Grace or Grass (by Fenny West)

Grace or Grass
It’s your choice.
But choose well
And rejoice.

Grace or grass
It’s your call.
You can’t pass.
Choose wisely.

Grace or grass
You decide

Raise your class

Ditch your pride.

Narrow’s the way

That leads to life

Broad’s the way

That leads to death.

Follow the Way

Follow the Truth

Refuse to stray

Follow the Life.

The grass is for the ass

But be wise as the serpent

Choose life and live

Great joy comes when you repent.

19   I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Deut30:19

The Parable of the Lost Coin

8     “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?

9     And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’

10   Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph2:8-9

17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

The Parable of the Lost Son

11   Then He said: “A certain man had two sons.

12   And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.‘ So he divided to them his livelihood.

13   And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.

14   But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.

15   Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16   And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.

17   “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18   I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,

19   and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ‘

20   “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

21   And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22   “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.

23   And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;

24            for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

31   So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

32   Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

33   And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.

34   Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

Acts16:31-34

A Vital Church Grows

40   And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”

41   Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

42   And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Acts2:40-42

3     Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John3:3

9     that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10   For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
