1 A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Prov1:5,7
C.S. Lewis said, ”The next best thing to being wise oneself is to live in the circle of those who are.”
The Call of Wisdom
20 Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares.
21 She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words:
22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.Prov1:20-22
Psalms 14: Folly of the Godless, and God’s Final Triumph -To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
1 The fool has said in his heart, ” There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
Ps14:1
Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
Jam3:13-16
