Challenges Come to Change

Your Playing Field (2)Joseph

Joseph faced a great challenge

As a youth, God not only revealed Himself to Joseph, but also gave him a glimpse, a picture of his future, his destiny and purpose through a dream.

In that dream, it was unmistakable that he would be famous, acclaimed, celebrated and others would be subservient to him, including his family members.

When he shared his dream innocently with them, all hell broke loose. His brothers became offended, envious and vindictive. They wanted to snuff out his dream as soon as possible. They desperately sought for the opportunity to do so.

Meanwhile, Joseph dreams again and the dream reinforces his earlier dream and he did not shy in sharing his dream again, oblivious of the anger, fury and pain he was causing to his brothers.

It was no doubt a challenge to the purpose of his life.

You may face similar challenges as you share your dream with people around you. But don’t Stop dreaming.

Do not stop dreaming because of challenges or opposition because opposition births or brings promotion.

Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.”

And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.

Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.” Gen.37:5-9

All things are not good, but all things work together for good to those who love God. God had planned that Israel will be in Egypt for 400 years. And he had a part to play in that plan, though unbeknown to him. So the opposition he faced was working for his good. The evil that befell him was a ladder to climb up. He seemed to be going down but he was actually going up. What a paradox!

Judas betrayed Jesus which led to his crucifixion. Satan inspired the betrayal and crucifixion. So as the challenge worked for Jesus, so it worked for Joseph. His brothers were malicious, vindictive and wicked yet God used them to fulfil His plan and purpose. So be like Joseph dream again even if your dream is opposed, so long as you know the dream is from God. In fact, it was God who was reinforcing the dream, to encourage Joseph during his opposition and obvious discouragement. However, it is better to share your dreams with those who will believe with you or encourage you than to share it with those who will pour water on your dreams. But we all make mistakes. But God is able to use those mistakes and turn them into messages. Remember, when David’s elder brother disdained him when he was sharing his testimony before taking on Goliath, David turned away and shared with those who will believe him. And he went on to fell and completely decapitated and destroyed the mountainous, formidable fighting machine.

Well, his brothers were in the forest on their father’s mission and he sent Joseph on an errand to take some food to them. This was the opportunity they sought.  As they saw him coming, one of them said, “Behold, the dreamer is coming!” Let us kill him and see what comes of that dream.”

They relieved him of the food and stripped him of his coat of many colours that his dad had specifically made for him and dumped him into a pit.  You can imagine the anguish, trauma and dismay he faced. He brought food, did what was good to his brothers but was being repaid with evil.

But all things were working together for his good. One of them reasoned, “What is the point killing our brother? Let us instead make a merchandise of him, sell him and make some money out of him.”

18 Now when they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him. 19 Then they said to one another, “Look, this dreamer is coming! 20 Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!”

21 But Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands, and said, “Let us not kill him.” 22 And Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit which is in the wilderness, and do not lay a hand on him”—that he might deliver him out of their hands, and bring him back to his father. Gen.37:18-22

They all agreed and Joseph was brought out of the pit and sold off as a slave to some merchants. This was how Joseph ended up in Egypt, in the house of one of the commanders in the Pharaoh’s army, Potiphar.

He was Potiphar’s houseboy and was a houseboy with a difference. He excelled in his role and as a result, there was prosperity in the house. His master noticed that Joseph was exceptional, a man of integrity, purity and probity and trustworthy so he left everything in his charge. He used his challenge to change his playing field. He had the option to moan being traded like a chattel and ending up as a house boy despite the grandiose dream he had from God, but chose those use it as a ladder to climb up. So he became a houseboy who was like the owner of the house, because God gave him favour with his master. He did not allow what happened to him to affect the way he served his master. If anything, he became better, excellent, going the extra-mile and trusting God. He glorified God and God made him a wonder to his master. His master saw him as a great asset and promoted him.

You can do the same in that place where you are even though you think you should be in a better place. God is watching your attitude. Make a difference. Make your mark and mark what God will do in your life.

Another Challenge

The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Gen. 39:2-6

Challenges do not just come just once. They come again and again, and we should expect them and maintain our probity, integrity and purity and complete our purpose in life.

