Wednesday Word: Faith Untried(1) (By Fenny West)

Faith Untried Part1/6

knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:3-5

Faith untried is asleep and can be weak. It cannot be relied on in the evil day that will surely come.

But the trial of your faith puts meat on the bone; makes you more robust, able to go from conquest to conquest.

Faith that depends on what is seen is fake. Faith is built on the unseen reality. Faith’s building blocks or raw materials are words. In the beginning God said, and it was.

17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; Rom4:17

Faith speaks the unseen into being.

Faith sees with eyes of faith what’s unseen.

With the natural eyes; what’s not felt, not smelt, not heard and not tasted.

18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2Cor 4:18

The trial of your faith

Works wonders for you.

It makes you prove what you believe.

It stabilizes you; makes you durable,

Faith puts fear to flight.

Makes you fight and win the fight of faith.

When faith partners with God and His word and the Holy Spirit, it is unstoppable, unconquerable, insurmountable and indomitable.

(Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say:

“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”

Heb13:5-6)
