When God Opens Your Eyes ( by Fenny West)

When God Opens Your Eyes

When God Opens Your Eyes

It surely will end your demise

And bring you into a realm that is high,

Untapped, unexplored and divine.

When God Opens Your Eyes

You will enter into a door

That will open other doors

As you are lifted from the floor.

When God Opens Your Eyes

You will bask in a summer

Of revelation knowledge-

Knowledge that surpasses knowledge

When God opens your eyes

You will see what others do not see

You will enter into a Land of Creativity

And inventions that are witty.

When God opens your eyes

You will see Jesus like Peter did

When he proclaimed:

 “You are the Christ,

the Son of the living God! (Matt16:16)

You will see Jesus as the Living Word-

God trapped in time, the Father in a body

Divinity in humanity.”

When God opens your eyes

You will see like the two men on the Road to Emmaus,

Who though initially blind had their eyes opened,

When the bread was broken. (Luke24:31)

When God opened your eyes

You may have been a persecutor of the Church

Blinded to your narrow-mindedness

But through His grace and kindness

You will see His brightness and will like Paul, and exclaim:

“Who are You, Lord?” when you are born again.(Acts9:5)

When God opens your eyes

You will be caught up into heavenly realms

And hear deep things,

hear deep calling unto deep

You will see the scriptures as never before

And be transformed inside out

As you enter the reality of:

“ in you, the hope of glory”

2Cor12:2,4,7, Col1:27

When God opens your eyes

You may have been blind to the reservoir,

oases or land opportunity around you

but He will cause you to see like He did Hagar

when she languished beside a well of water.

“Then God opened Hagar’s eyes,

and she saw a well full of water.” Gen:21:19

When God opens your eyes

You will see pictures of your future

Like Abraham,

And as you embrace these pictures

And walk by faith, you will become what you saw.

 Gen15:5

Yes, when God opens your eyes

You will see what He sees concerning you

in regard to your business, relationships, career,

ministry, family and you will rejoice.

You will see through His eyes

And you will be elevated to a higher plane

of praise and worship and thanksgiving.

When God opens your eyes

You will, despite the enemies surrounding you,

See like Prophet Elijah and his servant,

The angelic host on assignment on your behalf

and you will be at peace.2Ki6:17, Ps91:11-12, Ps34:7

When God opens your eyes

You will perceive rightly your divine visitation

And know want to do at the right time and with the right people

like Abraham, and the children of

Issachar Gen.18, 1Chro12:32, Luke7:15-16

When God opens your eyes

You will see your purpose clearly like Joseph

And you will not be undaunted by any pit or prison

You are thrown into because you know:

 the palace will come in the fullness of time;

your premiership will come in the fullness of time.

Gen41:41

When God opens your eyes,

Regardless of prisons or chains,

persecutions or disdains

rods or cords or conspiracies

accusations, famine, distress or nakedness,

peril or sword, you will be able to say like Paul:

24          But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.Acts20:24

31           What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32           He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

33           Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

34           Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

35           Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36           As it is written: ” For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

37           Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

38           For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

39           nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Ro8:31-39

When God opens your eyes

You will pursue your purpose despite opposition, difficulties or ridicule like Nehemiah. You will set your face like a flint and stand against ‘your Sanballat and Tobias and others’, until you finish your assignment. 15       So the wall was finished Neh:6:15

You will not be distracted by their trickery, blackmail or effrontery.

When God opens your eyes

You will see the urgency of the times in which you are and rise up to fulfil vision like Esther, knowing that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this. You will rise up as a soldier of Christ and be counted. You will be relevant wherever you are and wherever you go. You will employ all your time treasure and talent for the extension of the kingdom of God. “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Esther4:14

When God opens your eyes

You will see like Daniel what is holding the promises of God and intercede and break any barriers and birth your miracle, birth a New Dawn, birth a New Day and birth a New Era. Dan9:1-4

I pray 17          that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

18           the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

19           and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

20           which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

21           far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

22           And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,

23           which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

I pray that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,

17           that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18           may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height —

19           to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20           Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

21           to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.Eph3:16-21

By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),Eph1:18

We share the same life
He is the Vine
And I am of the branch- the Church
He is the Head
And I am part of His Body.

I am a son of God
With the divine nature
A manifestation of His Word
With a future that is sure and secure.

