The Light Within

When the light within

is self-righteousness

It’s as good as sin

Crass unrighteousness.

It’s light, deceptive

Come to stop, cripple.

It is punitive;

Prevents miracle.

It’s full of darkness;

Needs to be pushed out.

It’s full of blindness

Needs to be flushed out.

Be wise, come as fool

And receive the Light-

The Light that makes full

To restore your sight.

As you can tell.

Well of wisdom

Is here, has come,

For those who come

To His Kingdom.

Whoever Comes

The Light was bright

Could not be quenched

It came in night

To silence doubt.

It drove the night

Opened blind eyes

Remained as bright,

Regardless of cost.

He took up the cross

And died on it

Took all the curse

To set us free.

Whoever calls

Will be received.

Whoever comes

Will surely see.

He Came As the Light

He came as the Light

To dispel darkness

But men fought this Light

Because of dark deeds.

Their eyes were open

But as good as shut

They shunned prison, open

Refused to be found.

The light rejected

spelled doom and darkness

The Light accepted

Brought freedom, brightness.

Always On Duty

Always on duty

With eyes to and fro

~Nothing too tiny

For His microscope.

Heaven is not too high

Hell is not too low.

To deny His eye

More so for the low.

He is always there

Through thick and thin

He’s name is Shammah

Who sees smallest pin.

He’s not there to stare

But very present.

He’s there to care.

Love, ever-present.

O What a Night!

O what a night, that saw His grace appearing

God came to man that man may come to God

No room in the inn yet God was still willing

To give His Son in fulfilment of His Word

The Promise long made will now be made good

Nothing can bar His purpose and plan

You can take His Word as your food

The Son of God must come to man

O what a night, that saw the Saviour come to man

O what a night, that saw the Saviour come to man.

O what a Night, the Light of God appearing

the answer to man’s separation

the long yawning gap to be greeted with bridging

the God of Hope restoring our hope

the prisoner of sin will find a sweet release

the Prince of peace will make reconciliation

to all those who call on Him

who bow the knee to the King of kings

O bow the knee to the King, the King of kings

Africa, Arise and Sing

Dozed and slept for too long

Let your talents rise and bring

That for which you long: a song.

Where are those brains that have drained,

In foreign lands drifted, gone?

When will it come: joyful rain?

When will they come, daughters, sons?

All the black gold sold for dross

Sun is shining, yet there’s cold.

Leadership is at a loss

When will you rise up: be bold?

Wake Up! the Day is far spent.

The Night comes :no one can work.

Patriots arise, don’t relent

Put hands on deck, do the work.

Strengthen all the tired knees

Recharge all the feeble hands

Grow and raise the righteousness trees

That will give smile to the Land.

Let there be resurrection

In the Land of woe and death

Bring righteous insurrection.

Let a New Era be birthed.

Supporting Role

As Supporting Role

know that you do matter

for the good of the whole;

‘Cos you make things better.

So do your very best

And find great fulfilment;

Knowing that it is a test,

Come in your assignment.

It is not about you;

Not about your ego;

It’s about Who called you.

Know you’re not a zero.

You will be rewarded

By and by in heaven

You will be applauded

For being good citizen.

Shine as light for Him

Like city on a hill.

Aim to glorify Him.

Go for gold and fulfil.

Good to be participators

And not just looking: spectators.

Darkness Descends

Suddenly and swiftly

like a thick, wet blanket

causing chaos

Great commotion

raises rude emotion.

Stampede, uproar

West-end goes dead

firms fuming

Caught napping

Lights out!

“Who lit this strange fire?

Let’s have him for dinner.”

Hands are trembling

People are crying

Knees are giving way

some are praying

Some eyes are red.

‘Who is the saboteur?’

Who put gall in the Christmas wine?

Crucify him! Crucify him!’

Tills go silent;

They could not .

Sellers could not sing,

their bacon gone

Shoppers are mad

Entertainers are sad

The mad man is glad.

Who is to blame?

Who is playing a game?

So sadistic

And lunatic

So mindless

And merciless.

Great expectation dashed!

unpardonable!

Sellers’s songs silenced.

Buyers’ boon buried.

It’s Black Friday!

Lives up to the name

Dark is the day

Cold holding sway

Ignite the flame!

Parties are pooped

Balloons go burst

Tears are streaming

Rage is rising

Is this a warning shot?

That all things are possible?

That nothing is untouchable?

Or should it be business as usual?

May be we should look up

To the Great Light

That will never go out

The light that came on that Sunday

After Good Friday.

Walking As He Walked

Walking as He Walked is:

Depending on the Father

Praying to the Father

Being filled with the Spirit

Being led of the Spirit

Laying down your life

Obeying the Father

Speaking boldly

Willing to die from self

Pursuing Purpose fully

Teaching with authority

Doing the works of the Father

Humbling yourself to the Father.

Having compassion for the lost

Weeping over cities in darkness

Rising early to seek the Father

Maintaining the unity of the body

Laying down your life for others.

Worshiping and praising Him

Letting His word abide in you

Being devoted to the Father

Doing the will of the Father

Being baptised of the Spirit

Reconciling man to God

Fellowshipping with Him

Being light in darkness

Testifying of the Father

Interceding for others

Keeping His Word

Abiding in Him and

Keeping yourself pure

Finishing your assignment

Suffering with Him and

Reigning with Him.

The Test of Knowing Him
