Take the Songs, Slings and Stones to the Streets

Take the songs, slings

and stones to the streets,

To meet defiant Goliath of Gath

and his cohorts in their face.

Take the song and dance to

the gutters and ghettos,

slums and suburbs,

nooks and crannies

highways and byways.

Go not in your own strength

but in the power of God’s might.

Be not intimidated by their rant and rave,

their roaring like lions, howling like jackals.

Use the pot of oil that Jesus gave.

Be fuelled by the passion of your vision.

Go with holy zeal and unction to function.

Yes, by the foolishness of preaching

The anointed, unadulterated Word of God,

Many shall be saved, healed and delivered,

As hell is plundered and heaven populated.

Lean not on your own understanding.

Just be very adamant, uncompromising.

Keeping your garment clean and keeping trim;

avoiding every weight and sin that so easily besets.

The fields are white and ready for harvest,

but the labourers are few.

Would you answer the call today,

and go in the name of the Lord

and in power of his Spirit?

The Just Live by Faith

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,[a] for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Rom1:16
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

1 Corinthians 2
 1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
 5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1Cor2:1-5

1 Corinthians 1:26-28 (King James Version)
 26For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
 27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
 28And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.[a]Matt9:35
Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry

14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. Luke4:14
18 “ The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
       Because He has anointed Me
      To preach the gospel to the poor;
      He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,[a]
      To proclaim liberty to the captives
      And recovery of sight to the blind,
      To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

Acts 10:38 (New King James Version)
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

The Race of Faith
 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God Heb12:1-4
