Crucifixion and Resurrection ( Prophetic) (by Fenny West)

A prophetic look at the Crucifixion and Resurrection

What Wonderful Words of Prophecies!

The Father said He would send a Saviour after man fell

15            And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” Gn3:15

He was foreshadowed in a prophecy to Abraham

3     I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Gen.12:3

Isaiah saw it about 800 years before He came

14            Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.Isa7:14

6     For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7              Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.Isa9:6-8

David gave us graphic descriptions of the crucifixion about 1000 of years before He came and died on the cross

Psalms 22: The Suffering, Praise, and Posterity of the Messiah To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Deer of the Dawn.” A Psalm of David.

1     My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?

6     But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people.

7     All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8     “He trusted in the LORD, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

12   Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.

13   They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.

14   I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me.

15   My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death.

16   For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;

17   I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.

18   They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.

20   Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog

21            Save Me from the lion’s mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me.

He came to save us from our Sins

21   And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Matt1:21

29   The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

He Knew Why He Came

Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” John18:37

18   ” The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

19   To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

He confirmed all the prophecies in His ministry and in His crucifixion and resurrection

Resurrection

7     Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

8     Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle.

9     Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

10                                Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

Ps24:7-10

10   For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

11   You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

“Why do you seek the living among the dead?Ps16:10-11

6     He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,Luke24:6

Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

He set his face like a flint to face the music of the cross despite its horror.

21   From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

22   Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”

23   But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

He Himself said:

“All right,” Jesus replied. “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”  Luke2:19

39Jesus replied, “A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For just as Jonah wasthree days and three nightsas  in the belly of the great fish,so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.  Matt12:39-40

On the cross, He prayed for those crucifying Him

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are
doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. .Luke23:34

He took care of His Mother

25Near the cross of Jesus stood His mother and her sister, as well as Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw His mother and thedisciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.” 27Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” So from that hour, this disciple took her into his home.… John19:25-26

He showed His humanity

It Is Finished

28   After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!”

29   Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.

He Foresaw the completion of His Work

30            So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John19:28-30

He forgave one of the thieves crucified with Him

42Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” 43And Jesus said to him,“Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Luke23:42-43

He was separated from the Father

. 34At the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” whichmeans, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”35When some of those standing nearby heard this, they said, “Behold, He is calling Elijah.”… Mark15:34-35

He died

46Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last. Luke23:46

But thank God, He did not die in vain. He rose again.

2     Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

3     And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?”

4     But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away — for it was very large.

5     And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

6     But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

Mark16:2-5

Luke 24: He Is Risen

1     Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.

2     But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

3     Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4     And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.

5     Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

6     He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

7     saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ “

8     And they remembered His words.
