The Man Born Blind Healed
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. 8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?” 9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.” 10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” 11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”John 9:6-11
Lazarus Raised from the Dead
39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” 43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.” John11:39-44
Christ Is Preached to an Ethiopian 26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this: ” He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.” 34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” 37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” 38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

The Wilderness Way
17 Then it came to pass , when Pharaoh had let the people go , that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines , although that was near; for God said , “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war , and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt. Ex13:17-18

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

‘…Let us keep in step with the Spirit.’ GALATIANS 5:25
If the Christian life is about having a personal relationship with God, then God must still speak to us today. But a relationship can’t be built on one-way speeches. First, it requires commitment. Then it requires communication between two people in which each speaks and listens to the other. ‘You…are controlled…by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you…’ (Romans 8:9 NIV). That means having Spirit-controlled responses, and making Spirit-led decisions. When you follow God life no longer consists only of that which can be seen, felt or figured out. It includes walking by faith, trusting Him, learning to know His voice and the leadings of His Spirit. Some of us are reluctant to do that because we’ve seen people who claim to be doing it and their approach scares us. So when we sense the Spirit’s leading we doubt it, analyse it, conclude it isn’t logical and don’t pay attention to it. Some of us want to obey the Spirit, but we’re not sure we know that He’s really speaking to us. We wonder, ‘Is this God’s voice or my own desires?’ We’ve all experienced this; it’s a normal part of the Christian life. This is why Paul writes, ‘Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.’ (Galatians 5:25 NIV) Spiritual guidance is learned-one step at a time. Even the most mature believer will stumble and get it wrong at times. No problem: ‘The Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand’ (Psalms 37:23-24 NIV).
‘…I believe God will do exactly what he told me…‘ Acts 27:25
Robert Schuller was on a cruise ship in the Coral Sea when the captain announced they were about to navigate a very narrow and dangerous crevice. They needed at least thirty feet of water to get through and avoid running aground. Just then a small motorboat approached and on deck was a captain from Australia. As he boarded the big ship, the crew saluted and stepped aside to let him take the helm. This man specialised in maneuvering big ships through small spaces, and because of his expertise they made it through without a problem. There’s an important lesson here. Before you get caught in life’s storms, make sure Jesus is at the helm, and that you know who your traveling companions are. In the midst of a gale that threatened to sink their ship, Paul stood up and announced, ‘Take heart. I believe God will do exactly what he told me.’ Paul had confidence because he knew who the real Captain was that day. He never doubted for a moment that God would honour His promise to save him, and everyone on board. When you go through storms that shake your faith you need people who know what the Word of God says, people who believe that God will ‘do exactly’ what He said no matter how bad the circumstances look. Such friends are few and far between, and they’re precious. If you have one or two of them in your life today you’re blessed, so thank God for them.
Lead me in Thy truth, and teach me: for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day.
When the believer has begun with trembling feet to walk in the way of the Lord, he asks to be still led onward like a little child upheld by its parent’s helping hand, and he craves to be further instructed in the alphabet of truth. Experimental teaching is the burden of this prayer. David knew much, but he felt his ignorance, and desired to be still in the Lord’s school: four times over in two verses he applies for a scholarship in the college of grace. It were well for many professors if instead of following their own devices, and cutting out new paths of thought for themselves, they would enquire for the good old ways of God’s own truth, and beseech the Holy Ghost to give them sanctified understandings and teachable spirits. “For thou art the God of my salvation.” The Three-One Jehovah is the Author and Perfecter of salvation to His people. Reader, is He the God of your salvation? Do you find in the Father’s election, in the Son’s atonement, and in the Spirit’s quickening, all the grounds of your eternal hopes? If so, you may use this as an argument for obtaining further blessings; if the Lord has ordained to save you, surely He will not refuse to instruct you in His ways. It is a happy thing when we can address the Lord with the confidence which David here manifests, it gives us great power in prayer, and comfort in trial. “On Thee do I wait all the day.” Patience is the fair handmaid and daughter of faith; we cheerfully wait when we are certain that we shall not wait in vain. It is our duty and our privilege to wait upon the Lord in service, in worship, in expectancy, in trust all the days of our life. Our faith will be tried faith, and if it be of the true kind, it will bear continued trial without yielding. We shall not grow weary of waiting upon God if we remember how long and how graciously He once waited for us
Don’t be like the horse or mule that needs bits and bridles to control. Yield to Me. Be malleable and flexible in My hands and I will lead you in the right path. You will hear a word behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it. Do not swerve to the left or the right. Make level paths for your feet. My Child pay attention to my word. Listen closely to what I say. (Ps32:8-9)
The path of the righteous shines ever brighter unto a perfect day. ( Prov4:18)I am the Good Shepherd. I know your destination. I know how you should get there. I see the end from the beginning. Follow my leading even if you do not see my hand your can trust my heart. Faith in Me is not a leap in the dark. It is trusting in the way Maker who is all-wise, makes impossible possible, gives strange, ridiculous instructions which bring about the miraculous.
In the face of the raging sea I instructed Moses to use his rod and you know what happened? Ex14:13-16,21-22)
In the midst of lack of water, I told him to strike the rock and he obey and water came out.( EX17:6) When they were thirsty again but found only bitter water I instructed him again to cut a tree branch and throw into the river and you know what happened, spring water sprang up and their thirst was quenched.
When the children of Israel disobeyed God and were bitten by the snakes, God instructed Moses to make a bronze serpent and put it on a pole and whoever looked at it was made well. What an instruction! Moses had to obey it whether or not he understood it.
