See the unseen realities with the eyes of faith. See through the eyes of God. God is working in you both to will and to do according to His good pleasure. And the good work He has begun in you, He will continue and bring to fruition.

Trusting Trains and Teaches ( by Fenny West)

Trusting Trains and Teaches

Trusting in His nearness will put to flight any fearfulness.

Trusting in the unfailing love of God will fill you with heavenly confidence.

Trusting in the compassion of God will fill you with admiration, adoration and veneration.

Trusting in the providence of God will put springs in your steps that even in the time of famine, He will satisfy your mouth with good things.

Trusting that He knows the way you take will give you peace that surpasses  all knowledge and understanding.

Trusting that He is in your boat and He cares will cause you to be still and know that He is God.

Trusting that you are engraved on the palm of His Hand will assure you that He will never forget you.

Trusting that He has gone ahead of you will embolden you that He will make every crooked path straight and make a road in the wilderness; rivers in the desert.

Trusting God when you’re in the fire of affliction guarantees that you will come forth as gold like Job, in the end.

Trusting that He is the Resurrection and the life assures you that any of your dead dreams shall live again.

Born Blessed ( by Fenny West)

Born Blessed

Blessed Be God who has blessed me with every spiritual blessing from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet.

I am above only; the head and not the tail. I prosper in all I do  and wherever  I go. I prosper in my body, my business, in  the city and in the country side ,in the summer or winter, even in times of famine. God satisfies me and gives me a hundred-fold return like Isaac. He makes me prosperous until I become very prosperous. He makes me great until I become very great and an envy of unbelievers around.

As I put God first, all other things are added to me. I ask no good thing. He gives me Goshen-  the best of the land. He opens His good treasure and pours out His blessings upon me until there no room to contain it.

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places and I have a goodly heritage.
Because I am planted in the house of God, I flourish in His courts. I bring forth fruit even in my old age. I am like a vintage wine. I get better with age. He has made me a wonder in my generation. My blessings are from generation to generation. I leave a legacy for all time. I am blessed with inventive, creative and innovative genius. I am a seed of Abraham and Abraham’s blessings are mine.
I am blessed because I do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly nor stand in the way of sinners, nor  sit in the seat of God-mocker. But my delight is in the Word of God and on His Word I meditate day and night. I am  a tree planted by the rivers of water and I yield my fruit in its season. My leaf does not wither and whatever I do prospers. My God works in me to do exceeding abundantly, far above what I can ask or think or imagine-far beyond even my wildest dream.

I am blessed to be a blessing to God, the world and my generation and even beyond.
I am led of the Spirit to sow at the right place, at the right time, with the right people. I always hear the voice of the Lord saying to me, “This is the way, walk in it.”
He leads me to my green pastures and my wealthy place. Foreigners come with their silver and gold to build my walls.
I am blessed to the glory of God.

Faith in the Word ( by Fenny West)

Faith in the Word  and in the God of the Word

Faith in the Word

Brings a great reward.
It Pulls you over
And makes you stronger.

Makes your life better.

Faith in the Word
Reveals possibilities
And spiritual realities
Amidst difficulties.

Faith in the Word
Causes you speak to mountains
And see them reduced to plains
As you walk over them.

Faith in the Word
Shows your faith in God;
His integrity and His ability;
His faithfulness and loving-kindness.

Faith in the Word
Changes your playing field;
Makes you refuse to yield
To principalities and powers.
You see God as your shield.

Faith in the Word
Makes you inventive,

 imaginative and creative

just like your God

who calls those things

which be not as though they were.

Faith in the Word
Causes you to say what God said

rather than what your circumstance says.
And as you do,

 spiritual realities are manifested

into the physical world.

Faith in the Word
Will increase your faith
To be daring and enduring;
Pressing on and on

until you wear the victor’s crown.