In Him I Have:

COMFORT, COUNSEL
HOPE, HEAVEN, HEALTH
ROYALTY, RIGHTEOUSNESS,rights and privileges,resurrection power
INHERITANCE, INTERCESSOR, INSIGHT
SUPPORT, SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH SUPPLY, SAINTHOOD,
TRIUMPH, TRUST, THINGS THAT ARE GOOD, Truth

His Word is the Seed

That makes me succeed

When it is decreed

And acted upon.

1 John 3:

1      Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2      Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

12   But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:John1:12

1Pet1:23

23   Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

17   Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.1John4:17

5      I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.John15:5

2      Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3      According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4      Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2Pet1:2-4

17   Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Cor5:17

6      I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Ps82:6

11   And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12   He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13   These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

I Walk in Wisdom (by Fenny West)

keep your dream alive 1 dream big faith shines in darkness faith uses adversity for advancement faith faces the future with fortitude mind mind5 In Christ- our inheritance mind2 all things are urs1 healing i receive in His time

I Walk in Wisdom

I walk in wisdom of the Kingdom of God which is within me. It illuminates my path that shines ever brighter from glory to glory to the full light of day. Divine direction is my portion in all I do and wherever I go, because God works in me both to will and do according to His good pleasure. I live to please God-not man- in all I do. Therefore, I do all I do as unto Him; to His glory and praise. He empowers me and instructs me each step of the way. His Spirit is my Counselor-showing me things to come and teaching me how to handle difficult and tricky situations. I am never overcome by evil but I overcome evil with good, because I am an ambassador of the Most High God and His imitator.

Through Christ Who resides me, I can bear and forebear in any circumstance. I rise above provocation, temptation and intimidation. I remain resolute and bold, without fear, knowing  I am in Him, an overcomer- more than a conqueror. I put on the whole armour of God to stand against every strategy, every scheme, every cunning tricks of the enemy. I am streets ahead. The Holy Spirit gives me an advance warning and heads-up.

God is my refuge and my strength and my ever-present help. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I abide under the shadow of His wings. Therefore no harm will befall me. No disaster comes near me or my camp or dwelling. No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper. My pathway is one of life-super-abundant life. My life is encapsulated with the life of Christ

In Him I live, move and have my being. Goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life. He prepares a banquet for me in the presence of my enemies and my cup overflows. He daily loads me with benefits to enjoy. The boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places for me, and I have a goodly inheritance- far beyond what I can ask or think or imagine. I am blessed with every spiritual blessing. I am blessed in the city and in the country side. I am blessed in my going out and in my coming in.

I do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners nor sit in the seat of god-mockers. But my delight is in the word of God and I meditate on it day and night. Therefore, I am like a tree planted by streams of water and I bring forth the fruit of the spirit-love, joy, peace, goodness, patience, kindness, self-control, righteousness, in due season. I abide in the Vine and His word abides in me and I produce much fruit-fruit that will remain; fruit that will bring glory to my Maker.

Afflictions that I face are passing; they are temporary, they are fleeting, temporary and they are partners in my progress. They are light, of no weight and are working for me an exceeding weight of eternal glory.

I will therefore take full advantage  of them to maximise the resultant benefit from them. I will not lose heart but see the glory and joy beyond them like Jesus did and was able to bear the cross, despising its shame and was raised from the dead, paving the way for my salvation and  that of others- you too.’

I look beyond the seen to see the unseen realities. I know that the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are not seen are eternal. And I know All things are working together for my good because I am a child of God and called according to purpose, created for good works that God had fore-ordained for me.

I thank God that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and fitted and gifted for my assignment. I shall not envy anyone. I am full fitted for my purpose. I shall fulfill my destiny. Nothing shall stop me. I will not be distracted or sidetracked. No wind or storm will dislodge my focus on Jesus-the Author and finisher of my faith. I walk by faith and not by sight. I fight the good fight of faith with the whole armour of God-not by my might nor by my power, but by the Spirit of the living God.

Peace profound is found in me. Peace like a river is my portion. Jesus is my peace. I am not moved by my feelings or things I see. I am moved by the powerful, infallible and enduring word of God. The grass may wither, the flowers may fade. But God’s word abides for ever and it will give me Good Success.

Therefore I will not grow weary in well-doing, knowing that my reward is on the horizon. As long as the Lord remains, winter and summer, night and day, seed time and harvest time shall not cease. My harvest time is here.

