Jesus Abolished Death ( by Fenny West)

Jesus abolished death
Undid the works of darkness
Nullified the written code against us
Enacted the law of the Spirit of life in Him

Jesus died but rose again from the dead
Unlocked the prison door of sin and death
Nailed the written code to the cross
Enshrined a new law of love and life

10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 2Tim:1:10

14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.  Col 2:14-15

Without the Cross… (by Fenny West)

Without the Cross..

A crown is a curse.
The cross is a bridge to glory
The cross is Conception awaiting the New Birth,

New Creation, New Life, Being Born Again.
Without the crucifixion, there will be no resurrection.
Without the sacrifice, there will be no remission, no justification,

no sanctification, no reconciliation, no peace with God or peace of God; no fellowship with God.
The Cross brought healing and health.
The cross is an indispensable process for our prosperity and victory.

Yes, it was gruesome, but it brought wholeness.
That was why “it pleased the Father to bruise Him. “
The Cross is a ladder, a step, to the throne.
The Cross is a prelude to reigning.
We suffer with Him as to reign with Him.
Little wonder the Master said, “If anyone wants to follow Me,

let him take up his cross and follow Me.

And whoever puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the Kingdom.
When I see the blood, I will pass over.
Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.

They overcame Him by the blood of the Lamb and

by the Word of their testimony, that they loved not their lives unto death.
Behold, the Lamb that takes away the sin of the world.

Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

He dramatised His crucifixion and resurrection
21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Take Up the Cross and Follow Him
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matt16:2125

Isaiah saw it over 700 years ago before it happened

Isa52:14 Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;

And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
9 And they made His grave with the wicked — But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.

It was the Father’s will and Pleasure

10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.

John-the Baptist acknowledged Him as the LAMB…

“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John1:29

David not only echoed His very words on the Cross but gave us a graphic description of the crucifixion scene and what He suffered 100s of years before He came and died.

1 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? 6 But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people.
7 All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 “He trusted in the LORD, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

12 Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.
13 They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death.
16 For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;
17 I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.
18 They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.
17 I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.
18 They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.
19 But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
20 Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog.
21 Save Me from the lion’s mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me.
Ps22:1

Even from the beginning the Father foreshadowed the cross

15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

The innocent animal that was killed to clothe Adam and Eve pointed to the Savior Who would be our substitute for a sin offering and salvation

21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. Gen3:15,21

Through His blood He purified us: made us acceptable

22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Heb9:22

The deliverance, protection and salvation of the Israelites in Egypt all pointed to Jesus that was to come

“…And when I see the blood, I will pass over you;…” Ex12:13

The scapegoat on whom the sin of the people was yearly confessed and sent away into the wilderness pointed to Jesus

8 Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for the LORD and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9 And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the LORD’s lot fell, and offer it as a sin offering.
10 But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make atonement upon it, and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness. Lev16:8-10

Crucifixion and Resurrection ( Prophetic) (by Fenny West)

A prophetic look at the Crucifixion and Resurrection

What Wonderful Words of Prophecies!

The Father said He would send a Saviour after man fell

15            And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” Gn3:15

He was foreshadowed in a prophecy to Abraham

3     I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Gen.12:3

Isaiah saw it about 800 years before He came

14            Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.Isa7:14

6     For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7              Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.Isa9:6-8

David gave us graphic descriptions of the crucifixion about 1000 of years before He came and died on the cross

Psalms 22: The Suffering, Praise, and Posterity of the Messiah To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Deer of the Dawn.” A Psalm of David.

1     My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?

16   For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;

17   I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.

18   They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.

20   Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog

21            Save Me from the lion’s mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me.

He came to save us from our Sins

21   And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Matt1:21

29   The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

He Knew Why He Came

Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” John18:37

18   ” The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

19   To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

He confirmed all the prophecies in His ministry and in His crucifixion and resurrection

Resurrection

7     Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

8     Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle.