Potiphar’s wife lusted after Joseph because he was good looking, may be well groomed, macho and hunky. She wanted Joseph to have an affair with her. She tempted Joseph many times but he refused, until one day, whilst doing his chores in her room, she grabbed him and demanded that he made love to her. This was not only a challenge but a bait of Satan, come to derail him. But Joseph would not fall for it. He refused to compromise his loyalty, integrity and purity. He left his coat with her and ran away.

Since her sinister ploy failed, she raised an alarm for the whole neighbours around to come out and witness what she alleged Joseph had done to her. She accused him of coming to violate her and was sobbing. It was her word against his. She must have cried or sobbed, using emotional blackmail and won their sympathy, support and avowal.

10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph, day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.

11 But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. 13 And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside, 14 that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to [f]mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice. 15 And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside.” Gen. 39:10-15

When his master came back, she dramatised the whole episode, and he believed her.  I think he did it reluctantly. But Joseph was sent to jail. This was another challenge- from houseboy to rape suspect to prisoner.

16 So she kept his garment with her until his master came home. 17 Then she spoke to him with words like these, saying, “The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me; 18 so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.”

19 So it was, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, “Your servant did to me after this manner,” that his anger was aroused. 20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison. Gen39:16-20

On the face of it, it appeared Joseph’s dream was taking him down rather than up. He had been taken away from his family, and now he is in jail.

How Did He Face this Challenge?

Joseph, like Jesus, saw the glory ahead and so not only endures the challenge but used it as a stepping stone to a higher ground.

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb. 12:2

How?

He maintained his integrity, purity and excellence and even added to this, empathy. He was exceptional again in prison, such that the prison warden noticed him and made him an overseer of other prisoners. He always noticed the countenance of the other prisoners and enquired about their welfare. He did not blame others for his woes. His challenges made him better and not bitter or jealous.

21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing. 23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under  Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper. Gen39:21-23

On one occasion he noticed the anguish and anxiety in the faces of some prisoners and asked them what was amiss. They had dreams that perplexed them and badly wanted an interpretation. They told Joseph about their dreams and desirous of helping them, he was given the interpretation which he shared with them. Boldly he told them the interpretations and it turned out exactly how he interpreted them.

One of them, a butler of the king, was released within three days and restored. Joseph had entreated him not to forget him when he was restored, but he forgot Joseph for two whole years, until Pharaoh himself had a dream that perplexed him and there was no one in the land that could interpret it.

20 Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. 21 Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand. 22 But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. 23 Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him. Gen40:20-23

Then the butler remembered Joseph and told the king about him. Joseph was immediately summoned to the palace and there he interpreted the king’s dream, to his amazement, delight and great joy.

Change of Playing Field

Joseph, the prisoner was catapulted from prison to the palace and became the second in command in the land. A foreigner became the Prime Minister.

Joseph’s Rise to Power

37 So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”

39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be [g]over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” 41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt. 44 Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” Gen.41:37-44

All his challenges worked for him; they were stepping stones to a higher ground; they were a blessing in disguise.

Notice that Joseph’s attitude mattered a great deal as to what the outcome became. This tells us that although God has the best plans for us, it does not mean that we would not be challenged or tested. We have our part to play when the challenges come. And our responses to the challenges we face on the way will determine the eventual outcome. One thing is certain: the challenge has come to change our playing field. If we pass the test, promotion will come. and if we fail the test, demotion will come. What do you want as an outcome in your current test? If your want to rise, do what Joseph did and you will surely climb higher and higher. You will be formidable, unconquerable, unstoppable, indomitable and unassailable.

11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jer 29:11

11…. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. MSG

Some people would have ruled themselves out of anything about dreams because of the initial opposition to their dream. But Joseph dared to interpret the dream of his inmates. He also dared to interpret the king’s dream. As you make things happen for others, God will make things happen for you. He maintained an impressive, impeccable and excellent character that made him stand out. And favour always followed him.

Yes, eventually, his challenges changed his playing field for the better. As the Prime Minister in a foreign land, set a precedent that has encouraged others after him to believe that with God all things are possible. You can be a trend-setter, trail-blazer, shining and burning, as an unquenchable light, giving glory to your Maker, demonstrating that it does not matter what challenges you face, but it is your responses to them that matter.

