He Always Does New Things ( by Fenny West)

19           Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. Isa 43:19

Joseph, From Prisoner Prime Minister

He did it for Joseph. Despite his dream, turning into a seeming nightmare when he ended up a foreign jail, He gave him pleasant surprise. He became a Prime Minister in Egypt, the first of its kind. And he fulfilled his purpose in life, accomplished his assignment to Your glory.

Gen 39-50

You always do new things.

Assumed Father to Father of Many Nations

Abraham and Sarah were past child-bearing age. It was as if their names were a mockery. But He had a sense of humour and not only silenced those who mocked them but caused the vision and promise of a son and laughter at the appointed time. He turned their mourning into dancing and gave them a new song to sing in their old age. What a pleasant surprise! Gen 21:1-7

It was He who parted the Red Sea for His people to walk on dry ground. You made a road-an express road in the sea. And it was a new thing. He dumbfounded their adversaries. And when they dared to continue in their pursuit, they met their Waterloo and it became their grave. Who will dare mess with those who are purchased of God, His treasured possessions, apples of His eyes? Ex14

It was He who when the water was bitter, made it sweet. He brought water out of a rock. And that was new too. Ex15:22-26

He rained manna from heaven to demonstrate that He was Jehovah Jireh. He preserved the Israelites for forty years and their clothes were intact and their shoes grew with their feet. That was new.Ex.16

Gerah Saw a Sudden Surprise

In the time of severe famine it was logical for one to look for green pastures, but He told Isaac to stay put. He not only stayed, but also sowed and He not only gave him a hundred-fold return, but made him very great. And despite the opposition he faced, you were faithful to him as he trusted Him until his adversaries gave up and he triumphed to Your glory.

13   The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;

14   for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.

“Go away from us, for you are much mightier than we.” V16

22           And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” Gen.26:13-14,16,22

In Samaria, there was hyperinflation and famine and there so much despair, destitution and desperation so bad that some boiled their children for meal. But in one day He so turned things around that prices fell to a ridiculous level to the amazement of all. You have not changed. You said, I am the Lord. I change not.

18           So it happened just as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, “Two seahs of barley for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour for a shekel, shall be sold tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria.”2 Kings 7:18

David Felled Goliath of Gath

David was on an errand to the battlefield when he was greeted with a distressing scene. Goliath of Gath was ceaselessly psychologically tormenting and taunting His people. They looked for a Saviour. God used a teenager who knew his God, to humiliate and fell the macho man mountain Goliath. David used a sling and a stone to not only defeat Goliath but also kill him with his sword. It was a new thing He did to show that cursed is he who trusts in the arm of the flesh or the strength of a horse.

48   So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

49   Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.

50   So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.

51   Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

 1Sam.17Jer.17:5

But those who know their God shall be strong and they shall do great exploits.

Dan 11:32

Job’s Table Was Turned- Penury to Prosperity

When the richest man in his day, Job, lost all his business empire and children in quick succession and then was riddled with boil all over, it looked it was all over for him. But God turned the hopeless situation around and not only restored his business empire, but renewed his strength and gave him seven son and three daughters and his daughters were the most beautiful in the land. And what more? He gave him a long life and he was able to see four generations of his offspring.

12   Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

13   He also had seven sons and three daughters.

14   And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.

15   In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

16   After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations.

17   So Job died, old and full of days.

 Job 42:12-17

Saul Was Turned From An Enemy to a Trophy

Saul of Tarsus vehemently opposed the gospel and the disciples, obtaining warrants to drag them out of their homes for torturing and imprisonment. He looked a hard nut to crack and an impossible mountain to climb. But on the road to Damascus, on his way to wreak havoc and destroy innocent lives, He arrested him and not only saved him but used him to not only champion the gospel but write thirteen best sellers of all time. It was definitely a new thing. Acts8,9

Praise Strategy during a Siege Yielded Super Abundant Supply

In the day of king Jehoshaphat of Judah, when they faced enemy forces that outnumbered them more than 100:1, God gave His people a novel praise-strategy against their enemies. And when they sent the singers ahead of the army, singing, ”Praise ye the Lord. His mercies endure forever,” their enemies not only fought against each and destroyed themselves but also littered the field of war with their bodies and mammoth banquet that took three days to gather. 2Chro.20:25

Jacob- Deceiver to Prince with God and an Inventor

When Jacob, the wheeler and dealer met his match in Laban, he was short-changed many times, even given the wrong bride after labouring for 7 years. But through his intimacy with God, he invented a ‘device’ which enabled him to breed the type of sheep he desired and thus outsmarted Laban and became very prosperous. His invention has never be matched in animal husbandry.Gen.30:37-43
