Receive Rhema ( by Fenny West)

“Go Beyond the Logos to the Rhema;

from what He had said to what is being said,

because the rhema, acted upon,

has a lifting power.

It will lift you from the premise of a promise to a place of realisation and actualisation and manifestation.”

21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ” This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. Isa 30:21

8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Ps 32:8

The Man Born Blind Healed

6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.
7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?”
9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.”
10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”John 9:6-11

Lazarus Raised from the Dead

39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”
40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”
43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”
44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.” John11:39-44

Christ Is Preached to an Ethiopian
26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert.
27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,
28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”
30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this: ” He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”
34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.
36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”
37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.
39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

Open Doors from Quarantine (2) ( by Fenny West)

Open Doors from Quarantine (2) Paul Acts 16

The Philippian Jailer Saved

25   But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

26   Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

27   And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself.

28   But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

29   Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.

30   And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31   So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

32   Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

33   And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.

34      Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

Paul knew his purpose and embraced it. He was committed to preaching the Gospel to the Gentiles at all cost, willing to spend and be spent for it. And he constantly sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit (as we should all do) and had tremendous success.
However in his attempts to go to Phrygia, to preach the Gospel, the Holy Spirit said, “No!” Acts16:8
He then tried going to Bithynia but the Holy Spirit again refused. Now, while he was at Traos, he had a vision in which he saw someone saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us. V9
This gave him the confidence that he had heard from God and he proceeded there to the major city, Philippi with Silas.

The Macedonian Call

6      Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.

7      After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.

8      So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

9      And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

10   Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.

There he preached the Gospel and Lydia and her household believed and were baptised. V14-15
This was the first open door.

14   Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.

15   And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

Later they saw a woman possessed with the spirit of divination being used to make money for masters.
She said many good things about Paul and Silas but with the wrong spirit. Paul discerned and  confronted her and cast the devil out of her. V17-18
This rattled the cages of her handlers and they were enraged and falsely accused Paul and Silas, bringing them before magistrates.
They were condemned and brutalised, badly beaten, broken and bleeding and then thrown into a dungeon of a prison with their  feet in strait jackets.v17-24

However at midnight, Paul encouraged Silas for Church Service in jail. They prayed and sang loud such that the other prisoners heard them.
God enjoyed the aroma of their praise so much that He tapped His feet in heaven. This resulted in an earthquake which rocked the foundation of the prison, so much that all the doors and windows were flung open. And their chains fell off.v25-26

The prison warden heard the tumult, commotion and cacophony and leapt out of his bed hurriedly and came out with a lantern. As he saw the doors opened, his heart sank, thinking all the prisoners had escaped. He wanted to kill himself. But Paul and Silas quickly stopped him, saying, “Don’t do yourself any harm. We are all here.”
The warden was flabbergasted, wowed and so overwhelmed with awe that he said, “What must I do to be saved?”
Paul told him, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your household shall be saved.”
He led him and his household to salvation and there was a great joy and feasting to the glory of God.
God led him, allowed what he suffered but rewarded him with a great open door for the salvation the prison warden of household.
Open door came from quarantine and there was a great addition to the Kingdom of God.
Paul and Silas did not complain or moan for their quarantine but prayed and praised  God and God gave them a great exploit and made their joy full. They could not have asked for more. God exceeded their expectations.
Therefore, in your quarantine arising from COVID19, it may look like a midnight hour. Do not complain but find a song of praise in the night. God gives songs in the night. Sing, dance, praise and pray a prayer of worship, adoration and thanksgiving to God. And God will give you  unprecedented breakthroughs. He will cause others around you to marvel and be convicted to surrender to Him and you will be an instrument of reconciliation. Seize the moment when it comes. Be ambitious. Go for broke. Maximise the moment.
Your open doors could be great innovative ideas for business, teaching online, setting up a charity that will help others or reaching out to people in unique ways or writing best-seller or acquiring new skills that make you head-hunted. Go for it. Make all things, including this quarantine work for you. Because you love God and you are the called according to purpose.
Determine that at the end of the lock down, you will come out better than you went in. Make up your mind that weeping may endure for the night but joy is coming in the morning. Thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph. Praise God who enables His children who go through the valley of Baca (the valley of weeping) and make it a place of spring, going from strength to strength and from glory to glory. They may be hard pressed but they are never crushed; perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but assured that they are not abandoned. They are trees of righteousness, His treasured possession and destined to be forests. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall bring forth fruit not only in old age but in all seasons, locked down or unlocked down. They will not know when heat comes. When others are saying, “There is depression, hypertension, post-lock down depressive, traumatic syndrome.”, you will be saying, “There is refreshments, revelation, harvest, lifting up, elevation, promotion, innovation and creativity.” Glory to God!
Open doors from Quarantine is mine! in Jesus’ Name.
Open doors from Quarantine is yours! ,in Jesus’ Name.