7              For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor5:7

17   For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Ro 1:17

Seeing the Invisible

16   Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

17   For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

18   while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Hebrews 11: By Faith We Understand

1     Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2              For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 6               But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Heb. 11:1-2,6

17            So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.Ro10:17

8     But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

9     that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10   For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Ro 10:8-10

4              For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. 1Jojn5:4

16   above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Eph6:16

2     So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

23   For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

24   Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Jesus Heals a Centurion’s Servant

5     Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,

6     saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”

7     And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

8     The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

9     For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10   When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

Hope against all hope

A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed

21   Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea.

22   And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet

23   and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.

25   Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,

26   and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.

27   When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.

28   For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

29   Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

30   And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”

31   But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ “

32   And He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

33   But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.

34   And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

35   While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

36   As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”

37   And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

38   Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly.

39   When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”

40   And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying.

41   Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”

42   Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement.

43            But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat. Mark 5:36-43

Make Jesus Your Focus ( Fenny West)

Make Jesus Your Focus ( Prophetic Word)

Not the circumstance, not the things you see, not the problems, not the raging sea, not the storm or stumbling blocks, not the difficulties.
For the things you see, your light affliction which is but for a moment, is working for you, an eternal weight of glory. The stumbling blocks are stepping stones-like ladders to a higher ground. The fiery furnace is purifying you to radiate the glory of God. It is burning off the dross so the gold in you can be seen. It is reducing your carnal nature so your divine nature will be resplendent, super-abundant and unmistakable.

Seeing the Invisible Seeing the Invisible

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.2 Cor4:4:16-18

Keep your focus on Jesus and you will walk on water regardless of the raging seas. Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will cross over to the other side.

Wind and Wave Obey Jesus Wind and Wave Obey Jesus

35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

A Demon-Possessed Man Healed

1 Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. Mark4:35-Mark 5:1

Keep your eyes on Jesus and the Goliath who taunts will fall down flat on his face and you will stand on him and cut off his head with his sword. For where you have been tried the most will deliver to you, your greatest blessing; your cross holds the key to your treasures of darkness and hidden riches in secret places. Your barriers shall be the birth place of your abundance of the seas.

13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.14 The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”Ex14:12-14

48   So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

49   Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.

50   So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.

51   Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.1  Sam17:48-51

Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will not miss a step or miss the mark or miss the bull’s eye.
Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will instruct you as to what to do to pull off a resounding victory that will glorify His Name. Put your eyes on Him and He will direct you with His eyes. You will hear a voice saying to you, “This is the way, walk in it.”

21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ” This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. Isa30:21

Make Jesus your focus and you will hear when He says, “Move forward!” regardless of the ‘Red Sea’ in front of you and the “Egyptian Army” behind you. You will know when to use what you have in your hands to path the Red Sea and walk on dry ground. You will know when all you need to do is sing the praises of He who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. And as you give a sacrifice of praise, the walls of Jericho will come tumbling down. You will boldly go into the Promised Land and possess your possession. You will enter into Goshen -best of the land, prepared for you from the beginning of time.

Genesis 47
1 Then Joseph went and told Pharaoh, and said, “My father and my brothers, their flocks and their herds and all that they possess, have come from the land of Canaan; and indeed they are in the land of Goshen.”

4 And they said to Pharaoh, “We have come to dwell in the land, because your servants have no pasture for their flocks, for the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.”

6 The land of Egypt is before you. Have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land; let them dwell in the land of Goshen. And if you know any competent men among them, then make them chief herdsmen over my livestock.”

27 So Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly.

As you focus on Jesus you will hear When He says, “Pursue, overtake and you will doubtless recover all.” And as you pursue the marauding foes, fiends and Philistines, you will certainly overtake them and recover all you have lost. Yes as you obey the Word which sounded ridiculous:” Go out against your enemies.” even though they are heavily armed to the teeth, you will discover that the battle is not yours but the Lord’s. As you sing in the face of war, battle or confrontation He will cause your enemies to rise up against themselves and completely destroy themselves and leave the field of war littered with bodies and booties, spoils of war. The spoils will be so much that it will take years for you to harvest them.
Focus on Jesus despite the severe famine. For your sufficiency is of God and not of man. Even in the Day of famine He will satisfy you.

