He Preordained Your Path (by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome)
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES.
MONDAY, 18TH APRIL 2022.
HE PREORDAINED YOUR PATHS
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [TAKING PATHS WHICH HE PREPARED AHEAD OF TIME], THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live] (Ephesians 2:10 AMPC).
As a Christian, God prepared your path, the path in life that you should follow. Predestination is at work in you. Take a moment to think about what we read in our opening verse; it’s so sublime: we were recreated in Christ Jesus, for good works which God planned beforehand for us, taking paths which He prearranged.
This simply means that your life is set on a course. You’re not an accident. There’re those who are on a path that’s different from the path that God prearranged for them. They live in the wrong house, in the wrong city, they went to the wrong school, they have the wrong friends. Some are in the wrong job or business; they have the wrong associates and are in the wrong associations in life. They’re not aware that God has a special path prepared for them; so, they’re toiling and struggling through life.
Everyone has a definite path that he’s supposed to follow, and if you don’t know, you’d think life is just according to impulses. For example, perhaps after your graduation from the university, you opted to do a second degree; the question is, why?
Maybe it’s because your parents said so; maybe you just liked the idea of acquiring a second degree, or maybe you saw your friends going for it and you decided to get on the bandwagon. But did you ever ask God whether or not that was consistent with His plan and purpose for your life?
Most people never bother to find out God’s plan for their lives let alone see to it that they fulfil it. But that’s the greatest thing in your life—discovering God’s purpose and fulfilling it. Be wise and know that you need to talk to God about what you should do, the direction you should go, because everything God wants you to achieve in life has been pre-ordained.
If you want the best from God, if you want to live in His perfect will, you’ve got to walk in the path He prearranged for you, and it’s a path of righteousness, great glory, greatness and unending victories. Glory to God!
CONFESSION
Predestination is at work in me. My life has a purpose with God, for He leads me by His Spirit in the paths that He prearranged for me. Everything I’ll ever require to fulfil all that God has called me to do is available in superabundance. I’m led in the paths of success, victory and unending prosperity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Wednesday Word: Pursuing Purpose With Positivity
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Act26:16-18
24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Act20:24
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Phil3:13-14
6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2Tim4:6-8
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Phil4:8
Live a Purpose-driven Life ( by Fenny West)
Live a Purpose-driven Life
Purpose is your reason for being; your raison d’etre. It is what draws you to wake up in the night to write, or do something even if you are not paid for it. Purpose drives you, fulfils you and defines you.
Everyone has a purpose and a unique purpose at that. Everything has a purpose. Whether or not you know it, this does not preclude the fact that it has a purpose. Whether or not you know it, you have a purpose.
Abraham had a purpose. Despite the odds that were against him- being child-less, old to the point of having no sperm or low sperm-count and his wife also old and past her menopause, yet it did not matter to God. He had called them to be Father of many nations and mother of nations. Through him all the families of the earth would be blessed – pointer to Jesus. (Gen.12:1-3)
Eventually, the vision which tarried, delayed (as it were), came to pass in the fullness of time despite many challenges. And today, those who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are blessed- the seed of Abraham. ( Gen.15:1-7, Gen21:1-7)
Genesis 21: Isaac Is Born
1 And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken.
7 She also said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.”
Joseph had a purpose. He was to be instrumental for the preservation of Israel who will be enslaved in a foreign land for over 400 years.
“Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years. Gen15:13
God revealed that purpose in pictures. Joseph understood that he would be in a prominent position and all his siblings would bow to him. However God did not share any details with him. In the fullness of time, after many difficulties and oppositions, it came to pass and he fulfilled his purpose, mission and vision.
Purpose Revealed
“Please hear this dream which I have dreamed:
7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” Gen.37:6-7
Fulfilment
41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.
43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt.
44 Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”
45 And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnath-Paaneah. And he gave him as a wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On. So Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt. Gen41:41-45
Paul had a purpose, despite starting out as an adversary to the Church – arresting and persecuting Christians, overseeing their execution.
58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.
Act7:58
Acts 8: Saul Persecutes the Church
1 Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem;
However the more he opposed the Church, the more he was being magnetised to God.
Acts 9: The Damascus Road: Saul Converted
1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.
4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”
6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.
17 I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,
18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’Act26:16-18
And this enemy of the Church, was gloriously, dramatically and unquestionably converted into a saint and trophy in the hand of God. Saul of Tarsus became St Paul who used the same zeal with which he opposed Christianity to forget the past and reaching forth for that which to press on for the mark of prize of his high-calling in Christ Jesus (Phil3:13-14). He went on to build churches, raise disciples and write 13 best-sellers of all time, giving us incredible revelation of Whose we are, what we are in Christ, and what we have in Christ. Paul would not be deterred by opposition. He was stoned many times, imprisoned many times, often shipwrecked, beaten with rods, lashed 39 strokes 5 times, misrepresented, mistreated, maligned, but he kept pressing on. He once said, “None of these things move me… ” Why? He was focused on completing his purpose( Acts20:24) and he did with finesse and was able to declare:
Paul’s Valedictory
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Our Saviour, Jesus had a purpose. He knew that purpose, was passionate about that purpose, pursued that purpose and regardless of opposition, remained undaunted, unrelenting, uncompromising, unwavering until He said,”Teleiose” ( It finished!) ( John1:29, Luke2:49,John18:28-38, 1John3:8, John19:30)
Moses had a purpose – delivering the Children of Israel from the House of Bondage
11 Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. Ex2:11
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. Heb11 :24-27
. Moses knew about his purpose but missed the timing, killed someone and ran for his life. He went to a foreign land, changed his “passport”, got married, got a job as a Shepherd. He had started speaking “sheepinese”, had almost forgotten his purpose. But one day, God found him in the back side of a desert and reminded him.