9     Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

10                                Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

Ps24:7-10

10   For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

11   You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

“Why do you seek the living among the dead?Ps16:10-11

6     He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,Luke24:6

Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

He set his face like a flint to face the music of the cross despite its horror.

He Himself said:

“All right,” Jesus replied. “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”  Luke2:19

39Jesus replied, “A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For just as Jonah wasthree days and three nightsas  in the belly of the great fish,so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.  Matt12:39-40

On the cross, He prayed for those crucifying Him

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are
doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. .Luke23:34

He took care of His Mother

25Near the cross of Jesus stood His mother and her sister, as well as Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw His mother and thedisciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.” 27Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” So from that hour, this disciple took her into his home.… John19:25-26

He showed His humanity

It Is Finished

28   After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!”

29   Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.

He Foresaw the completion of His Work

30            So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John19:28-30

He forgave one of the thieves crucified with Him

42Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” 43And Jesus said to him,“Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Luke23:42-43

He was separated from the Father

. 34At the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” whichmeans, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”35When some of those standing nearby heard this, they said, “Behold, He is calling Elijah.”… Mark15:34-35

He died

46Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last. Luke23:46

But thank God, He did not die in vain. He rose again.

2     Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

3     And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?”

4     But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away — for it was very large.

5     And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

6     But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

Mark16:2-5

Luke 24: He Is Risen

1     Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.

2     But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

3     Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4     And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.

5     Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

6     He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

7     saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ “

8     And they remembered His words.

HE Did This For You ( by Fenny West)

He Did this for You

Do you Know?

He was rejected, that we might be accepted

He took our Curse, that we might be blessed

He was wounded that we might be healed

He was put to shame that we might have a name.

He was made poor that we might be rich.

He was made sin that we might be free from sin.

The Just was punished to make the unjust just.

The Righteous was vilified that we might become righteous.

He was crucified that we might be justified.

He was condemned that we might not be condemned.

He was separated from the Father that we might be reconciled.

He died the death we deserved that we might live an abundant life.

He took our darkness that we might see His light.

He carried our burden, our load that we might be made light.

He became our sacrifice, that we might be satisfied

He was emptied to make us full and give us His fullness.

For a moment He lost Fellowship with the Father that we might be brought into fellowship.

He left His seat in glory, that we might be brought into the family of the God-kind.

The only begotten Son of God came that we might all be made sons of God.John1`:12,

My Hope of Glory ( Fenny West)

My Hope of Glory

Jesus was made to be sin

Though He had no sin.

He took away all my sin.

He took away all your sin.

Jesus was condemned

When I should be condemned;

When you should be condemned.

He made us accepted

In the beloved.

Through His deed

He met our great need

He made me complete

And made you complete.

Through this deed

He gave me a righteous robe

Out went the filthy robe

And when God looks at me,

He sees not what I used to be;

He sees Jesus Christ in me.

My soul, rejoice today

For Jesus made the way

For me to be set free

For the blind to see

For the prisoner of sin to be set free.

My soul, rejoice today

You’re set free from the fowler’s snare.

My face can wear a smile

Gone is all that is vile

Complete in Jesus

Accepted in Jesus

Beloved in Jesus

Christ in me

My hope of glory.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21

He Paved the Way ( by Fenny West)

He Paved the Way

He was led away

To pave the way

For you and I

To bring us nigh.

He became the scapegoat,

Taking all the sin-load.

He was made sin for us;

To justify all of us.

In all vicissitudes

He became our substitute

Through all calamities

He gave us victories.

So who can separate us

From His love for us?

If God is for us

Who can be against us?

Shall tribulation

Or persecution? No!

Shall famine or nakedness? No!

Shall hard knocks or distress? No!

In all these things we’re overcomers

In all these things we’re more than conquerors.

“They took Jesus, and led him away.”
John 19:16

He Rose Up!

He Rose Up!

