 The word Works

When you stand on it

When you pray it

And pray with it

When you pop it as pill

When you rub it in like balm.

The word heals

Because it is spirit and life

Because it is God-breathed

Because it is powerful

And dynamic, razor-sharp

Living, seasoned and it’s God’s mind.

The word works

When you refuse to relent

When you hold on to it

Like a bulldog that has found a bone.

The word is medicine for health;

The word is wisdom in business;

The word is blue print for prosperity;

The word is for soundness of mind;

The word works for peace profound;

The word works for divine direction;

The word is for creativity

The word is for healthy relationships

The word is for finding purpose

Facing and fulfilling purpose.

The word works always and everywhere;

on the mountain in the valley.

12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Heb4:12

63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.John6:63

“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

Matt4:4

7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John15:7

32.”So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified Act20:32

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Col3:16

12     I have not departed from the commandment of His lips;

      I have treasured the words of His mouth

              More than my necessary food. Job23:12

20     My son, give attention to my words;

      Incline your ear to my sayings.

21     Do not let them depart from your eyes;

      Keep them in the midst of your heart;

22     For they are life to those who find them,

      And health to all their flesh.

 Prov4:20-22

6     “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!

3 Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!

Revelation 5:6-10 (New King James Version NKJV)

6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”

Psalm 91 (NKJV)
CH: 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”

Psalm 73:21-26,28 (NKJV)
21 Thus my heart was grieved,
And I was vexed in my mind.
22 I was so foolish and ignorant;
I was like a beast before You.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
24 You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
26 My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,
That I may declare all Your works.

Ps30 I will extol you

http://www.youtube.com/user/emui
Psalm 30 (New King James NKJV)
1 I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up,
And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
2 O LORD my God, I cried out to You,
And You healed me.
3 O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave;
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4 Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
5 For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
6 Now in my prosperity I said,
“I shall never be moved.”
7 LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong;
You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
8 I cried out to You, O LORD;
And to the LORD I made supplication:
9 “What profit is there in my blood,
When I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise You?
Will it declare Your truth?
10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me;
LORD, be my helper!”
3:33 11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Ps27:1-4 the Lord is my light
Psalm 27:1-4 (NKJV)
A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.
4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple

9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;

Memorise Scripture ( by Don & Dawn)

good successA God's guidance6 God's guidance7

Hey it’s Don here again.

I think Sam Storms, in his book on Colossians, describes well what it looks like for the word of Christ to dwell in us.

He talks about the Scriptures calling out to us.

“Don’t just read me,” they seem to say. “Feast on me! Meditate! Ruminate! Saturate your spirit!

Let my words wash over your soul like the refreshing waters of a cool mountain stream.

Hear them again and again. May they be permanently embedded in your brain, shaping how you think and live and relate to one another.

Don t be satisfied with a surface scan. Dig deeply. Explore me, word upon word, line upon line.”

Truth be told, for you to grow in faith, you need to regularly, read, study, memorize, and meditate God’s word.

There’s no other way really.

That’s why my wife Dawn and I are continuously inspiring hundreds of thousand of Christians to memorize Bible verses regularly.

There’s power in memorizing scriptures. Believe me.

Reading the Bible with the Tongue

good successA

A man in Kansas City was severely injured in an explosion.

Evangelist Robert L. Sumner tells about him in his book The Wonders of the Word of God.

The victim’s face was badly disfigured, and he lost his eyesight as well as both hands.

He was just a new Christian, and one of his greatest disappointments was that he could no longer read the Bible.

Then he heard about a lady in England who read Braille with her lips. Hoping to do the same, he sent for some books of the Bible in Braille.

Much to his dismay, however, he discovered that the nerve endings in his lips had been destroyed by the explosion.

One day, as he brought one of the Braille pages to his lips, his tongue happened to touch a few of the raised characters and he could feel them.

Like a flash he thought, I can read the Bible using my tongue. At the time Robert Sumner wrote his book, the man had “read” through the entire Bible four times.

