Learning a Lesson from Ants

Learning a Lesson from Ants

Small, feeble with no leader

Yet in symphony, at work adamant

Diligent, no creature works harder.

Focused, cooperative everyday

Keeping rank as one man, gathering in summer

In preparation for the rainy day

Hoarding, making provision for winter.

Open my eyes, O Lord, my God

O that I will learn from these creepy creatures;

Applying diligence, excellence to your word

And in all my work, find pleasure.

Heavenly Father I thank you for your  word which is true- challenging, charging and changing. It says he who does not work should not eat and that whatever my hands find to do be done diligently. Whatever you do, do it heartily unto the Lord. You have called us to be co-workers with you. You have called us, created us for good works which you have foreordained for us.

May I find fulfilment in my work and do it to your glory and your praise. It was you who said ‘seest thou a man who is diligent in his work. He shall stand among kings and not and not before mere men.

May I be distinguished in the work I do for good reasons.

May I learn to have an excellent spirit like Daniel and Joseph of old.

May I be a salt of the earth, a City on a hill and a light of the world in my works be it preaching writing, singing , playing musical instruments, caring, counselling, communicating, contributing, creating and  motivating,

May your spirit challenge me to rise to an new level in my productivity and professionalism so that men will see my good works and glorify my Father in heaven

Proverbs 6:6-11 (New King James Version)

The Folly of Indolence

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard!
Consider her ways and be wise,
       7 Which, having no captain,
      Overseer or ruler,
8 Provides her supplies in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep?
       10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to sleep—
11 So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler,
And your need like an armed man.

Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men. Prov22:29

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.2Tim2:15

If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.  1Pet4:11

1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. 2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand. 4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. 5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field. 6 Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. I am providing for a summer camp for children. The overall theme is diligence from a Biblical perspective. Thank you for this compilation. It is a nice assortment of supporting verses from the Old and New Testaments and it certainly saves me time. I expect I will visit this site again.
