Forever Grateful (Fenny West)

Forever Grateful

Eagle Odyssey- golden eagle eagle Romance 3 eagel babies CG92 eagle african fish eagle

The going is good.

Environment is cozy.

I’m out of the woods.

Wrapped in cotton wool,

Pampered, provided for,

Treated like an egg;

Watched over, served

Hand and foot,

And a five –star hotel,

Eating five-course meal.

The raven’s brought food

At my beck and call.

The brook supplied spring water

It was warm, rosy, inviting.

Then the music changed;

The tone was not good.

I hardly saw food.

My mummy was crude.

She was often rude;

Then she was abusive.

Her warmth and charm, elusive

There was fire in her eyes.

She kicked me out of the nest.

I could not believe my eyes.

It was not a movie.

It was for real.

I was cascading down-

Down to the dust of death.

My heart raced a million miles;

Facing a premature departure.

I gasped, my heart in my mouth.

I tried to cast out the demon.

It was defiant, refused to budge.

I prayed against the madness,

 But she was becoming manic.

I said my last prayers

As I faced concrete justice.

But just before I crashed to death;

Before I saw my Maker

Something soft was felt.

Right under was my mum,

Carrying me on her pinions

Back to the nest again.

How I heaved a sigh of relief!

Praise be the Lord!

Then it happened again.

Was she teaching me to reign?

Was she passing some skills?

Sure, skills of life I will need.

The penny dropped and I saw.

Revelation knowledge came.

Divine direction was dealt.

So I went with the flow,

Began to learn the lesson,

Spread my wings to go.

Yes, awkward at first,

But I had a thirst,

And I had a quest.

Soon came the conquest.

Suddenly, I found my wings,

Set my sail and soared

Mounted up to the mount,

Became King of the sky.

Thank God for mummy.

So wise to train me to reign

She put me through the mill,

So I could provide my meal.

And fend for myself,

That I may stand tall,

And be a bread winner,

Be a life-winner

And not a quitter

Forever grateful

Forever thankful.

10 ” He found him in a desert land And in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.
11 As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings,
12 So the LORD alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him.
13 ” He made him ride in the heights of the earth, That he might eat the produce of the fields; He made him draw honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock;

Overwhelmed? Stand Strong ( by Rick Warren)

“Put your trust in the Lord your God and you will stand your ground. Believe what his prophets tell you, and you will succeed.” (2 Chronicles 20:20b GNT)

The biggest mistake people make when we’re overwhelmed is focusing on the problem. We don’t look to God. We put our eyes on the problem instead of God.

When you ask many people, “How are you doing?” they say, “I’m doing OK — under the circumstances.” What are you doing under the circumstances? Who put you there? Why don’t you get on top of the circumstances? Circumstances are like the mattress on your bed. Get on top of them, and you’ll rest easy. Get underneath them, and you’re going to suffocate.

What are you focusing on right now? If you’re discouraged, it’s not God. You can’t be discouraged and focus on God at the same time. If you turn to God first, talk to him about your problem, and trust him to help you, God will respond: “The Lord says you must not be discouraged or be afraid to face this vast army. The battle depends on God, not you” (2 Chronicles 20:15b GNT).

The reason why you’re so tired all the time is because you’re trying to fight battles that belong to God. We try really hard and give it our best shot. Inevitably, we fail and we’re disappointed in ourselves and we come back with our tail between our legs and say, “God, I’m so sorry. I’ve really let you down.” Guess what? You cannot disappoint God. This is what grace is all about! You don’t earn God’s pleasure or approval. It is a free gift when you trust in his Son, Jesus Christ.

What does God want you to do if he doesn’t want you to fight in the battle? What are you supposed to do when you’re facing an overwhelming situation?

Two words: “Stand strong.” What does it mean to stand strong? It is a mental attitude. It’s an attitude of quiet confidence. You’re not getting ahead of God, but you’re not backing up, either. You’re going to stay put and watch God work. You’re going to stand strong.

One of the most important truths you have to learn in life is it is never God’s will for you to run from a difficult situation. If you do, he’s going to bring it up again. He wants you to learn that he is sufficient in every situation, and if you don’t learn it here, he’ll just provide the opportunity again.

What do you stand firm on? “Put your trust in the Lord your God, and you will stand your ground. Believe what his prophets tell you, and you will succeed” (2 Chronicles 20:20b GNT).

Do you want to be successful? Then stand on two things: the character of God and the Word of God. Have faith in the character of God and what his prophets have said.

Talk It Over

  • What has been your focus lately? Has it kept you from turning to God for help with whatever difficult situation you are facing?

  • What does it look like to be confident in the character and Word of God?

Wilderness: Not a Destination ( Fenny West)

footprint fire donkey came on top paul & silas hands and fet in stock joseph pit test 4 fiery furnace Hebrew three 4Wilderness:

Not a destination

But a filling station

Not a grave stone

But a stepping stone

Where you refuel

For your duel.

It’s for us all-

Great and small

To pass through

To a breakthrough.

It is to make you

And not mar you

David was in this place

And he saw God’s grace

Joseph was in this place

And he saw His face

Jesus was in this place

And He saw His Father’s face

You will come to this place

And you can see His face.

A place not for your death but birth

A place for His lovingkindness

A place of resurgence

We need it to grow and glow

Form strength to strength

In this place miracles can happen

As never before, like of old

Manna can fall

Ravens can bring bread

Water can come from a rock

Bitter water can be made sweet

Your Red sea can be parted.

Only those who follow whole-heartedly

Will enter the Promised Land

Like Joshua and Caleb.

Wilderness, we all need it.

It was the Father who took them through that way.

Deuteronomy 8: God’s Gracious Dealings

1     “All the commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to give to your forefathers.

2     “You shall remember all the way which the LORD your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

3     “He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

4     “Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.

5     “Thus you are to know in your heart that the LORD your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.  11               “Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments and His ordinances and His statutes which I am commanding you today;

12   otherwise, when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built good houses and lived in them,

13   and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and gold multiply, and all that you have multiplies,

14   then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

15   “He led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water; He brought water for you out of the rock of flint.

16   “In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do good for you in the end.

17   “Otherwise, you may say in your heart, ‘My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.’

Deut.

30   ‘The LORD your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes,

31   and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have walked until you came to this place.’

32   “But for all this, you did not trust the LORD your God, deut 1:

God Does Not Forget ( sermon and Song) (Fenny West)

God Does not forget

People can forget the good things we have done for them just like the butler forgot Joseph. But God does not forget. At the set time- appointed time He comes to fulfill His promise, like He did for Abraham, Joseph, David and many others. This message will encourage you to wait on the Lord and in his time He will make everything beautiful.

Sing a New Song (sermon) ( Fenny West)

Sing a New Song

We can Sing a New Song in all the seasons of our lives because of the faithfulness and presence of the Lord. A heart in tune with God sings songs of praise at all times. Those who know their God can look forward to the future, not with foreboding, but with anticipation of the goodness of God in the land of the living.
