The School of Adversity is a University

The School of Adversity is a university

And not what you know as a whiz bang city

There you are taught the ropes of hard knocks

Some of which may blow you off your socks.

You have to be patient to go through it

Because it is a process and not an event

Gradually, you will be pruned and refined

Until you are spotless, pure and fine

So endure and your victory shall be sure

Take not the carrot of the shortcut lure

God is working in you to make you shine

And when He’s done you’ll surely be fine.

weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,

Ps30:5,11

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.Job13:15

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.Ps34:19

Cast Down but Unconquered

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 (New King James Version)

Stand on the Promises

Stand on God’s Promises

In the face of difficulties

Refuse to resort to compromise

In the face of uncertainties.

Stand on God’s promises

Regardless of the pressures

Be resolute like Daniel and friends

Not to allow impurities.

Stand on God’s promises

Having covenant understanding

And it will boost your standing

And you will not fall for anything.

Stand on God’s Promises

Regardless of what you see

Because if He has promised

He will also fulfil it, make it good.

‘He always does exactly what he says. He…fulfills all…[His] promises’ (2 Corinthians 1: 19-20 TLB). Numbers 23:19 (New King James Version)

 19 “God is not a man, that He should lie,
      Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
      Has He said, and will He not do?
      Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Num 23:19,

8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
      But the word of our God stands forever.”

Isa40:8,

18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might[a] have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

Heb6:18,

10 “ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
      And do not return there,
      But water the earth,
      And make it bring forth and bud,
      That it may give seed to the sower
      And bread to the eater,
       11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
      It shall not return to Me void,
      But it shall accomplish what I please,
      And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

The Place of Prayer

The place of prayer

Is a place of power

And  intimacy

With God almighty.

Covert, cherish this place

And you will see God’s face

And hear Him speak

To plug where you leak.

Pray continually

Pray persistently

Pray with impunity

Pray passionately.

Find a place to pray

Find a time to pray

Find a reason to pray

In and out of season, pray.

 Pray to dispel sin

Pray until you win.

Pray for the lost

Pray against lust.

Pray against blindness

Pray against wickedness

Pray against coldness

Pray against waywardness.

Pray against distraction

Pray against confusion

Pray for God’s fire

Pray for holy desire

Pray to rise from the mire

Pray to cast all cares.

Pray for vision

Pray for unction

Pray for hunger

To rise higher

Accomplish better

Overcome all fear.

Pray that you trust

Make God’s strength a must

Stand in the gap intercede

Press past the enemy.

Pray to stand your ground

Maintain the jewel you’ve found

Pray the will of God

pray the Word of God.

Pray that you will not stray

Pray because of evil days

Let prayer lift you up

Set you up for divine sup.

Make prayer your food

Use to change sinful mood.

Make prayer your weapon

And a staff to lean on.

Prayer is like rain

Watering the seed

Multiplying your grain and gain

As you continue to plead.

Without prayer, you’re dry

Famished, like a desert

With prayer you’re lifted high

Able to touch God’s heart

If you’re not praying

You’re just playing

And you’ll be worrying

As you keep straying.

Pray to awake from slumber

No prayer, no power

Pray and praise

all your days

God is at Work, Whether we See or Not

God is at work, whether we see or not

Even at midnight He can hold the fort

Do you need reminding, He works all shifts?

And so there is no cloud He cannot lift.

Let Pharaoh’s horses and soldiers pursue

They will surely meet with their Waterloo

The plans and purposes of God will be

They will sink like lead and stone in the Red Sea.

Let the sound of praise in God’s camp be heard

Replacing every doubt and fears instead.

God’s power and His glory will soon be seen

Mauling, dwarfing, Goliaths, giants, seen.

5 Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people; and they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” 6 So he made ready his chariot and took his people with him. 7 Also, he took six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt with captains over every one of them. 8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and the children of Israel went out with boldness. 9 So the Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Hahiroth, before Baal Zemphon. 26 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”

Ex14:5-9,26

The Song of Moses

 1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying:

      “I will sing to the LORD,
      For He has triumphed gloriously!
      The horse and its rider
      He has thrown into the sea!

 2 The LORD is my strength and song,
      And He has become my salvation;
      He is my God, and I will praise Him;
      My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

 3 The LORD is a man of war;
      The LORD is His name.

 4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He has cast into the sea;
      His chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea.

 5 The depths have covered them;
      They sank to the bottom like a stone.

 6 “Your right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power;
      Your right hand, O LORD, has dashed the enemy in pieces.

 7 And in the greatness of Your excellence
      You have overthrown those who rose against You;
      You sent forth Your wrath;
      It consumed them like stubble.

 8 And with the blast of Your nostrils
      The waters were gathered together;
      The floods stood upright like a heap;
      The depths congealed in the heart of the sea.

 9 The enemy said, ‘I will pursue,
      I will overtake,
      I will divide the spoil;
      My desire shall be satisfied on them.
      I will draw my sword,
      My hand shall destroy them.’

 10 You blew with Your wind,
      The sea covered them;
      They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

 11 “Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods?
      Who is like You, glorious in holiness,
      Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

 12 You stretched out Your right hand;
      The earth swallowed them.

 13 You in Your mercy have led forth
      The people whom You have redeemed;
      You have guided them in Your strength
      To Your holy habitation.

 14 “The people will hear and be afraid;
      Sorrow will take hold of the inhabitants of Philistia.

 15 Then the chiefs of Edom will be dismayed;
      The mighty men of Moab,
      Trembling will take hold of them;
      All the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away.

 16 Fear and dread will fall on them;
      By the greatness of Your arm
      They will be as still as a stone,
      Till Your people pass over, O LORD,
      Till the people pass over
      Whom You have purchased.

 17 You will bring them in and plant them
      In the mountain of Your inheritance,
      In the place, O LORD, which You have made
      For Your own dwelling,
      The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.

 18 “The LORD shall reign forever and ever.” Ex-15:1-18

Psalm 91

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
         Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
         My God, in Him I will trust.”

 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
         And from the perilous pestilence.
 4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
         And under His wings you shall take refuge;
         His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
         Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
         Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

 7 A thousand may fall at your side,
         And ten thousand at your right hand;
         But it shall not come near you.
 8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
         And see the reward of the wicked.

 9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
         Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
 10 No evil shall befall you,
         Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
         To keep you in all your ways.
 12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
         Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
         The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
         I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
         I will be with him in trouble;
         I will deliver him and honor him.
 16 With long life I will satisfy him,
         And show him My salvation.”Psalm 23:4

 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
         I will fear no evil;
         For You are with me;
         Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

 1 God is our refuge and strength,
         A very present help in trouble.
 2 Therefore we will not fear,
         Even though the earth be removed,
         And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled,
         Though the mountains shake with its swelling.  Selah

 4 There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
         The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
 5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
         God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
 6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
         He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

 7 The LORD of hosts is with us;
         The God of Jacob is our refuge.  Selah

 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD,
         Who has made desolations in the earth.
 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
         He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
         He burns the chariot in the fire.

 10 Be still, and know that I am God;
         I will be exalted among the nations,
         I will be exalted in the earth!

 11 The LORD of hosts is with us;
         The God of Jacob is our refuge.

By faith, I must walk.

Following you is wise

Dispel all my doubts

As You take me home.

No need to worry

About what’s unseen.

Take me safely home

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”John3:3

 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Rom1:16

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1Cor1:18

 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 1Cor1:21

  4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

 5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
