This is the Day of Salvation ( C.H Spurgeon)

This is the day of Salvation

2 Samuel 2:26
Knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end?

If, O my reader! thou art merely a professor, and not a possessor of the faith that is in Christ Jesus, the following lines are a true ketch of thine end. You are a respectable attendant at a place of worship; you go because others go, not because your heart is right with God. This is your beginning.

I will suppose that for the next twenty or thirty years you will be spared to go on as you do now, professing religion by an outward attendance upon the means of grace, but having no heart in the matter. Tread softly, for I must show you the deathbed of such a one as yourself. Let us gaze upon him gently. A clammy sweat is on his brow, and he wakes up crying, “O God, it is hard to die. Did you send for my minister?” “Yes, he is coming.” The minister comes. “Sir, I fear that I am dying!” “Have you any hope?” “I cannot say that I have. I fear to stand before my God; oh! pray for me.”

The prayer is offered for him with sincere earnestness, and the way of salvation is for the ten-thousandth time put before him, but before he has grasped the rope, I see him sink. I may put my finger upon those cold eyelids, for they will never see anything here again. But where is the man, and where are the man’s true eyes? It is written, “In hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torment.”

Ah! why did he not lift up his eyes before? Because he was so accustomed to hear the gospel that his soul slept under it. Alas! if you should lift up your eyes there, how bitter will be your wailings. Let the Saviour’s own words reveal the woe: “Father Abraham, send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.” There is a frightful meaning in those words. May you never have to spell it out by the red light of Jehovah’s wrath!

Who is Christ to You ( by Fenny West)

Who is Christ to You?

Is He the Lilly of the Valley

The Bright Morning Star

The Sweet Rose of Sharon

The fairest of the ten thousand?

Who is Christ to You?

Is He altogether lovely

All together worthy

Altogether wonderful to you?

Who is Christ to You?

Is He the first and the Last

The Alpha and Omega

The Love of your life?

Who is Christ to You?

Is He your Saviour

And your Lord?

Is He your Life?

Who is Christ to You?

Is He your Perfect Sacrifice?

Is He your righteousness?

Is He your wisdom, sanctification and redemption?

Who is Christ to You?

Is He your all and in all

Is He your joy?

Is He your peace and the Prince of Peace?

Better Will Be Your End ( By C.H Spurgeon)

Better Will Be Your End

Ecclesiastes 7:8
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.

Look at David’s Lord and Master; see His beginning. He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Would you see the end? He sits at His Father’s right hand, expecting until His enemies be made his footstool.

As He is, so are we also in this world.” You must bear the cross, or you shall never wear the crown; you must wade through the mire, or you shall never walk the golden pavement.

Cheer up, then, poor Christian. “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.” See that creeping worm, how contemptible its appearance! It is the beginning of a thing. Mark that insect with gorgeous wings, playing in the sunbeams, sipping at the flower bells, full of happiness and life; that is the end thereof. That caterpillar is yourself, until you are wrapped up in the chrysalis of death; but when Christ shall appear you shall be like Him, for you shall see Him as He is.

Be content to be like Him, a worm and no man, that like Him you may be satisfied when you wake up in His likeness. That rough-looking diamond is put upon the wheel of the lapidary. He cuts it on all sides. It loses much – much that seemed costly to itself. The king is crowned; the diadem is put upon the monarch’s head with trumpet’s joyful sound. A glittering ray flashes from that coronet, and it beams from that very diamond which was just now so sorely vexed by the lapidary.

You may venture to compare yourself to such a diamond, for you are one of God’s people; and this is the time of the cutting process. Let faith and patience have their perfect work, for in the day when the crown shall be set upon the head of the King, Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, one ray of glory shall stream from you. “They shall be Mine,” saith the Lord, “in the day when I make up My jewels.” “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.”

Hitherto hath the Lord helped us. ( by C. H . Spurgeon)

1 Samuel 7:12

Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.

The word “hitherto” seems like a hand pointing in the direction of the past. Twenty years or seventy, and yet, “hitherto the Lord hath helped!” Through poverty, through wealth, through sickness, through health, at home, abroad, on the land, on the sea, in honour, in dishonour, in perplexity, in joy, in trial, in triumph, in prayer, in temptation, “hitherto hath the Lord helped us!” We delight to look down a long avenue of trees. It is delightful to gaze from end to end of the long vista, a sort of verdant temple, with its branching pillars and its arches of leaves; even so look down the long aisles of your years, at the green boughs of mercy overhead, and the strong pillars of lovingkindness and faithfulness which bear up your joys. Are there no birds in yonder branches singing? Surely there must be many, and they all sing of mercy received “hitherto.” But the word also points forward. For when a man gets up to a certain mark and writes “hitherto,” he is not yet at the end, there is still a distance to be traversed. More trials, more joys; more temptations, more triumphs; more prayers, more answers; more toils, more strength; more fights, more victories; and then come sickness, old age, disease, death. Is it over now? No! there is more yet-awakening in Jesu’s likeness, thrones, harps, songs, psalms, white raiment, the face of Jesus, the society of saints, the glory of God, the fulness of eternity, the infinity of bliss. O be of good courage, believer, and with grateful confidence raise thy “Ebenezer,” for-

He who hath helped thee hitherto

Will help thee all thy journey through.

When read in heaven‘s light how glorious and marvellous a prospect will thy “hitherto” unfold to thy grateful eye

Place of Prevailing Prayer ( by Fenny West)

Place of Prevailing Prayer

New International Version
Then the LORD said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock.

