The Fight of Faith

The Fight of Faith is good

If it is well understood

Jesus began it and ended it.

He showed us how to fight it

He won it for us

on Calvary’s cross

It made us overcomers

And more than conquerors.

The fight of faith is spiritual

Beyond the natural

We see the invisible

And do the impossible.

Because you’re on the winning side.

And regardless of the ocean wide,

No matter what betide,

On the storms of life you can ride;

All because of the Greater One on the inside.

Yes, Jesus has gone ahead of you

To clinch the victory.

He is in you. He is for you,

And with you.

So rejoice, again I say rejoice

Because there are more with you

 than are against you.

The Fight of Faith Is a good fight.

For you to fight

Not by your might

But as of a right

By the Spirit

Day and night.

So let’s do it

With boldness

And confidence

And importunity

at every opportunity.

Keep Your Prayer Fire Ever Ablaze

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.”
Leviticus 6:13

Keep the altar of private prayer burning. This is the very life of all piety. The sanctuary and family altars borrow their fires here, therefore let this burn well. Secret devotion is the very essence, evidence, and barometer, of vital and experimental religion.

Burn here the fat of your sacrifices. Let your closet seasons be, if possible, regular, frequent, and undisturbed. Effectual prayer availeth much. Have you nothing to pray for? Let us suggest the Church, the ministry, your own soul, your children, your relations, your neighbours, your country, and the cause of God and truth throughout the world. Let us examine ourselves on this important matter. Do we engage with lukewarmness in private devotion? Is the fire of devotion burning dimly in our hearts? Do the chariot wheels drag heavily? If so, let us be alarmed at this sign of decay. Let us go with weeping, and ask for the Spirit of grace and of supplications. Let us set apart special seasons for extraordinary prayer. For if this fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of a worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on the family altar, and lessen our influence both in the Church and in the world.

The text will also apply to the altar of the heart. This is a golden altar indeed. God loves to see the hearts of his people glowing towards himself. Let us give to God our hearts, all blazing with love, and seek his grace, that the fire may never be quenched; for it will not burn if the Lord does not keep it burning. Many foes will attempt to extinguish it; but if the unseen hand behind the wall pour thereon the sacred oil, it will blaze higher and higher. Let us use texts of Scripture as fuel for our heart’s fire, they are live coals; let us attend sermons, but above all, let us be much alone with Jesus.

Keep Digging ( by Don & Dawn)

Memory Verse of the Day
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up”
(Galatians 6:9, NLT)

.

There was a story back in the 1800s about a group of explorers who got lost in the middle of a desert.

After using up their water supply, then began to dig under the sand in hopes of finding water.

But unfortunately none of them were able to find any, and none survived the ordeal.

Several years later, it was found out that there was indeed water just a few feet below the spot where they were digging. If they hadn’t given up, they would’ve been able to drink fresh water to their heart’s content.

The same can be said about doing good, particularly in relation to today’s Scripture.

Whenever you are struggling with life, or having a bad break at your career, or having a difficult time with a relationship, you are simply experiencing a dry spell.

Don’t quit. Dig. Rake in the soil and dig like there’s no tomorrow because you never know when the Lord shall shower you with His favor and blessings, whose arrival into your life is only a matter of time.

Keep digging until you tap in to the well of the Lord’s goodness!

In Him,

Persistence Pays Plenty

Persistence pays plenty
For those who push and press
Despite the resistance
And the opposition.

Flowing with milk and honey.

Their obedience shall pay.
Consistency shall pay.
Their diligence shall pay.

Fearless, Persistent Friend

A Friend Comes at Midnight

5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;
6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;
7 and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?
8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Praying in the Holy Ghost ( by C.H. Spurgeon)

ecards prevailing prayers1 jesus interceding come comforter AG00574_ j0236249

Jude 20:

Praying in the Holy Ghost.

Mark the grand characteristic of true prayer-“In the Holy Ghost.” The seed of acceptable devotion must come from heaven’s storehouse. Only the prayer which comes from God can go to God. We must shoot the Lord’s arrows back to Him. That desire which He writes upon our heart will move His heart and bring down a blessing, but the desires of the flesh have no power with Him. Praying in the Holy Ghost is praying in fervency. Cold prayers ask the Lord not to hear them. Those who do not plead with fervency, plead not at all. As well speak of lukewarm fire as of lukewarm prayer-it is essential that it be red hot. It is praying perseveringly. The true suppliant gathers force as he proceeds, and grows more fervent when God delays to answer. The longer the gate is closed, the more vehemently does he use the knocker, and the longer the angel lingers the more resolved is he that he will never let him go without the blessing. Beautiful in God’s sight is tearful, agonizing, unconquerable importunity. It means praying humbly, for the Holy Spirit never puffs us up with pride. It is His office to convince of sin, and so to bow us down in contrition and brokenness of spirit. We shall never sing Gloria in excelsis except we pray to God De profundis: out of the depths must we cry, or we shall never behold glory in the highest. It is loving prayer. Prayer should be perfumed with love, saturated with love-love to our fellow saints, and love to Christ. Moreover, it must be a prayer full of faith. A man prevails only as he believes. The Holy Spirit is the author of faith, and strengthens it, so that we pray believing God’s promise. O that this blessed combination of excellent graces, priceless and sweet as the spices of the merchant, might be fragrant within us because the Holy Ghost is in our hearts! Most blessed Comforter, exert Thy mighty power within us, helping our infirmities in prayer

Whatever You Need, He is

Psalm 67:6

God, even our own God.

C.H. Spurgeon

It is strange how little use we make of the spiritual blessings which God gives us, but it is stranger still how little use we make of God Himself. Though He is “our own God,” we apply ourselves but little to Him, and ask but little of Him. How seldom do we ask counsel at the hands of the Lord! How often do we go about our business, without seeking His guidance! In our troubles how constantly do we strive to bear our burdens ourselves, instead of casting them upon the Lord, that He may sustain us! This is not because we may not, for the Lord seems to say, “I am thine, soul, come and make use of me as thou wilt; thou mayst freely come to my store, and the oftener the more welcome.” It is our own fault if we make not free with the riches of our God. Then, since thou hast such a friend, and He invites thee, draw from Him daily. Never want whilst thou hast a God to go to; never fear or faint whilst thou hast God to help thee; go to thy treasure and take whatever thou needest-there is all that thou canst want. Learn the divine skill of making God all things to thee. He can supply thee with all, or, better still, He can be to thee instead of all. Let me urge thee, then, to make use of thy God. Make use of Him in prayer. Go to Him often, because He is thy God. O, wilt thou fail to use so great a privilege? Fly to Him, tell Him all thy wants. Use Him constantly by faith at all times. If some dark providence has beclouded thee, use thy God as a “sun;” if some strong enemy has beset thee, find in Jehovah a “shield,” for He is a sun and shield to His people. If thou hast lost thy way in the mazes of life, use Him as a “guide,” for He will direct thee. Whatever thou art, and wherever thou art, remember God is just what thou wantest, and just where thou wantest, and that He can do all thou wantest.

Praise Him in the winter

Praise Him in the Summer.

Praise Him when you are sick

Praise Him when you are well

Praise Him at all times, no matter the weather- rain or shine.

1     I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2     My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.

3     Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.

Ps34:1-3

1     Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

2     Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

Ps107:1-2

20   Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.

21   And he said: ” Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD.”

22   In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

Job1:20-22

Job14:7

35   Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.

Heb10:35

3     And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

4     and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

5     Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Rom5

20   according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

Phil1;20

37   Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

38   For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

39   nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rom8:37-39

21   And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: ” Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.”

22   Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