She was on the brink of death. Famine was ravaging the land of Zarephath. The cold hands of death had taken her husband and now a widow with an only son, they were next in line to die. Her house was empty. All she had was some flour and oil. And gathering sticks to make her last supper with her son and face the music, the death knell, prophet  Elijah strides in. The Lord had seen her desperate situation, her predicament and despondency. She was in dire straits. Only He could save her. But He had a method in mind- a seed that would trigger the meeting of her need. That method was even double-edged. He put His prophet to the test of reliance and obedience.

He who enjoyed the miraculous provision of the water in the brook where he hid from Jezebel suddenly found that it had dried up. And what more? the ravens that brought him his daily bread ceased in their divine charity mission. God now instructs him:

9 “Arise , go to Zarephath , which belongs to Sidon , and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 1Ki17:9

Notice, God did not say, “I am sending you to a millionaire…” The prophet was tested sore “Go to a widow?”…He was also specific about the location.  Elijah had the option to obey  or die from starvation and thirst. The brook had dried up. The ravens had finished their business. He was wise to obey God and go the widow as commanded. May be she is a rich widow who had been bequeathed millions by her late husband. No! On arrival he was greeted by the sorry sight of a widow facing death. Perhaps he was tempted to backtrack. God sent him to a poor widow? His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. His ways are higher than our ways. It is foolishness in the eyes of the world. But He uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26        For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.1Cor1:25-29

This is the God who when the  children of Israel sinned and were dying of snake bites told Moses make a brazen serpent and raise it up and whoever look at it shall live. And when he obeyed those who look lived and did not die of the plague.  It was  He who told Moses to lift up his rod over the Red Sea to part it. It looked ridiculous at the time. But Moses obeyed and the sea was parted for the children of Israel to walk on dry ground. It was this same God who told Moses to strike the rock and that water will come out to quench their thirst. He did and water came out. Later when they had a similar trial, God told him, ‘This time, speak to the rock.’ Moses, in anger smote the rock and that landed him in hot water. He missed entering the Promised Land.

Our minds can play tricks on us at such times. And when we begin to ponder deeply the devil can butt in, “Yea, had God said, go to a widow? Do you really know your God? Is He not compassionate? How can He send you to such a poor widow to feed you? You have got it wrong. “

The prophet refused to budge. He refused to look at the outward appearance. He knew he heard from God who had sustained him miraculously at the brook with water and the cake from the birds of the air. He knows best. He brings water out of a rock. He does not delight in the legs of a man or the strength of a horse. His supplies our needs-not according to the richness of the channel He uses, but according to His riches in glory. Channels change but He-the Source-remains undiminished, unequalled, unparalleled. He had given His word. And if you will leave the “how” to Him, He would prove Himself to be Jehovah Jireh! He did as the prophet trusted Him and instructed the widow to defy her circumstance and first make him a cake. He then gave her a prophetic word of abundant supply which he knew God will honour. And He did. As she obeyed God, her flour and oil did not run dry. She was fed very well and so was the prophet. Glory to God.

After both of them passed the test with flying colours, then came another test.  Right before the presence of the prophet, her only son, who had experienced the divine intervention of miraculous supply fell ill and died. The widow was devastated and so was the prophet.

He realised it was the trial of his and her faith. She was desperate. It was as if her testimony was a white-wash, a mockery, a taunt and a mirage. She went to the prophet and he called on God.

21 And He stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the Lord and said , “O Lord my God , I pray , let this child’s soul come back to him.” 22 Then the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him , and He revived. 1Kings17:21-22

He rose up!

She had been prostrated, laid low in the jaws of famine God raised her and her son up but the enemy came again to kill her son. But as she and the prophet  persevered, God gave a mammoth victory.

That is the victory that awaits you. You will rise and shine as you obey God and sow that seed He has put in your heart. He will open the windows of heaven and pour you out blessings, so much that there will not be room enough to contain it. And if the enemy comes like a flood on a counter attack, like he came to the widow, be adamant, be undaunted, be not moved, be strong and courageous. Be not afraid, neither be you dismayed. The Spirit of the Lord will raise a standard against the enemy. Those who are with you are more than those against you. If God be for you who can be against you. The bigger the battle, the bigger the blessing. The bigger the test the bigger the testimony and triumph. That widow now, not only had a testimony of supper natural supply but also resurrection of her son from the dead.