15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.16 Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel.17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.19 Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with voices loud and high.20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: ” Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.”22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much. 2Chro20:15-25

Focus on Jesus and He will tell you where when to sow and invests despite the famine. And as you obey He will give you a hundred-fold return like He did Isaac. He will make you successful until you are very successful. He will make you great until you are very great. He will make you a major player on the global stage. He will make you an envy of many like Isaac was. You will be a force to be reckoned with. Many will want to associate with your brand. Many will want to work free for you, just to have it on their CV.

12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him.13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;14 for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.

Focus on Jesus when the enemy keeps blocking the “wells” you dig. Do not give or throw in the towel. Do not give up. You have come too far to quit. Forward ever, backward never. The Lord is with you, in you and for you. No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper. You are more than a conqueror. Stand your ground and your adversaries will give up. Stand your ground and God will make room for you. You will have your Rehoboth. You will have your “Rachel” and out of her will come your Joseph-the fruitful bough; who will be used to save many; who be exceedingly blessed to be a blessing in the evil day, like Joseph of old.

20 But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well Esek, because they quarreled with him.20 But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well Esek, because they quarreled with him.21 Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that one also. So he called its name Sitnah.22 And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” Gen.26:20-22

Focus on Jesus and not on Peninnah who taunts you or despise or disdains you. You great gain,” Samuel”- more than seven sons is coming.

My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.2 ” No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.3 ” Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the LORD is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.4 ” The bows of the mighty men are broken, And those who stumbled are girded with strength.5 Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, And the hungry have ceased to hunger. Even the barren has borne seven, And she who has many children has become feeble.6 ” The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up.7 The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.8 He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. ” For the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, And He has set the world upon them. 1Sam2:1-8

Focus on Jesus and you will run through troops and leap over walls. Focus on Jesus and you will tread on high places and milk the breast of Kings. Kings shall come to the brightness of your rising. Isa60

Focus on Jesus and you will serve before kings and not mere men. You will be a mover and a shaker in the world. Your accomplishments shall resound. You will go from glory to glory and from strength to strength and from faith to faith.

Focus on Jesus and your sons and daughters shall come from afar. They shall come laden with gold and silver to build your walls. Isa60

Focus on Jesus and all the key players and kings in your calling and ministry and mission will come render their service to you. They will be at your beck and call. They will be at your command. They will come and give their very best for the building of your magnificent edifice to the glory of God. Before you call, God will hear. And whilst you are yet speaking He will answer. You will be a well-watered garden and an eternal excellence and trophy in God’s hands.

“Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God — my God — will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.”Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God — my God — will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.21 Here are the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of the house of God; and every willing craftsman will be with you for all manner of workmanship, for every kind of service; also the leaders and all the people will be completely at your command.”1Chro28:20-21

Focus on Jesus and nothing will shake you or move you. You will not be envious of anyone who may seem to have run ahead of you. What is yours is yours. No one can dispossess you. Fix your gaze on Jesus and endure your cross like a good soldier of Christ. See the joy ahead of you and endure the trial. You will laugh best even though you laugh last. The last shall be the first and the first shall be the last. You will be an enigma to many. They will say, “We can’t understand. This is a miracle. It is truly the power of God.”
It shall sound like: “When the Lord brought back the captives of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. “Our mouths were filled with laughter and our tongues with songs of Joy. For it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.'”

Psalms 126: A Joyful Return to Zion A Song of Ascents.Psalms 126: A Joyful Return to Zion A Song of Ascents.1 When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream.2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, ” The LORD has done great things for them.”3 The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad.