Do you want to rise to a greater and higher playing field? If so, embrace your challenges. Welcome them as friends come to lift you. See them as ladders for the next rung of your progress. Maintain an attitude of gratitude for them and you can be assured of rising to a higher altitude. Hallelujah!

Challenges Come to Change

Charge Ahead As Head ( by Fenny West)

As a son of God, co-worker with God, an ambassador of God, you need to be assured of what He has called you to do and to be.

Without a shadow of a doubt, you and I have been called to be the head and not the tail. We are God’s own chosen people, his treasured possession, peculiar people, called to show forth His glory and praises in this world.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;1Pet2:9

We are His icons and beacons. And to fulfil what He has called us to, we must be led of the Holy Spirit who has been called to guide us into all truth. The Holy Spirit gives us the advantage and the cutting edge in whatever we do.  He shows us things to come and reminds us of what He has told us in times past.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come John16:7,13

Dominion is our mandate. This was God’s original dream for you and I before Adam fell and gave dominion to satan. Through Christ that status was restored to all who believe and have surrendered their lives to Him. To maintain your dominion, you must know that it is your inheritance.

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [a]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Gen1:26.

Never consider yourself as one who has arrived but challenge yourself, stretch yourself, set ambitious goals. Know that you have a big God, so your vision must be big too. And know that if you can think it, God can and will surpass it.  So, daily to go the extra-mile for His name’s sake.  Tell yourself that there is more land that needs to be taken.
Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed. Joshua13:1

Distinguish yourself like Daniel and His friends. They honoured God and God made them ten times better than their peers. Be like Joseph of old who was very diligent, excellent and highly reliable. Know that God is with you just as He was with Joseph and this is what made the difference.

Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. Dan6:3

“Enlarge the place of your tent,
    stretch your tent curtains wide,
    do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
    strengthen your stakes.
For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
    your descendants will dispossess nations
and settle in their desolate cities. Isa54:2-3

I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Josh1:3

Press on for the mark of the prize of the high-calling in Christ in spite of obstacles or opposition or difficult terrains. Use the obstacles to leap into a higher and greater dimension. Press on until you finish and finish well to the glory of your Maker and your God.

Adopt the attitude and mentality of Paul who gave his all after his encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ and his conversion.

10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Phil3:10-14

Would it not be wonderful if you too at the end of your life can say like Paul:

Paul’s Valedictory

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

So, my friend, charge ahead as the head, You were born to be the head and not the tail.  You were born to win. Be a master over circumstances. Use the authority and dominion that God has bestowed on you and win every battle, leap over every wall and run through any troop. Do not allow the enemy to short-change you. Outwit him whenever and wherever he shows up by submitting to God. Be led of the Holy Spirit. Be so intimate with Him as to receive insights and advance revelation inside knowledge of what your adversary may be planning or doing. Receive divine winning strategies and implement them and surge ahead as head always.

Follow Your Dreams( by Fenny West)

Acrostic Word

Follow Your Dreams

Follow your dreams, your purpose, your assignment and vision regardless of opposition, obstacles, barriers or impediment.

Everything is possible, if only you can dream about it

Boldly

Realise that you have God’s DNA. As He is so you are in this world, go where angels dread

Understand that you have the divine nature and

Apply who you are in Christ always

Relentlessly pursue your godly goals and you will be amazed where it will take you

Paul, writing to the Philippians, wrote: “I press toward the goal, for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:14 and in 2Peter1:3, it is written: As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us into glory and virtue. And in James 2:17 it is written: Thus also, faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

So, my friend, follow your dreams. Have Big Dreams! And go big time for your dreams. Pursue your dreams passionately, relentlessly.

When David saw Goliath, he saw a prize to be obtained. What the king give to one who brings him down. He knew that he had a God with Whom all things were possible. And so, whilst others were quaking in their boots, David was energised, enthused and invigorated for what God would do through him. He kept recalling what God had done in times past and saw the battle as God’s.

