Anger Will Cost You ( by Fenny West )

Anger Will Cost You

Anger will cost you.
It will imprison you
And throw the key away
It will make you its prey
And make you its slave
It will also rob you
of the peace God gave.

Anger will make you fly
Of the candle,
Change your colour and candour
red or green.
Anger will make you stumble
Blind you and steal your miracle
And put you in a great debacle.

Anger is next door to danger
And it puts “Thee” in front of it.
It blurs your vision
And aborts your mission
Even mortgaging your future.

Anger will make you speak out of turn
And will increasingly make you burn
Until you burn yourself and choke yourself.
Anger is an enemy
Come to steal your victory.
It is a vice not to have in your tool box.

Anger can even cut short your days
Make so mad that you go astray.
With anger, you can hardly pray
And it will surely mess up your day.

“So what do I do?”, you ask.

Forgive and live
Love forgives.
God forgave you
You too can forgive.
Let go to let God
Do what Joseph did.
He forgave those who hated him and his dream.

He provided for them. He cared for them.

He comforted them.

When they plsy lower, you rise higher.
Pray for them, like Jesus did, “Father, forgive them. For they know not what they do.
Pray for them like Stephen,” Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.”

That is the way to go.
That is the way to win
That is the way to overcome, overtake

and brake free to see glory and joy unspeakable and full of glory.

6      Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27   Neither give place to the devil.

29   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30   And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31   Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32   And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

 Eph4:26-27,29-32

10           For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:1Pet3:10

Proverbs 15:

1      A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

9      Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

Eccle7:9

60           And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.Acts7:60

34 [a]Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

Luke 23:34

Joseph Forgives His Brothers

15 Realizing that their father was dead, Joseph’s brothers said, “What if Joseph still bears a grudge against us and pays us back in full for all the wrong that we did to him?” 16 So they approached[a] Joseph, saying, “Your father gave this instruction before he died, 17 ‘Say to Joseph: I beg you, forgive the crime of your brothers and the wrong they did in harming you.’ Now therefore please forgive the crime of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him. 18 Then his brothers also wept,[b] fell down before him, and said, “We are here as your slaves.” 19 But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid! Am I in the place of God? 20 Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today. 21 So have no fear; I myself will provide for you and your little ones.” In this way he reassured them, speaking kindly to them.

Lord, Help Us

When marriage goes sour

and children caught in the slur

in between, in the crossfire

Lord, help us find a middle ground

That is acceptable and sound.

When sweet hearts squabble

And refuse to fondle or cuddle

But hurl stones at each other

Lord, help us find a middle ground

That is acceptable and sound.

When love turns into hate

And lovers no longer soul mates

When the marital bed become nails

Lord, help us find a middle ground

That is acceptable and sound.

When the aroma of love

Turns into a stench that drives

When darlings turn into hyenas

Lord, help us find a middle ground

That is acceptable and sound.

When the love nest turns a beehive

and the palace becomes a prison

and children become ping pongs

Lord, help us find a middle ground

That is acceptable and sound.

4     Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

5     does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;

6     does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

7     bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8     Love never fails.1Cor13:4-6

2     with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,

3     endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 26     “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

27   nor give place to the devil. 29         Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

30   And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

31   Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

32   And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

The Blame Game: An Old Dog (by Fenny West)

The Blame Game: an old dog

The blame Game

Is an old dog

Who makes us lame

And is against God.

The blame game

sows evil seeds

conjures and then frames

and poison feeds.

The blame game

can be a front

with different names

come out to haunt

So sheath your dagger

Before it wounds

You and others,

Release peaceful sounds.

“Lord, make me a channel of reconciliation, not separation.”

5     Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

6     And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

7     For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.

8     But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.James3:6-8

22   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23   gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.Gal5:22-23

Eph4:29-32

8     Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.Phil4:8

3     Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Ps141:3

Let us pray

Father,

Help me to control my lips and to think your thoughts, mind my mind and not allow it to be a seat evil imagination that will divide, corrode and alienate.

I submit myself to you completely- sprit soul and body.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you.

O that my thoughts will be whatsoever is pure, honest, truthful, just of good report and praise –worthy.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