When the enemy starts messing God’s starts His superabundant  blessing.

As you are obedient, God will change your playing field. He will open doors that cannot be shut. He will give you hidden riches in secret places  and treasures of darkness. He will begin to do exceeding abundantly, far beyond what you can ask or think; far beyond your wildest dreams. ( Isa45:1-3, Eph3:20)

He rose up! You will rise up too-in your finances, in your family, in your career, in your calling, in your marriage, in your ministry, in your mortgage,  in your house, in your health, in your business, in all you lay your hands to do in Jesus’ name. ( 1Ki17:17-24)

Rise up!

This is the Lambing Season when the sheep farmer after encouraging them to mate, expects them to make him smile, deliver the goods and make his eyes sparkle as the till rings with music of money. Why? Because of the Lambs that are born-spring up in the Spring season.
Is it coincidental that even at this time we think of not only spring but the Springing up- the Crucifixion and the Resurrection of the Lamb of God that was slain to take away the sin of this world?
At this time as daffodils spring up we think of the most poignant event in the Christian calendar -Easter.
Easter is not about Easter eggs, but about the crucifixion and the resurrection.
Jesus told Mary: “Your brother will rise again…He that believeth in me, even though he dies, yet shall he live… I am the resurrection and the life.”
So my friend I prophesy to you in this season if you believe in the Son of God, your dream shall live and not die. Your dream shall spring up to the glory of God.
Jesus said, “Behold I am He that was dead, but I’m alive and alive for evermore…”
Therefore keep your dream alive!
It is written “Grave, where is your victory. Death, where is your sting. For He had swallowed up death in victory. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory. Thanks be to God who leads us into triumph. If God be for us, who can be against us?
Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors.
Christ in us, the hope of glory.
He rose up, so rise up from every, prostration, frustration and depression, retrogression, stagnation, demotivation. He rose up!

He rose up!

He rose up!

Jesus Christ the Son of God

He rose up, He rose up

The cross could not hold Him

The grave could not stop

He rose up, He rose up

Jesus Christ the Son of God

Principalities and powers could not hold Him

He rose up, He rose up

Jesus Christ the Son of God

He rose up, He rose up

Principalities and powers could not hold Him

He rose up, He rose up

If you believe in the Son of God

You’ll rise up, you’ll rise up

The winds cannot stop you

and storms cannot hold you.

You’ll rise up, you’ll rise up

Song I am the resurrection and the life:

I am the resurrection and the Life

he who believes in me though he were dead,

yea he shall live. Why? Because I died and I rose again.x2

So rise from your valley to the mountain of God

Rise up from the valley of Bacca, and make it a spring of God.

I say Go from glory to glory,  go from strength to strength and go from faith to faith.

Jesus went to the tomb of Lazarus and and told those who were weeping: roll away the stone!

They did and He commanded, Lazarus, Come forth! And Lazarus came forth.

4     Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

     I will fear no evil;

     For You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Rise up from our valley!

I remember on that day when Jesus was crucified, demon spirits were rejoicing: ‘We got Him, We got Him.’

But little did they realise they had played into the hands of the Father. They had crucified an innocent Man. And when the righteous demands of a just God had been satisfied, on the third day God had to raise Jesus. And like Jesus, said to Lazarus: ‘Lazarus rise up, The Father, said ‘Jesus rise up! The angel rolled away the stone. And the by the power of the Holy Spirit Jesus came back to the life.

Angel Ps 24: 7           Lift up your heads, O you gates!

And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!

And the King of glory shall come in.

Angel

8     Who is this King of glory?

Angel

     The LORD strong and mighty,

     The LORD mighty in battle.

9     Lift up your heads, O you gates!

     Lift up, you everlasting doors!

And the King of glory shall come in.

10   Who is this King of glory?

     The LORD of hosts,

He is the King of glory. Selah
