Watch Your Words (By Fenny West)

Watch Your Words

5     Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

6     So we may boldly say: ” The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Heb13:5-6

21            Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit Prov18:21

Watch Your Words

Can make or Mar.

Side with the Lord

Hold on to His Word

Be it near or far.

There is appointed time

A season for everything

Delay is no denial

It’s only a trial

To engineer your triumph.

Forsake not your mercies,

Your Promised Land-

The Land flowing with milk and honey;

The Land that is more than money.

Forsake not your allotted plot

Your breakthrough,

Your inheritance.

Be not like Esau who threw

away his birthright for a pot of stew.

He regretted his bad decision and could not turn back the hand of the clock.

Be not like those who though out of Egypt, still had Egypt in them.

“Come out from among them and be separate, sanctified, set apart for the Master’s use.”

Speak no more like a babe.

“When I was a babe I spoke as one. But when I became an adult I put childish things away. “1Cor13:11

As a man thinks so is he. Think the thoughts of God. Speak the words of God. Say what God has said about you. “For He has said… therefore I can boldly say… “

Be not ensnared by your own words, but be liberated by your words. Be edified by your words and let others be edified by your words. Let your words be seasoned with salt, wholesome, empowering, inspiring, comforting, assuring, faith-filled. Prov6:2, Eph4:29

Be not like the ten spies who failed the test and spoke out of turn.

“Let us go back to Egypt. It would have been better for us to remain slaves. The people in the land are stronger than us. We are not able to overcome them. The land eats up its inhabitants. We were as grasshoppers in our eyes and so were we in their eyes. ” Num13:27-28,31-33

They saw through the enemies’ eyes and not through God’s eyes. They magnified the problem and minimised and undermined the promise.

They spoke doubt and unbelief and cause many to wail and go down with them to an early grave.

13            And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.Josh14:12

Be like Joshua and Caleb who saw possibility in spite of the giants. They knew the giants they saw were a test of their faith and they spoke what they believed and not what they felt or saw. And God was pleased with them. They saw the giants as bread to them and so they turned out to be. They said “If the Lord delight in us, He will give us the Land.” And He gave them the land.

Caleb, after 45 years had passed, still held on to the promise and reminded Joshua when it was the time to distribute the land

Watch what you say

Take a leaf from Caleb:

Joshua 14:7

“Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.”

Joshua 14:8

“Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.”

Joshua 14:9

“And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s forever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.”

Joshua 14:10

“And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spoke this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.”

Joshua 14:11

“As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.”

Joshua 14:12

“Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spoke in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.”

Joshua 14:13

“And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an Inheritance.

Joshua 14

“Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.

Jos14:7-13

You will not miss your Hebron, regardless of the passage of time.

Does the vision tarry? Wait for it and at the appointed time it shall speak and not lie. It shall not delay a single day. Say like Job,”I will wait until my change comes.”

27   Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: ” My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God”?

28   Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

29   He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

30   Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,

31   But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.isa40:27-31

15   My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.

11   He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.Ps31:15

21   Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.Prov18:21

35   A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

36   But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

37   For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

think as God thinks. Speak as He speaks. He calls those thinks which be not as though they are. He called Abraham father of many nations before he had one child.

See yourself and call yourself Good Success despite the failure or seeming failure you see in the natural. See through the eyes of God and assure yourself that God does not make failures or sponsor flops. Your time is coming. You will give thanks. You will give praise.

If you have spoken out of turn , you can reverse it from today and start speaking in line with the Word of God.

Start acknowledging the good things God has done and is doing in your life. Give Him thanks and praise for His mercies and faithfulness.

Matt12:35-37

Proverbs 23:7 New King James Version (NKJV)

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.

We have the mind of Christ. We speak the mind of God.

We do not focus on lying vanities, “Yea, had God said?”

5     Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

6     So we may boldly say: ” The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Heb13:5-6

6              But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.Heb8:6

Hold Fast Your Confession

19   Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Prov15:44 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Mark11:2323 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Josh1:88 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Isa5510-1110 ” For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Mum23:1919 ” God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

James3:4-54 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

Jonah 2:8-10 King James Version (KJV)

They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.

10 And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

When Job began to give thanks rather than lament his condition- observe lying vanities, God commanded the fish to spit him out.

As you despite your present predicament, impasse, limitation, challenge…. Begin to see what God has done for you and His faithfulness and mercy, He will command your condition to spit you out into your promised Land. Watch your words.

20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. Prov4:20-24

The ten spies brought an evil report and caused many to wail in the camp. They took many with them to an early grave. This will not be your portion, in Jesus’ Name.

If you have spoken out of turn before you will reverse it from today and say what has said about you – not what you feel or what people or the enemy says about you. You will call those things which be not as though they are, just like God would do. You will take sides with the Lord and see through His eyes and not through the eyes of your adversaries. Your words will be spirit and life. You will not miss your Hebron, in Jesus’ Name.
