare His word

Dare to speak life to your dream

Doing this will bring great reward

Let His word flow like a stream.

Know that He is the resurrection

Know that He is also the Life

Relent not in this declaration

So continually speak life.

39     Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”

40     Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

41     Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

42     And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”

43     Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”

44            And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”JN11:

Dead dreams do live

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won if he’d stuck it out.

Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow

– You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than

It seems to a faint and faltering man;

Often the struggler has given up

When he might have captured the victor’s cup,

And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,

How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out –

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are –

It may be near when it seems afar;

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –

It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit

When baby Jamie was tragically born 27-weeks early his chances for life were slim. Doctors pronounced him dead and told his grieving parents to say their goodbyes. But after cuddling him against her skin and both parents whispering prayers and words of love, baby Jamie miraculously began to show signs of life. It  not what happens to you but how you respond to what happens to you that will determine the outcome of your life.

The doctors dismissed these sign as just a reflex but the parents continued to give Jamie the warmth and the love he needed and told him about his twin sister and talk to him about all their plans for him. ‘…trying to entice him to stay.’

Jamie continued to respond and improve until after two hours they had to call in the medical team who agreed a miracle had taken place.

Notice that the parents were calm about their news and decided to give their baby that best cuddle that they could before he left.

They talked to their baby as if it was alive. They did not get mad at God or anybody. Their response turned the situation around.

This can apply to any situation you face. Your attitude will determine your altitude. Your response will determine the outcome. Speak to your situation even if it is dead. Speak to it as if it is alive. Look for something to thank God for. Your victory is in your praise and thanksgiving.

What is your current situation that has made you laughing stock, even though you are a believer and love the Lord with all your heart? You pay day will come like the testimony you have just read. God is no respecter of persons.

Are you like Hannah? Those around you are popping children left right and centre but you remain barren? Your husband does not even understand your pain. He things the good things he buys for you or the money he gives you should suffice. But you know where the shoe is biting you.

Or are you like Sarah? You have waited many years for the promise but it has eluded you and so you decided to help yourself. Wait for your Isaac. Don’t go for Ishmael. Ishmael will be a thorn in your flesh. He will bring heartache.

Pray and fast with all your heart. Hannah did and God gave her Samuel- a great prophet of God. God also had mercy on Rachel and gave her Joseph- the beautiful fruitful bow. Elizabeth was also barren and was old but God gave her John the Baptist-the forerunner of Jesus Christ. Rebekah was barren too but God heard her prayers and gave her a double portion.

Sarah was Barren

30        But Sarai was barren; she had no child. Gen11:30

Sarah blundered

Genesis 16: Hagar and Ishmael

1     Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar.

2     So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.

3     Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.

4     So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes.

Barren Sarah believed and had her Boon

17   (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed — God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

18   who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”

19   And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

20   He did not waver at the

21   and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

Rom4:

Genesis 21: Isaac Is Born

1     And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken.

2     For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

3     And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him — whom Sarah bore to him — Isaac.

4     Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

5     Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

6     And Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.”

7          She also said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.Gen22:1-7

Barren Rachel Had Her Boon

Genesis 30:

1     Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!”

2          And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

22   Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.

23   And she conceived and bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.”

24        So she called his name Joseph, and said, “The LORD shall add to me another son.” Gen30:1-2,22-24

Barren Rebekah had her Boon

21   Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

22   But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the LORD.

23   And the LORD said to her: ” Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

24   So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb.

Gen25:21-24

Hannah was barren and her mate made fun of her

2     And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.

5     But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the LORD had closed her womb.

6     And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb.

7     So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat. 1Sam1:2-7

But Hannah prayed with passion and prevailed

15   But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

Samuel Is Born and Dedicated

19   Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her.

20   So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the LORD.”

21   Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the LORD the yearly sacrifice and his vow.

22   But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the LORD and remain there forever.”

1Sam1:19-22

Elizabeth was barren

John’s Birth Announced to Zacharias

5     There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

6     And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

7     But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.

13   But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

14   And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.

15   For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

16   And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.

17   He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

36   Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.

37   For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Birth of John the Baptist

57   Now Elizabeth’s full time came for her to be delivered, and she brought forth a son.

58   When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her. Luke1

LEARNING TO WALK BY FAITH (2) (By Bob Gas)

LEARNING TO WALK BY FAITH (2)

015a_th

‘...I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!‘ Mark 9:24

Here is another question to consider: What is ‘walking by sight’ (2 Corinthians 5:7)? It’s living your life based on how things look to the natural eye. It’s deciding and acting in accord with your perceptions and circumstances, rather than God’s Word. It’s being dictated to by your feelings and thoughts. Your thoughts and feelings are-yours! Examine them. Don’t let them hijack you. Use your spirit-controlled temperament to bring them under control. Too often we are sandwiched between faith and doubt, in a ‘catch-22’ between what our transformed spirit says and what our carnal mind says. One day a distraught father brought his son to Jesus for healing. Jesus told him, ‘…Everything is possible for one who believes’ (Mark 9:23 NIV). At that point the boy’s father said, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’ At times we experience both faith and doubt. This man was honest about his doubts, yet Jesus still worked a miracle for him. If he had needed correcting, Jesus would have corrected him. If his faith was not genuine, the Lord would have known it. But Jesus accepted his declaration of faith, despite his doubts. There are three lessons here for us: 1) Don’t be afraid to acknowledge your doubts. 2) Don’t let your doubts overrule your faith. God’s Word in the matter is God’s will for you; stand on it. 3) Hand your doubts over to the Lord and say, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’ How long does it take to learn to walk by faith? A lifetime!