Take it by faith and run with it and it shall be yours.

For maturation

It’s not an easy road.

It’s a narrow road.

It’s not a broad road.

But it’s the right road.

On this road comes temptation.

But it’s for your edification

And eventual elevation.

On this road comes the lion and the bear.

But you must stay put and forbear.

You must know that God is always there,

And that He always cares.

On this road come trials

But they are for your ultimate triumph.

Know that the tests are for triggering testimonies.

Know that the barriers are there to birth blessings.

Therefore use your faith to mount up to surmount.

See through the eyes of God.

Regardless of the hurdles,

All things are possible.

You can leap over walls

The Wilderness Way

17 Then it came to pass , when Pharaoh had let the people go , that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines , although that was near; for God said , “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war , and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt. Ex13:17-18

God still speaks. The question is: Are you listening? Jesus said ‘My sheep hear my voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow. God guides and He guides well. His guidance does not preclude storms of life. But when you have heard from Him you need to encourage yourself with the prophetic word He has given you to sustain in the times of storms of life that will try to negate His word. Pray His word back to Him. Use it a a weapon against the enemy of your soul and come out victorious.

God honours His word
He magnified it above His name
He stands by his word to perform it
He direct through His word
He speaks through His word
Through the Logos- the written word,
the Rhema-what God is saying comes.
God honours those who honour His word
You cannot go far if you disregard His word

Psalmist
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.

31 I cling to Your testimonies; O LORD, do not put me to shame! Ps119:
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
111 Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart.
Ps19:7-11
See How He aligns his will to the word of God

7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.
8 I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly! — beth —
9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
4 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. —
47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love.
127 Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold!
Listen to his prayers
5 Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes! 6 Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments.

27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts; So shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.
25 My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.
26 I have declared my ways, and You answered me; Teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts; So shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.
28 My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.
31 I cling to Your testimonies; O LORD, do not put me to shame!
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
Ps119:5
89 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Ps119:89
104 Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. — nun —
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. Ps119:
Job
12 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food. Job23:12

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. Ps1:1-3

God’s attitude:

2 I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
Ps138:2
10 ” For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isa55:10-11
The integrity of God
17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath,
18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
Heb6:17-18
19 ” God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Num23:19
12 Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”Jer1:12
8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” Isa40:8
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away Matt24:35

Jesus and the Word

 Jesus is the living Word
John 1: The Eternal Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
John1:1-3
God create through His word and brings about changes in our lives through His word that we accept and hold dear.
Hebrews 1: God’s Supreme Revelation
1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Heb1:1-3
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
He gave His word a special place Gen1:3

63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John6:63

Jesus gave prime place to the Word

4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ “

Fruitfulness comes from the word and it fuels our prayer; gives us assurance of answered prayers
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.John15:7-8
The Holy Spirit and the Word
He teaches us the word; makes it come alive; unpacks it for us.
4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1Cor2:4-5
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
John16:13

God’s counsel about the Word
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Proverb4:20-23
Psalms 1: Book One: Psalms 1 — 41 The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly
1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.Ps1:1-3

God’s command about the word

6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.Deut.6:6-7

8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Josh1:8

The disciples and the word
2 Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.
Acts6:2
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts2:41-42
11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Let Me Hear Thy Lips

Song of Solomon 8:13

Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to Thy voice: cause me to hear it.