How many of you can say you’ve read through the Bible four times–with two good eyes? This man had a craving–and even losing his eyesight wouldn’t prevent him from reading God’s Word.

My brethren, don’t let laziness or procrastination prevent you from reading and memorizing God’s Word.

Be a “no-excuse” Christian and start memorizing scriptures starting today.

God's guidance6 God's guidance7 good successAYou are not too old to memorise scriptures. Scripture memorisation is one of the greatest investment you will make in your life as Christian. Others have done it, you too can. I will be sharing different methods of memorising the scriptures in this page. So if you are interested in it, bookmark this page and come back for updates.

“It’s all about self-limiting beliefs. The most common
limiting belief I hear is…”I’m too old”.
Initially we also thought that as you go older, your memory
power decreases.
But that completely CHANGED our mind when we met a 74 year old man that could recite considerable part of New Testament.
That’s why we’re really confident that whatever your age is,
you have an enormous power to memorize scriptures.”

Salvation

New Birth ( salvation, redemption)
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;
17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Gen2:17
8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
Gen3:8-10
“Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”Gen3:1

4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. Gen3:4
God’s plan of salvation
15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”Gen3:15
State of man Isa53:6 gone astray
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Rom3:23 All have sinned
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Rom6:23 wages of sin and gift of God
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What God did
Jn3:16 loved and gave
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jn3:16
1Pet1:18-19 Purchased us
Sent a Lamb to take our place
“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!John1:29
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.2Cor5:21
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption -1Cor1:30

1Pet1:18-19
18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 1Pet1:18-19

1Cor1:30 made us right
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption
Rom5:8 show his love through Christ
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
What man has to do
Come to Jesus
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
18 ” Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, ” Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. 1sa1:18
Come Now!2Cor6:2
2 For He says: ” In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2Cor6:2
Do Not Boast About Tomorrow Jam2:13-14
13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Jn14:6 Accept the Way
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Rom10:9-10 Accept Jesus as Lord
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
John1:12 Receive Him
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
Acts2:37-Repent
8 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark1:15
Be born again
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Jn3:3,5,8
Acts16:31
31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

What you cannot do
Eph2:8-9 You can’t save yourself
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
You can’t work for or buy salvation Isa55:1-2
Isaiah 55: An Invitation to Abundant Life
1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.
2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Rom1:17 it’s by faith (Gal3, Hab2:4 Heb)
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Salvation cost god a great deal
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. Isa53:4,5,10

After you are saved
You were crucified with Him Gal2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Rom8:1no more condemnation, set free
Romans 8: Free from Indwelling Sin
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Rom12:1-2 Be not conformed to the world
Romans 12: Living Sacrifices to God
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Phil3:20 Heavenly citizenship
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Pet1:18-19 we have a living hope
A Heavenly Inheritance
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
Seated with Christ EPh2:4-7
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life
27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.Rev21:27
5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Rev3:5

Memorising Scripture

Memorising Scripture

John Piper

The value of memorising scripture:

  1. Makes mediation possible when you can’t read the bible and therefore a pathway to deeper understanding. Jos.1:8, Ps1:1-3

  2. Strengthen your faith; faith comes by hearing- the word  of God you have stored in your heart. Rom 10:17

  3. Shapes the way you view the world by conforming your mind to God’s viewpoint on everything. Rom12:2

  4. Makes God’s word readily accessible for you to overcome temptation because His promises and warnings are the way your guard your life from enemy infiltration and attack. 1Cor10:13, Jam4:7

“I know of no other single practice in the Christian life more rewarding, practically speaking, than memorizing Scripture…No other single exercise pays greater spiritual dividends! Your prayer life will be strengthened. Your witnessing will be sharper and much more effective. Your attitudes and outlook will begin to change. Your mind will become alert and observant. Your confidence and assurance will be enhanced. Your faith will be solidified.”
