Finish Your Assignment ( By Fenny West)

Child of God and saint of the Most -High God, know beyond doubt that you are born with a purpose, an assignment, a reason for being. Do you know what it is? And are you fulfilling it?

Jesus knew why He said “For this purpose I was born.” The sin of man has come to save that which was lost. He came to deliver those who were dead in sin, hopeless, sitting in the darkness and when He died, He made an atonement for everyone. He paid the price- the full price.

Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this I have come into the world: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.” NASB

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
    because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, Luke4:18

Now anyone who accepts the finished work on calvary’s cross, crosses over from damnation into salvation and reconciliation with God.

Similarly, you and I were born for a purpose, just like everything created has a purpose.

Born for His Praise

In 1Peter 2:9 we were told:But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

We Were Created for Good Works

10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Eph2:10

We are Ambassadors

18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2Cor5:18

We were called to be co-workers with God

For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.1 Cor3:9

Apart from these general purposes of Christians, each believer has a particular assignment that they were created and equipped to fulfil. Unless you seek God’s face you will not know what it is.

Paul sought God for his unique purpose and was not disappointed.

17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus. Gal1:17

He fulfilled it and was able to say at the end of his assignment:

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing 2Tim4:6-8

When David had fulfilled his assignment, he departed. That is what should be said of you and I.

For David, after he had served God’s will and purpose and counsel in his own generation, fell asleep [in death] and was buried among his forefathers, and he did see corruption and undergo putrefaction and dissolution [of the grave]. AMPC

So, my friend, find your purpose, develop that purpose and deploy it and finish your assignment.