God said, “Those who sow in tears shall reap with joy.” Those who out weeping, bearing precious seeds to sow will doubtless return with joy- unspeakable and full of glory; bringing a great harvest with them. God will make His grace abound towards me so that I will have all-

sufficiency in all things as to abound in every good work. Yes, as I give, it is given back to me in good measure, pressed-down, shaken together and running over. God will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings such that there will not be room enough to contain it. The devourer shall be rebuked for my sake. Whatever I lay my hands to do prospers. My business prospers. My body prospers. My family prospers. I have good ideas that are God’s ideas. I have an inventive genius and genes. Creativity is my pedigree. Innovation is my preoccupation.

I see the good about anyone and anything  or situation.

I have a divine perspective always and nothing fazes me. I am strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, in Jesus’ name.

ARE YOU STRESSED OUT ABOUT MONEY? (1)

ARE YOU STRESSED OUT ABOUT MONEY? (1)

‘…It is [God] who gives you the ability to produce wealth…’ Deuteronomy 8:18

The story of Elijah being fed by the ravens teaches us that God can take care of us in a bad economy (1 Kings 17:1-7). The story of Joseph teaches us that when we follow God’s plan, we will have all that we need to get us through hard times (Genesis 41:37-57). One of the dangers of living in a materialistic society is that you feel ‘entitled’ to things, even when you can’t afford them. To overcome financial anxiety you must practise fiscal discipline. God doesn’t bless recklessness. You can’t go into debt, then pray that God will get you out of it. Sometimes He does. But if you don’t learn from your mistakes you’ll just keep repeating them. A popular radio show in Atlanta, USA is hosted by a man called Clark Howard. He begins every programme by saying, ‘Spend less, save more, and don’t get ripped off.’ He talks about banks that charge extortionate rates for credit cards, and tells people to live within their means. ‘But I’m used to a certain lifestyle,’ you say. Get unused to it! If you want peace of mind, learn the art of contentment. Does contentment mean you can’t have ambition? No, it means delaying gratification and enjoying where you are, on your way to where you’re going. It means learning to live by these words: ‘I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength’ (Philippians 4:12-13 NLT).

We All Have our Weaknesses and Strengths

We All Have our Weaknesses and Strengths

Undoubtedly, we all have our weaknesses

But we can be a force for God and for good

If we would surrender and let God’s will be done.

In our weaknesses His strength can be made perfect.

On the other hand, we all have our strengths

But we need to surrender even these to God

Because only our strength in Him will count

‘Curse is he who trusts in the arm of the flesh.’

‘Some trust in princes, others trust in houses

But we would trust in the name of the Lord.’

‘For the name of the Lord is a strong tower

The righteous run into it and are saved.’

We would not give the enemy a foothold

So we would yield spirit, soul and body

To the leading and control of the Holy Spirit.

Come Holy Spirit, and captivate our hearts.

Without You we can do nothing good

Without You we will be prey to the foe

Without You we go aimless, empty and useless

Without You we will be ineffective and powerless.

O Lord, ‘may the words of my mouth

And the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable You,’ my Maker and my God

My Rock, my Shield, Shelter and Salvation.

Help me, Lord to think of whatsoever is good

Whatsoever is pure, honest, just, of good report

Whatsoever is admirable and praiseworthy

Knowing that as a man thinks so is he.

I yield myself into your hands, O Lord.

Help me to be a catalyst for good

Help me to be a force for unity and peace

May Your light and love flow through me.

In the mighty Name of Jesus, amen

8     Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.

Phil4:8

7          For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.Prov.23:7

1     I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

2     And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Rom12:1-2

My Son, Listen to Your Father (by Fenny West)

Proverbs 4: Security in Wisdom

1     Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to

know understanding;

2     For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.

3     When I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the sight of

my mother,

4     He also taught me, and said to me: ” Let your heart retain my words;

Keep my commands, and live.

5     Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from

the words of my mouth.

6     Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will

keep you.

7     Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your

getting, get understanding.

8     Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when

you embrace her.

9     She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory

she will deliver to you.”

10        Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life

will be many.

In this passage, we can see the father exhorting his son on the need to get wisdom, understanding and good judgement; to value her above silver or gold, see her as the principal thing, the cardinal thing, precious thing.

He reiterates that he gives good instruction and teaching on the fundamentals of life that will hold the child in good stead as he grows up to be a man.  He wants to pass on the baton for a productive, enviable, durable adult life that he can be proud of while he is alive and when he is long gone.

