Ascribe Greatness to the Rock our God

God Gave Jesus As Gift
God gave Jesus as Gift-
The greatest Christmas Gift,
Who stooped so low to lift,
And so ended the rift.
Born in a barn- stable,
Sounded like a fable.
All things are possible,
To God Who’s well able.
Because of compassion,
Sort reconciliation.
Jesus brought redemption.
No more condemnation.
With sheep shared a place,
All because of His grace;
For us to see His Face;
Enter the throne of Grace.

Our Salvation came
The Son of God was born
Heralding a New Dawn.
The wonder of the Babe
Of the Bethlehem was:
Our Redeemer came
The Prince of Peace was Born
Joy came to all who mourned.
The Good News of the Babe
Of Bethlehem was:
The Lamb of God came
To take away our sin;
To lift us out of the bin.
The gladness of the Babe
Of Bethlehem was:
That God came to man
For man to come to God
According to the divine plan.

This Christmas Let Us Focus
This Christmas let us focus
On the Son of God-Jesus
Who came and went to the cross
Took our sin, shame and curse.
The light of God shone on us
The dead, the blind, diseased-us
He brought hope to the hopeless
He brought life to the lifeless.
He will come back one day
To take home those in the way.
Today is the day of salvation
Today is the day of redemption.
As in the days of Noah, so shall it be
The foolish will scoff, the wise will be ready
Decisions determined destiny
Choices carry consequences.

Those Who Run the Race of Grace
Those who run the Race of Grace
Will not run the Christmas rat-race
They will maintain their focus
Rather than give gifts, they give Jesus.
Those who run the race of Grace
In All they do Always seek His face
They ensure they within the Word
Even though they are in the world.
They know full well they are not of this world
They know that His word is His will and His will is His word
They know God’s good, acceptable and perfect will
That is their joy, pleasure, craving and even their fill.

Do Not Love the World
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world.
17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Whereas I am all for using the reason for the reason to point people to Jesus and the cross and lead them to salvation, following the world to indulge in a season of greed, drunkenness, indebtedness is surely not our calling.
This is a time when people claim to celebrate the birth of Jesus and yet many would not want the ‘Birthday Boy’ into His party. Mention Jesus in most of the razzmatazz and you will be considered a party pooper.
I recall the story of Moody who was invited to a party and he asked them, ‘Can I bring my friend? And they asked him what is his name? He told them, Jesus.
The reply was, ‘I don’t think He would enjoy it.’
Moody politely told them,’ then I wouldn’t enjoy it either.’
What would Jesus do in this season? What is the priority on God’s agenda. If all we do is wine and dine then we have missed the mark, in my opinion.Offer to take Jesus to most of the worldly celebrations and you would see the curious looks on most faces. That says it all. We are in this world but not of this world. We are called to be different. ‘Come out from among them.’ ‘You are in this world but not of the world.’
Should Christmas be Celebrated?

Can spell crises
Dissipate energies
Court indebtedness
Embrace wastefulness
Open a can of worms
Better be warned.
So worship the King
And to Him let us sing
Let Him be the focus
Not goods, not pleasure, not us.
Let Him take His rightful place
That we might see His Face.
3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’
5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God” —
6 then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
8 ‘ These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ “
