Jesus Had a Purpose

Jesus  had purpose

And a focus-

A priorityhappy new year

Saving of lost souls

He lived for is purpose

Prepared for His purpose

Sacrificed for His purpose

Faced His purpose

Embraced the purpose

Pursued His purpose

Fulfilled that purpose.

So should you and I.

Full of the word

He had heard,

Eaten as His food

Drank as His drink,

He avoided distractions

Endured opposition

Depended on His Father

To walk on water

In the Spirit’s power

And so could tower

Higher and higher.

So should you and I.

In this New Year, Lord, open my spiritual eyes to see my purpose- its height, breadth, length, depth.

May I embrace this purpose like Jesus embraced His purpose. Help me, Lord .to prepared for my purpose, live for my purpose, sacrifice for my purpose, be prepared to suffer for my purpose and pursue that purpose until it is finished with finesse, In Jesus’ Name. Amen

Luke 15: The Parable of the Lost Sheep

1     Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him.

2     And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.”

3     So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

4     “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?

5     And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6     And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

7          I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