When Jesus arrived at the house of Mary and Martha after delaying till Lazarus died, he instructed them to roll away the stone and when they did their part He did His part and raised back their dead dream. Similarly you have to do what you have been told to do and you will experience miracles. When wine ran out at the marriage feast His mother told the servants to do what they are told. And strangely Jesus told them to fill the pots with water. They obeyed regardless of how ridiculous it sounded. And what happened? The water was turned into wine. And not just another wine, but the best wine came when the party was nearly over. It is not over until Jesus says so. He can give a brand New Beginning even in your old age.
Peter was invited to come and wall on water with Jesus. He obeyed He dared attempt a great thing for God and he did. He was also told to launch into the deep after they had told all night and caught nothing. But when they obeyed their catch was so much that their boat was about to sink. They had to beg others to come and help them harvest the catch.
General Naaman came for healing at Elisha’s residence. He though because he was a general, Elisha will run out and roll out a red carpet. He was highly disappointed when Elisha simply sent a servant to go and tell Naaman to go and deep in the river in Samaria seven times. He was furious that Elisha did not come and do some acrobatics bit sent him not even to a river in his hometown but to what he considered a lesser degenerate place. His advisers counselled him to humble himself and do what he was told. He did and his body was as fresh as that of a baby.
A blind man came for healing and Jesus spat on the floor, made a paste with it and rubbed it on his eye and told him to go and wash in the pool of Siloam. He did and came back seeing. There were ten leper who came for healing and Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priest and take an offering. Granting that they were still blind, the instruction was absurd, but they obey and as they went they received their healing. (John9:7,11)
On another occasion Jesus met a man that had been crippled for 38 years and told him to take up his bed and walk, he obeyed and he walked.
Peter and John met that crippled man at the Gate Beautiful and told him, what you want- silver and gold, we do not have but what we have and what you need, we have, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Rise up and walk. The man looked at Peter an John cross-eyed. Peter wasted no time but bent down and raised him up and as he touched him =, his ankle boned received revival power surging through his bones alike electricity and he leap up and down praising God for his healing.
Abraham was told to leave his comfort zone- his clan, country, people to a place God would show him. God did not give him the specific place he was going. But we were told Abraham departed immediately. That is a walk of faith and we are told four times in the scriptures, ’The just shall live by faith.’ I don’t know of any other scripture that was repeated four times.(Gen12:1-4,Rom1:17, Hab.2:4, Heb10:38, Gal3:11)We walk by faith and not by sight. 2Cor5:7. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. God instructs us through His word. When we come to his word we need to be attentive and take it as God speaking to us as we read it or meditate on it. Often a portion of the scripture will jump at us or be magnified or underlined or reinforced. That is God speaking. God uses any means He chooses but we know that whatever means He uses must line up with His word, because He is not an Author of confusion. He will not tell you to do anything contrary to His word. ( Num23:19, Heb6:18, Isa53:10-11,Jer1:12, Ps119:89,105,130)
“…These many years I have been serving you…yet you never gave me a young goat that I might make merry with my friends. But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.” And [his father] said to him, “Son…all that I have is yours”‘ (Luke 15:29-31 NKJV).
Because the elder brother’s ignorance of whom he was, he did not enjoy what was available to him. He lived in the lap of luxury, yet he was poor. How pathetic! Many of us are living below what Christ has purchased for us on Calvary’s cross because of our lack of knowledge.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.Hosea4:6
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Redemption in Christ
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,Eph1:3-8
3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.
19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.Luke10:19
17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
9 But as it is written: ” Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,Nor have entered into the heart of manThe things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
We are Children of God.
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, Rom8:16
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:
We are heir of God and joint heirs with Christ
17 and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Rom8:17
We have an advocate in Christ
1 John 2:
1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
We are forgiven
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.1John1:9
We have the Holy Spirit as our standby, Guide, Intercessor, Friend, Teacher, Strengthener, comforter, advocate, purifier, refiner and helper
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. John16:7
Answers to Prayer
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
Confidence and Compassion in Prayer
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.1John5:14-15
25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.Heb7:25
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.Rom8:26-27
We are co-workers with God
9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.1Cor3:9
We are more than conquerors
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
The Greater one indwells us
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.1John4:4
We are overcomers. We are victors
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.1John5:4
There are marvellous things in us in Christ
6 that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Phil1:6
Christ dwells in our hearts and His love is boundless
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height —
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.Eph1:17-19
We have been Brought Near in Him
12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
We have peace In Christ
Christ Our Peace
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
Christ in us-Hope of Glory
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.Col1:27
We were crucified in Him and been raised with Him
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal2:20
Christ is our righteousness, sanctification, redemption
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption1Cor 1:30
If God be for us, no one can be against us
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Rom8:31
We are seated with Him in heavenly places
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, EPhe2:5-6
We are New Creatures
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.2Cor517
We are His workmanship, His masterpiece, created for good works
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.Eph2:10
We are His ambassadors
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Believers Are Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.Matt5:13-16