My sweet Lord Jesus remembers well the garden of Gethsemane, and although He has left that garden, He now dwells in the garden of His church: there He unbosoms Himself to those who keep His blessed company. That voice of love with which He speaks to His beloved is more musical than the harps of heaven. There is a depth of melodious love within it which leaves all human music far behind. Ten of thousands on earth, and millions above, are indulged with its harmonious accents. Some whom I well know, and whom I greatly envy, are at this moment hearkening to the beloved voice. O that I were a partaker of their joys! It is true some of these are poor, others bedridden, and some near the gates of death, but O my Lord, I would cheerfully starve with them, pine with them, or die with them, if I might but hear Thy voice. Once I did hear it often, but I have grieved Thy Spirit. Return unto me in compassion, and once again say unto me, “I am thy salvation.” No other voice can content me; I know Thy voice, and cannot be deceived by another, let me hear it, I pray thee. I know not what Thou wilt say, neither do I make any condition, O my Beloved, do but let me hear Thee speak, and if it be a rebuke I will bless Thee for it. Perhaps to cleanse my dull ear may need an operation very grievous to the flesh, but let it cost what it may I turn not from the one consuming desire, cause me to hear Thy voice. Bore my ear afresh; pierce my ear with Thy harshest notes, only do not permit me to continue deaf to Thy calls. To-night, Lord, grant Thine unworthy one his desire, for I am Thine, and Thou hast bought me with Thy blood. Thou hast opened mine eye to see Thee, and the sight has saved me. Lord, open Thou mine ear. I have read Thy heart, now let me hear Thy lips.

John 11: The Death of Lazarus

Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

Genesis 41: Pharaoh’s Dreams
Joseph’s Rise to Power
37 So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”
39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.
40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.”
41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.
43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt.
44 Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

Jesus Raises the Son of the Widow of Nain
11 Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.
12 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.
13 When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
14 Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”
15 So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.
16 Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us”; and, “God has visited His people.”
17 And this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region. Luke7:11-17
Dorcas Restored to Life
36 At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did.
37 But it happened in those days that she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.
38 And since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

LEARN TO BE LEAD BY GOD’S SPIRIT

LEARN TO BE LEAD BY GOD’S SPIRIT

‘…Let us keep in step with the Spirit.’ GALATIANS 5:25

If the Christian life is about having a personal relationship with God, then God must still speak to us today. But a relationship can’t be built on one-way speeches. First, it requires commitment. Then it requires communication between two people in which each speaks and listens to the other. ‘You…are controlled…by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you…’ (Romans 8:9 NIV). That means having Spirit-controlled responses, and making Spirit-led decisions. When you follow God life no longer consists only of that which can be seen, felt or figured out. It includes walking by faith, trusting Him, learning to know His voice and the leadings of His Spirit. Some of us are reluctant to do that because we’ve seen people who claim to be doing it and their approach scares us. So when we sense the Spirit’s leading we doubt it, analyse it, conclude it isn’t logical and don’t pay attention to it. Some of us want to obey the Spirit, but we’re not sure we know that He’s really speaking to us. We wonder, ‘Is this God’s voice or my own desires?’ We’ve all experienced this; it’s a normal part of the Christian life. This is why Paul writes, ‘Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.’ (Galatians 5:25 NIV) Spiritual guidance is learned-one step at a time. Even the most mature believer will stumble and get it wrong at times. No problem: ‘The Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand’ (Psalms 37:23-24 NIV).