David saw in Goliath, a dream for his greatness, promotion and upliftment. The way you see your opposition and obstacles matters a great deal. I counsel you to see them as stepping stones to a higher ground. See them as ladders to your greatness. See them as opportunities for God to display His power and promote you. See them like Caleb and Joshua saw the giants- as bred.

David was sure he would bring Goliath down because he knew the God he served. He told Goliath:

“You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it.

Yes, regardless of how macho Goliath was, David knew that with God all things were possible and he focused on the power of His God. And guess what, he brought Goliath down,

Notice that it was Goliath who had a sword, but David spoke of cutting off his head, and so it was. So say what you want to see and not what you see. Speak in line with God’s mind for you. Say what God says about you and enter your promised land. No foe can stop you. You are unconquerable, formidable and indomitable in Christ.  Through our God we shall do valiantly. You are more than a conqueror. (Rom8:37) If God be for you who can be against you. Possess your possession (Obad1:17).

And so you under the sound of my voice or reading this, pursue your dreams, follow your purpose and God will back you.

His word says, “We are sufficient in His sufficiency.” (2Cor.3:6) His word says: “All things are possible to those who believe. (Matt19:26) His word says, “Stand and see the salvation of the Lord. (Ex.14:13 ) His word says, “ If God be for us who can be against us? (Rom8:31)

Follow your dreams my friend and God will back you and take you to your Promised Land.

God Will Do Wonders ( by Fenny West)

He is an awesome. powerful, exceedingly abundantly able God. Who specializes in doing wonders. If you can think it, He can exceed it. Eph3:20

All things are possible with Him.

Is it your ministry? He will do wonders if you put it in His hands and believe Him against all odds. Moses, thought it was over for him when 40 years had passed since he was self-exiled in Midian. His vision, vision and purpose, was as good as dead. But Jesus remains the resurrection and the life in all situations, including those that are dead. Even as He arrived at the house of Lazarus that had been dead for four days and buried, it was not late in His books. He commanded death to loosen its grip on him and called him back to life. This was in effect what He did to Moses. You know the story. Moses, at 80 was relaunched and God used him to lead about 6million Israelites out of the House of Bondage into a glorious liberty. Think of all the Wonders that God used Moses to accomplish and before he died, he remained strong, vibrant, vivacious and with a 20:20 vision.

And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. Deut. 34:7

Is It your health?

If He is the resurrection and the life, what is healing to Him. There is no disease that He cannot cure. Healing Streams flow from Him and His throne of grace. Like the water in Ezekiel 47:1-12. Reach out and touch and be healed. Matt.9:18-26

  • That same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells within you and shall vitalize your mortal body. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and cannot be desecrated by disease. Arise from the bed of languishing. He has given to you all that pertain to life and godliness and sickness and disease are not part of the package. Romans 8:11 New King James Version 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies [ a]through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Rather He said:Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.  3John2,

It is written 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10 :38

Is it your finances?

He remains Jehovah Jireh and provides all that we need according to His riches in glory. Silver and gold belong to Him. The cattle on the thousand hills are His. He fed the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. When there was a need to pay money owed, he told his disciples to go and catch a fish and in its mouth was the fish.

Is it fruitfulness or productivity?

Peter and his fishing partners had toiled all night with abysmal results. They were highly dispirited and were washing their nets, then Jesus showed up, used their boat and told them what to do. They followed His instruction and make a catch of their life- a Wonder-catch!

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Luke 5:5-8

He has called us to fruitfulness.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John15:16

Is it the fruit of the womb?

The God of Abraham and Sarah is your God. Against hope, they believe in Hope and was not disappointed. God gave them Laughter (Isaac). God will soon give you your laughter.

The God of Hannah, Rebekah (Gen25:24-34), Elizabeth and Zakariah, Gen25:24-34 Manoah and wife (Judges13:2-25) and Rachel (Gen30:22-26) is your God. If He did it for them, why will He not do it for you? In fact, those who are challenged in this area are blessed with a wonder and movers and shakers in their generation- like Samuel, Jacob, Joseph, John the Baptist and Samson.

21 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.

Gen.21:1-7

19 And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her.

20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord. 1Sam.1:19-20

24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. Gen25:24

He is always the same and faithful. His mercies are knew every morning.

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Lam:3:22-24
