Get off the Precipice in Your Talk ( by Fenny West)

Get off the Precipice in Your Talk

Get off the Precipice in Your Talk
Stay in the straight and narrow
Talk the walk and walk the talk.
Talk what you see in the mirror.

Just say what God has said of you.
Act as though it is true because it is.
God is not a man to deceive you.
He knows what He had made you.
He knows what He had put in you.

Give Him thanks for what He made you
Give Him praise for His infinite wisdom.
Resolve to make manifest His will
Resolve to give Him glory and honour
Because the Master made you a Masterpiece,

His crowning glory, and Apple of His eyes.

Prov15:4

4     A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Prov.6:2
You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.

Prov18:21 21      Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Prov 26:18-19 18              Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death,

19   Is the man who deceives his neighbor, And says, “I was only joking!”

Matt12:37 37       For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Mark11:23 23     For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Eph4:29 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers

James3:4,5,6

3     Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.

4     Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.

5     Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

6     And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