Fix your eyes on Jesus like Mary and you will obtain and retain a gain that nobody can take from you. You will obtain the best part that the world cannot give you and cannot take away from you.

“Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”Luke 10:41-42

Fix your eyes on Jesus and you will be ever productive, creative, innovative and inventive, even in your old age. In fact the older you get, the better you will be, the stronger you will be, the sweeter you will be, like vintage wine.

12 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,

15 To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Ps92:12-15

4 Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Selah5

Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools.7 They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion. P84:4-7

Light Out of Darkness

6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness , who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Light Out of Darkness. It sounds a misnomer-
an oxymoron. But it’s God’s specialty, winter or summer.

Light out of darkness is so easy for our God regardless of the issue.
It’s covered by the Word.

Light out of darkness when you walk through dark vales
Is sure because of His faithfulness. You will not trail but assail.

Israel was sandwiched between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army.

It was a zero hour. Some thought it was all over. But God made a way in the river.
He made an express way in the sea. They walked through on dry ground.

He turned it into a power hour. What a light from the night! Light came out of darkness.

Israel faced Goliath of Gath. He taunted them, humiliated them.

They quaked in their boots; trembled with trepidation

He darkened their day. They saw red, misery, woe and demise.

But when David arrived, he saw differently. He saw an uncircumcised Philistine.

He saw one helpless before God. He saw a cause to rise up for.

He saw the faithfulness of God in behalf of those who trust Him.

He saw Goliath fallen down flat and his head cut off.

He saw God fighting for His people.

David stepped out in faith and brought light out of darkness.

Goliath was felled and his head cut off. And Israel triumphed over her foes.

Saul of Tarsus wreaked havoc on the Church, obtaining warrants and dragging believers, whose family screamed in anguish. He supervised the stoning and martyr of Stephen. He was the personification of thick darkness on this Day of fierce persecution. (Acts8:1-2,-9:1-10)

One day on the road to Damascus, Jesus met with Saul of Tarsus and converted the foe into a Saint. The threat to the Church became a trophy in the hand of God and was mightily used to build churches, raise other ministers and led many to salvation. This is how God brings light out of darkness.

Even in the life of Paul we see persecution and suffering on many occasions. Some of these were indeed dark days. But out of the darkness God brought forth light as He used Paul to bring many revelations and truths to the Church- who we are and what we have in Christ. (2Cor11-12:8)

Joseph, after a grandiose dream of greatness at a young age, experienced thick darkness that lasted many years. He was sold into slavery, ended up in Egypt in Potiphar’s house as his servant and then in prison after being falsely accused of violating his wife. What darkness! (Gen.39)

But out of this darkness, God brought forth light, when Joseph, after interpreting the dream of Pharaoh, was made the Prime Minister in a foreign land. (Gen. 41)

Again in the early Church era, James was executed by Herod. And when he saw that the people where happy about it, he arrested Peter and imprisoned him with an intent of killing him too. Whilst Peter was in prison, the Church interceded for him and God intervened by sending an angel to deliver him. This was light amidst darkness. Peter was led out of that prison unknown to all the soldiers that guarded him. Even the Iron Gate opened of its own accord. (Acts.12)

In Philippi, Paul and Silas went to proclaim the good news. They even delivered a woman from the clutches of evil spirits. Her mentors seized Paul and falsely accused him and his associate, Silas. This led to their being brutalized and beaten with rods. Their hands and feet were in strait jackets and they were thrown into a dungeon.

However at midnight they began to pray and praise their God. He so enjoyed their praise that he sent an earthquake that rocked the foundation of the prison and set them free. Besides, the prison warden and his household were saved and baptized. This was nothing but Light coming from darkness. ( Acts 16: 23-32)

10 “Who among you fears the Lord?  Who obeys the voice of His Servant?  Who walks in darkness  And has no light?  Let him trust in the name of the Lord  And rely upon his God.
Isa 50:10