“Moses, Moses!”
“I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey…
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
10 Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”( Ex3:4,7-10)
Moses resisted God, gave every excuse in the world why he was not qualified.
“O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” (Ex4:10)
But God, who does not call the qualified but qualifies the called, convinced Moses that all he needed was His presence. Moses recapitulated and took up the gauntlet and went back to Egypt to confront Pharaoh with what God said, “Let My people go.”
Moses’ purpose was resisted, not only by Pharaoh but even by his own people. God displayed signs and wonders in Egypt culminating in the death of the first born in each household before Pharaoh recapitulated to let God’s people go. Moses fulfilled his vision. He took them out Bondage.
30 So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
The Exodus
31 Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the LORD as you have said.Ex12:30-31
Joshua had a purpose – to take them into the Promised Land. “He takes us out bondage, our encumbrance and hindrance to take us into our inheritance and dance. Joshua fulfilled His purpose like Jesus did.
Esther had a purpose – to avert what would have been the first holocaust, in Shushan the citadel, Persia, during the reign of King Ahasuerus. Mordecai was like the Holy Spirit-the guide, who counselled her during the contest for a new queen, which Esther won. He also revealed her purpose in the palace for such a time as that. “…who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”(Esther4:14)
Esther played ball and the Jews were preserved. She fulfilled her purpose. ( Esther7:3-10)
Nehemiah was burdened about Jerusalem, even though he was in a foreign land as an exile in a lucrative employment. He mourned, fasted and prayed when he learned about the broken down walls of Jerusalem.(Neh1:3-4)
God used him to answer his prayer as He gave him favour with the King, who became sympathetic to the cause, permitting him, not only to go and rebuild the wall, but gave him supplies and security.
. (Neh.2:3-9)
Nehemiah went back and commenced his purpose and despite much opposition, remained resolute until he completed rebuilding the wall in 52 days, to the glory of God.
The Wall Completed
15 So the wall was finished…, in fifty-two days.Neh.6:15
And You, yes, YOU, reader; You under the sound of my voice, you have a purpose, a unique purpose. Unless you find that purpose, life will not have a true meaning for you. But if you have found that purpose, congratulations! Your life will find fulfilment if you are following that purpose, fulfilling that purpose and sold out to that purpose.
Friend, find your purpose. Pursue your purpose. Live a purpose driven life. Live before you die.
If you do not have a personal relationship with God; if you are not born again, come and acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Without the Way, there is no going. Without the Truth, there is no knowing or knowledge and without the Life, there is no living. Invite Jesus Christ into your life and His Spirit will guide you into your purpose – your reason for being. Spend and be spent for that purpose and you will not only be fulfilled but have eternal incomparable rewards.
Live a Purpose -driven Life!
Let us pray
Father, I thank You for being born for such a time as this. I was born for a purpose, born for a reason. This reason shall not only be found but pursued and fulfilled to your glory. Your Spirit will guide me each step of the way to live Your dream, in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Lord, that my purpose is unique and fitting for me. I shall learn from others but not be a photo-copy of others. I am well-fitted for my purpose. Nothing will stop me from fulfilling my purpose, in Jesus’ Name.
Open Doors from Quarantine ( 1) ( by Fenny West)
Open Doors from Quarantine ( 1)
Gen41:41-45
An open door awaits the child of God, who trusts in Him, depends on Him. He did it for Joseph. He can do it for you too. Just maintain your excellence, reliability integrity and purity. No matter the opposition, it will turn out to be an opportunity for your promotion and even an unprecedented open door.
Joseph had a big dream but as he innocently told his family, he ran into trouble. Whilst his father hid the matter in his heart, his brothers not only envied him but hated him and his guts (Gen 37:6-7). However he had the audacity to dream again despite their initial disgust and dismay and outrage (Gen 37 :9). The interpretations of the dreams were in no doubt: they would be subservient to him (Gen 37:8). The preferential treatment he got from his dad compounded issues. He specially tailored a coat of many colours for him as daddy’s pet. He knew it. His dad knew it. They knew it. ( Gen37:3) And so they wanted to put his light out at the earliest opportunity. They wanted that dream dead and buried.