In the Place of Prayer
Many things happen.
Prayer is the key
To unlock difficult doors.

The place of prayer
Is the place to be.
It is a place of power;
A place where you see.

In the place of prayer
Destinies are changed;
And Order is restored.
This is the place you Soar.

In this place, you see His face
And obtain new strength and grace;
Where you crawled, you walked,
Where you walked, you ran
Where you ran, you flew
And where you flew, you soared.

In this place, God’s voice is heard
And the voice of the Flesh is silenced.
This is a labour room where vision is born;
Where blessings are released;
Where curses are reversed,
Chains are broken and purpose restored.

Moses was here and returned
With the ten commandments.
Hannah was here and her womb was opened.
Esther was here and obtained favour, fervour,

and freedom from serfdom and annihilation.
Jesus was here and was fortified for ministry.
Elijah was here he stopped the rain.
He was here again and he opened the heavens.
Elisha was here and raised the dead.
Daniel was here and received revelation and on the Day of Damnation and Disaster, and the lions den, they could not harm him.
David was here and received directions.
Paul and Silas were here and their chains fell off and their prison doors opened and the jailor and his household saved.
The disciples were here and the house shook, Divine Direction given and Peter released, spared execution.
Nehemiah was here and obtained permission, provision, and protection.

The Place of Prayer
Is a place of priority,
a place of power
And the place to be.

Luke 18:1
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”

1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Pray without ceasing.”

Mark 1:35
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”

Psalms 5:3
“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”

Philippians 4:6
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
James 5:17
“Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.”
James 5:18
“And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”

Esther 4:16
“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”

Matthew 17:21
“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Not of the World (by Fenny West)

In the World, but Not of the World

In the World, but not of the World

In the World but Not of the World

Because we are citizens of heaven.

We hail from above, born of the Word.

We’re like aliens here, pilgrims, strangers.

We look for a city Whose builder is God.

We belong to Mount Zion- the heavenly Jerusalem

We’re here in training for reigning as Kings.

And before we go, we shall Reign with Him.

In a twinkling of an eye, He will descend.

At the trumpet call, the Lord will come.

Those dead in Him will rise first.

Those alive in Him will them join them.

He will come for those awaiting His coming-

Those who are separated from the World.

Only those who are born again will be there.

You can be there too but the choice is yours.

But you have to make your reservation.

Unless you make your booking, you can’t be there.

Behold, I stand at your door and knock.

Behold, I stand at your door and I call.

Only you can open for Me to come in.

I am the Prince of Peace, come with peace.

My peace is not of this world but of heaven.

I have come with the peace of God.

This peace transcends all understanding.

This peace is like a river that’s burst its banks.

This peace gives you an assurance of heaven.

This call is for a relationship with God.

It is not a call to join a church or religion.

It a call to be joined to the Church, My Body.

My sheep hear my voice and come to Me.

I am the Good Shepherd and I died for You.

I am the Lamb slain before the world began.

On Calvary’s cross, I died that you might live.

On the third day, I rose to give You a New Life.

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I am the One Mediator between God and man.

I am the bridge that every man crosses to God.

The choice is in your hands.

Make the right choice.

As many as receive Me

I give the privilege and right

To become children of God.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a New Creation.

The old goes and the New comes.

If anyone lets Me in, I will take My rightful place.

Their name will be written in the Book of Life.

They will become citizens of heaven.

In the world but not of this world

2     And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Ro12:2

14   I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.John17:14

4     You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

5     They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.

12   Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

13   These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.1Cor2:12-13

6     We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.1John4:4-6

5     For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

17   Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new cr

eation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.2Cor5:17

6     Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.John14:6

Ship in Safe Hands (by Fenny West)

Ship in Safe Hands

This ship is heavily loaded divine goodies-

treasures of darkness and

hidden riches in secret places-

the abundance of the seas.

Slow and steadily she will go and flow and glow to the glory of God

until she reaches the harbour with all its cargo intact.

Meanwhile regardless

of the tempest in the sea,

she will not be perturbed because

Jesus is at the helm of her affairs.

In fact He is the pilot of the ship.

She will not go under for going over.

She will not lose any of her cargo

It is not over until He says so.

It was in the evening (Mark4:35); Jesus said, “Let us pass over to the other side” (4:35); there were other boats that went along side (4:36); Jesus was in the stern sleeping on a cushion (4:38); when Jesus rebuked the storm He said, “Peace! Be still!” (4:39); and the disciples were terrified (4:41) and asked “Who is this?” (4:41).

Luke says that “one day” Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake” (8:22); He fell asleep (8:23);

Has He told you, “Let us go to the other side.”, and you think He is now sleeping on the job and uncaring despite the turbulence you face?

Calm down. It is well. He is in control. In fact, He wants you to get up and use the Word of God against the storm that you see.

Say what Jesus said: ‘Peace, Be still! And there shall be a great calm.

Guaranteed a Safe-Landing

This plane is cruising

on a high altitude to the glory of God.

The pilot is Jesus Christ Himself.
And regardless of turbulence, distractions,

wind, storm, and fire in the atmosphere,

we are assured a safe-landing to His glory.

He is more than able to keep against that day,

that which is committed into His powerful,

 exceeding abundantly able Hands.

28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. John10:28

31           What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32   He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

33   Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

37   Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

38   For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

39   nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2     looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” AmenMatt:28:20.

Cast Down but Unconquered

7     But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

8     We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

9     persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed –2Cor4:7-9

Seeing the Invisible

16   Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

17   For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

18   while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.2Cor4:16-18

17   No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.

When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.

” Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

2     When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

10   Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