He is speaking from the point of view of a possessor and not just a confessor. He has been around long enough to distinguish between folly and wisdom; knows the difference between knowledge and discretion and understanding and godly counsel amidst the myriads of ungodly alternatives in the world around him.

What more? He had been his father’s son (‘…I was my father’s son…’v3) He had been under instruction and guidance himself, humbling himself to learn from his father.

Young people often think they know it all. However he was wise to defer to his father, take his instructions and is now able to advise his son. Unless you have learned to be under authority, you cannot give authority effectively. It is wisdom to learn to submit yourself to those God has set over you. It does not make you inferior. It is a safety net.  God is pleased and will honour you in due time. He gives grace to the humble and resists the proud.(1Pet5:5-6)

What are the benefits of wisdom that we can glean from the passage?

Protection

The marginal title: says it all: Security in wisdom. Wisdom protects you from error of judgement. You learn from other peoples mistakes rather than repeat them. The centurion recognised that Jesus was a man with a higher authority but he also alluded that there were people under him. He was himself under others before he had his authority and he submitted to Jesus’ authority. (Matt8)

Promotion

Wisdom will make you stand out like David when invited by Saul to stay in the palace. David was wise in the way he conducted himself (1Sam18:5). Wisdom will give you an excellent spirit like Daniel and his friends who honoured God even while in exile and God made them ten times better than their peers, when the time of testing came . (Dan1:20,-5:12) Wisdom will make you distinguished like Joseph in Potiphar’s house such that his master left everything in his charge.(Gen.39:1-6) If you are wise, you will be head-hunted. People will come looking for you. Your employers will promote you and look for ways to keep you- increasing your salary, pecks and your responsibilities etc.

Provision

Although a father is obliged to provide for his children, experience has shown that those children who listen to their parents instructions, guidance and counsel, get the most from them. Others get by with the minimum. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.’ But if you go about as if you’re your own boss, you will be in want.  You cannot confidently rely on the promise and provision of your father. (Ps23:1) ‘A promise taken out of context is a pretext.’

Prolongation of life (longevity)

When a son dishonours his parents or father, he is digging his grave, opening the door for all kinds of evil. He is making himself vulnerable to the elements (so to speak) and so doing endangering his life.  He is spurning the security in place, the safety net his father has for his good and this can shorten his life.  On the other hand, when a son listens to his father’s instruction and obeys him, it brings delight to his father who will do anything to protect the son.  God is also pleased with this son and would protect him and thereby elongate his life. He will not die before his time.

Productivity

Wisdom brings with it the ability to produce wealth, increase and lay the foundation for a fruitful adult life. It teaches you the value of working not only hard but smart  It teaches you the virtue of delayed gratification Wisdom imparts diligence and excellence, perseverance, character which are important pillar of productivity and prosperity.

Professor

The wise son who listens to and adheres to his father’s instructions will grow, develop, mature to be an able teacher himself, equipped with the knowledge and wisdom, discretion, counsel and understanding from his father. He is now a professor.

Possessor

There are many professors in life who not possessors. Such professors teach what they have learnt in books and internet and other means but they have not lived it themselves. Anybody can teach if they sit down and learn from books. It is different when you have submitted yourself under the authority of your father, learnt from him, not only in words but through experience and matured in your wisdom whilst also realising that we grow in wisdom and no one has arrived. We learn daily as we humble ourselves before God who is all-wise.

Let us pray:

Father, we thank You for what You have taught us today.

Help us to value wisdom from You as the principal thing in our daily walk. Open our eyes, O Lord, to recognise the authority figure You have set over us and to acknowledge and humble ourselves to learn from them to grow, mature and develop.

Teach us Lord to be sensitive to Your Spirit even when we read Your word  listen to you, cherish your words of wisdom.

O that we would be teachable and not consider ourselves as arrived. Grant us hearing hearts and understanding mind as we read your word daily.

Grant, O Lord, that Your wisdom will protect us, promote us, open door of provision for us, make us productive, able professors and possessors of your kingdom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

My Son, Listen to Your –Father

He is wiser and knows better

His silver hair counts for something

He has been through many things.

Don’t behave as if you know all

Such attitude will lead to a fall.

Son, value wisdom above all

And you will, doubtless, stand tall.

Son, Wisdom will bring protection,

Increase, productivity and provision.

She will bring excellence and promotion

Make you an able professor with unction.