The opportunity came when Jacob sent Joseph on errand, to go see if they were alright in the forest. When they saw him from afar they said, “Behold, the dreamer comes. Let’s kill him and see what will come of the dream.” V19
Soon they proceeded with their clandestine and wicked plan. Joseph was stripped of his coat and dumped in a dish awaiting execution. Then one of his brothers pleaded for him.” “Let’s sell him and make some money instead of killing him. V 22
Some traders emerged and the transaction was completed and Joseph was sold away as a slave. He ended up in Egypt, bought by an army officer – Potiphar. V25-28
God was with Joseph and caused him to excel and have favour with his master. He served his master so well that he left everything in his charge. He knew that Joseph was God – fearing and he was being blessed on account of Joseph’s presence. The success of Joseph was astounding. Gen 39:1-3
Meanwhile, Potiphar’s wife lusted after Joseph because of his good looks and build. She constantly pestered him to make love to her but Joseph refused, considering it a great wickedness, more so in view of his standing with his master. But she would not stop.
One day when he entered her room to do his chores, she grabbed him and tried to force him to make love to her against his will. Joseph refused her overtures to compromise his purity and integrity and ran away, leaving his coat with her. Gen 39:7-13
She screamed and wailed to attract the attention of the neighbours accusing Joseph of attempted rape. Joseph denied it but it was her word against his. His master believed her, albeit reluctantly, and Joseph was sent to prison. What a sad day it was! Talk of bad things happening to good people.
However, even in prison, Joseph displayed his excellent and exceptional character. This brought favour and an opening for him to be made an overseer of other prisoners. (Gen.39:20-23)
Do you have a dream that has been oppose or barricaded by circumstances? Have you found yourself in quarantine despite your good deeds, integrity and purity? Have you lost your job as a result of the lock down from CORONA19 ? Or are you imprisoned at home but working from home and wondering when all this lock down would end? If so maintain your character and faith in God, wherever you have found yourself. God will give you an open door if your expect it. It could be a door to witness to friends online or from home or a door of promotion as you display excellence and loyalty to your employers even at such desperate times.
In jail Joseph cared for other inmates and that character opened the door for him to be made an overseer. He also noticed the sad countenance of other inmates and inquired what was wrong. They opened up to him-sharing their dreams which he interpreted. They were subsequently released just as he had predicted. He pleaded with one of them not to forget him when he was restored to his former role as a butler to the King. However he forgot him for two years.
Then the King dreams a dream that perplexed him and no one could interpret it. This was when the butler remembered Joseph and told the King about Joseph and how he interpreted his dream and that of his inmate and it came true.
Joseph was summoned to the palace where the king relayed his dream to him. Joseph interpreted the dream: that there would be seven years of plenty in the land and seven years of famine. However the famine would be so severe that the seven years of plenty would be forgotten. He advised the King to look for someone to administer the years of plenty so that they do not starve to death. Gen 41:29-36
The Pharaoh was so impressed that he not only pardoned Joseph, but promoted him from prisoner to Prime Minister.
“See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
So Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt
What an opening for Joseph!
The Pharaoh gave him a chariot, his ring and a robe and Joseph was feted, honoured all through the land. Within 24 hours his life was completely transformed. God can do the same in your life, despite your quarantine or lock down. Expect an opening, an opportunity, an open door, a supernatural favour or promotion. Remember, “All things work together for good to those who love God and who are the called according to purpose.” You have to stand on this scripture and ask the Holy Spirit that good thing that He has ordained for you during this lock down. If you seek Him about it earnestly, you will find it.
If you are a writer, expect God to open your eyes to write a best-seller even from what is happening as a result of this unprecedented lock down. If you are a songwriter, it can be a time to write a song that will go viral on all social media platforms. Expect great things from a great God.
Joseph had a dream from God and it appeared everything was working against him, but God allowed those things to bring Joseph to the place of the fulfilment of his dream, assignment and purpose.
Similarly your opposition will bring opportunity, promotion, open doors, acclaim, stupendous success that will resound for many years. And when that opportunity comes, use it to the glory of God. Give your very best. Do not forget where you came from.
Joseph despite not going to a university and studying a degree in finance and economics, excelled in his administration of the food and produce in the time of prosperity and bumper harvest. He sought the face of God who opened the door for him to give him wisdom to manage the plenty in an impressive way so that in the time of famine Egypt became a place where others came for food. Besides, his brothers also wandered into Egypt and were flabbergasted to find that their brother whom they sold was now in charge as the Prime Minister. Joseph, rather than take revenge against them, took care of them. Whilst they trembled, he comforted them, saying it was not their fault. They meant it for evil but God meant it for good to preserve the lives of many in future.
5 But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.
6 For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.
7 And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
8 So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Gen 45:5-8
So expect the Supernatural hand of God in your quarantine. God is still the same. Expect your opening, your opportunity, your ‘light –bulb- moment’. It could be a new job opportunity. It could be an opportunity to witness and lead someone or people to Christ. It could be the opening of an online mega-business that makes you a household name or brand. It could be a new skill or sets of skills you develop whilst on lock down that sets you up for life. Make the most this opportunity. The path of the righteous is like a shining light that shines brighter and brighter to the full light of day. (Prov. 4:18)
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools.
7 They go from strength to strength; Ps84:5-7
Take this word and mix it with faith and run with it and make this lock down or quarantine work big for you.
