Mystery of the Trinity ( by Fenny West)

The Mystery of the Trinity

We have one God who expresses Himself in three Persons.  Let us look at the scriptures which confirm this deep truth. To the natural mind it does not make sense. That is why the word of God tells us that the truth of God is foolishness to the natural mind and has to be spiritually discerned.

9 But as it is written:

” Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,Nor have entered into the heart of manThe things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

16 For

“who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.1Cor2:9-15

The Trinity in Creation

Genesis 1: The History of Creation
At Creation the Father, Son and Spirit were present

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Gen1:1-3
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Through Jesus the world was made

John 1: The Eternal Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

God exalted Jesus

The Humbled and Exalted Christ

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil2:5-11

Jesus is God, the Father was represented and expressed by Jesus.

17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ” John 20:17
The Father Revealed
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

Thomas confessed Him as God

Seeing and Believing

24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”
27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

The Holy Spirit is God

3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?
4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

Hebrews 1: God’s Supreme Revelation

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Heb1:1-3
We were enjoined to go and make disciples in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Matt28:19-20

God and Prayer

Jesus taught us to pray to the Father
8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Matt6:
Jesus spoke of the Father
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John4:23-24
Jesus prayed to the Father
John 17: Jesus Prays for Himself
1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,
2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
John17:

Disciples prayed to the Father

24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,
25 who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘ Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things?
26 The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the LORD and against His Christ.’
27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together
28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.
29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,
30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Acts4:

Life is in the Son

11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1John5:11-12
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John14:6

The Holy Spirit Gives power

8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts1:8
Isaiah 11: The Reign of Jesse’s Offspring
1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
Isa11:1-2

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the
forgiveness of sins.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Reconciled in Christ
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,
20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled Col1:13-21

Mystery of the Trinity

Mystery of the Trinity
One God, yet, in three Persons
Father, Son and the Spirit
Each with His responsibility
All in agreement, in symphony
Undeniable oneness, unity.

To the Father You have to pray;
You have to pray in Jesus Name.
Jesus is the one and only Way.
But the Spirit opens your eyes;
Opens your eyes to the cross;
Convicts you of sin, unrighteousness;
Impresses on you the need to be clean;
Enables you to cross over-
crossover from death to life.

You have access by the Spirit;
Who is the Spiritual Mid-wife
Helping you in your New Birth
The blood of Jesus paves the way
The blood of Jesus atones for you
He paid the great price for the prize:
Salvation, Redemption, New Creation.
He intercedes for you- pleads His blood.
He is your Attorney and Advocate.

The Spirit intercedes for you.
He prays through you,
According to God’s perfect will.
He is your Attorney, Advocate
Standby, Guide, Teacher, Comforter
Strengthener, Helper, Counsellor
Refiner’s fire, Spirit of Grace, Spirit of Life
Spirit of Jesus, Spirit of God, Administrator.
He brings dynamism,
anointing that breaks yokes-
yokes of bondage, oppression
depression, defeat;
opens the eyes of your Spirit
interprets the Word, makes it rhema.

Through Jesus all things were made
He was with the Father, from the beginning
He has no beginning and has no ending
He is the Alpha and the Omega
He baptises with the Holy Spirit
And gives the Ministry Gifts
Apostles, Pastors, Evangelists
Prophet and Teachers.

The Father Gives
gifts to the world:
Prophet, Teaching,
Extra-ordinary Giving
Mercy and Exhortation.

The Holy Spirit gives:
Power gifts: Healings,
Working of miracles,
Extra-ordinary faith;
Revelation gifts: Discernment of Spirit
Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom;
Utterance gifts: Tongues (for the Body)
Interpretation of tongues, Prophecy.
The Holy Spirit is here in place of Jesus;
He was in the beginning
And very much God; the creative agent
Has come to abide for ever
In the New Creature, in the believer.

You cannot be saved
Unless you come to the Father
You cannot be saved
Unless you come in Jesus’ Name
You cannot be saved
Unless the Holy Spirit convicts you.

Do You need God-the Father?
Comer through God the Son
Yield as the Spirit convicts you of sin.
Then you will understand
The Mystery of the Trinity.

Those Who Know Their God…

“Come on, let’s play snap: Charlie, 3, gets to grips with alligator Gump

“Most children enjoy playing with a puppy or kitten – or anything which is unlikely to take a chunk out of them.

“But fearless three-year-old Charlie Parker prefers sharp and snappy to cute and fluffy as he plays with a North American baby alligator named Gump.

“He comes from a long line of animal carers who own and run the Ballarat Wildlife Park in Victoria.

“Proud father and park owner Greg Parker said ‘wildlife warrior’ Charlie had grown up round the sanctuary.

‘We didn’t go out to encourage it but he just loves reptiles,’ he added.

‘Like everybody, he’s frightened of some things, others not so much. He can be an ambassador for conservation and animal welfare and I think it’s great.’

The award-winning park is home to more than 80 kangaroos, koalas, wombats and a variety of reptiles”

So what is our inspiration from this unusual source?

Those who know well their God

And know well His word

And know well His Spirit

Shall do incredible exploits,

Just like Charlie Conquered Gump.

Abraham staggered not at the promise Rom4:

And laughter- Isaac- was born Gen.21

David walloped Goliath of Gath 1Sam17

And turned on the light in Israel.

Shamgar with an ox goad Judges 3:31

Slew over 600 Philistines.

They will fear no evil

And trample on the devil

When he surfaces to challenge.

Like Paul wrote 13 best-sellers

Like Peter’s shadow securing healing Acts 5:15-16

Like Isaac prevailed in Gerar Gen26

Like Jacob prevailed and became a prince Gen32:28

Like David drowned the enemy in Ziklag1Sam30:1

Like Gideon and 300 trounced the Medianites Judges 6& 7

Like Esther averted holocaust Esther4

Daniel shut the mouths of lions Dan6:

His friends quenched the power of flames Dan3:

Joseph went from pit to palaceGen41:

Phinehas stopped the plaguePs106:30

Elijah called down fire and stopped the rain1ki17:1

Like John Mark bounced back 2Tim4:11

Like C.H. Spurgeon, John Bunyan, John Hyde

Reinhard Bonnke, Smith Wigglesworth and many more.

Guess what? You too can.

I can too.

Why?

God is no respecter of persons.

He has no grand children.

If you know Him well

Know His word well

Know His Spirit well

Willing to be bruised

Then you too will be used.

19   If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; Isa1:19

31   What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Rom8:31

4     You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.1John4:4

7     If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

8     By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.John15:7-8

16   He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

17   And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

18   they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mark16:16-18

  1. Acts      10:34

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

So the Onus is on you and I

The choice is yours and mine

If we pay the price,

We will obtain the prize.
